McNair Spillway loop on the Kaskaskia River Carlyle Illinois. Electric/ water sites .. hot showers .. open all year. $9.00 with pass $18 without. A beautiful well maintained Corps of Engineers campground with so many amazing pelicans in January. It was just awesome.
Stopped at site 46 for a few days while visiting family.....ok spot. Water, electric and the bathrooms not far away. All blacktop and back in. Spot 44 or 45would be a better choice since there is a small spot (47) very close to one side. No one was there in December 2022 so no problem for me. The power pole in the photo is for spot 47.
Wonderful view of the tailwater of Carlyle lake spillway. Excellent place to wake up and fish. Bonus it's a short walk
We love this campground, wish the corps of engineers would wake up and realize that people want to stay longer than 14 days. Other than that, it's a great park!
