Alvord Oaks RV Park About
For Texans who live the RV lifestyle, finding a suitable and conveniently located park is often a key part of their journey, whether for a temporary stop or a more extended stay. In the North Texas region, Alvord Oaks RV Park offers a base for travelers and those seeking a longer-term solution. Situated in the town of Alvord, it aims to provide necessary accommodations for RV owners.
Alvord Oaks RV Park serves as a destination for individuals looking for RV living in the area. Like any establishment, experiences can vary, and it's essential for prospective residents to gather comprehensive information to make an informed decision. While details about the park's specific offerings are generally sought after, the provided customer feedback highlights certain aspects of the park's operations and management that potential visitors should consider.
Alvord Oaks RV Park is conveniently located at 4491 US-287, Alvord, TX 76225, USA. This address places it directly on US-287, a major highway that traverses North Texas, connecting areas like Fort Worth to Wichita Falls and beyond. This direct highway access is a significant advantage for RVers, ensuring ease of arrival and departure without the need to navigate complex local roads.
Alvord itself is a smaller, rural town in Wise County, offering a quieter environment compared to larger metropolitan areas. This location can appeal to those who prefer a more relaxed setting while still having reasonable access to necessary services. Nearby towns like Decatur, the Wise County seat, would typically offer more extensive shopping, dining, and other amenities, usually just a short drive away. For Texans traveling through or seeking a long-term base that offers a balance of accessibility and rural charm, Alvord Oaks RV Park's location provides a practical option.
Based on its designation as an RV park, Alvord Oaks RV Park would primarily offer essential services for recreational vehicles and their occupants. These typically include:
-
RV Lots for Rent: The core service is providing spaces for RVs, which would usually include connections for utilities.
-
Utility Hookups: Standard RV park offerings typically involve individual site connections for electricity, water, and sewer. These are fundamental for comfortable RV living.
-
On-site Management: The presence of owners/management (e.g., "Robert," "Gary" as mentioned in reviews) suggests there are individuals responsible for overseeing the park's operations and interacting with residents.
It is important to note that the provided customer reviews raise significant concerns regarding the condition of rented RVs and financial dealings with management. These concerns highlight a need for prospective residents to thoroughly verify all aspects of any rental agreement, especially if it involves renting an RV directly from the park, and to inspect the condition of any unit or lot before committing. Reviewers specifically mentioned issues with "mold growing within the walls," lack of maintenance, and alleged financial discrepancies. These are serious allegations that warrant careful investigation by anyone considering a stay or rental at this park.
Given the provided customer reviews, it is challenging to list conventional "highlights" without acknowledging the significant concerns raised. However, focusing solely on factual information derived from the provided text, and acknowledging the context of an RV park, we can identify potential features that might be present, alongside the reported issues.
-
Direct Highway Access: The park's location directly on US-287 is a practical feature, offering easy entry and exit for RVs.
-
Rural/Quiet Setting: Being in Alvord, a smaller town, suggests a potentially quieter environment compared to urban RV parks.
-
Presence of Management: The reviews indicate that management (Robert, Gary, owners) is on-site or involved in operations, which typically means there are individuals available to address concerns, although the nature of these interactions is heavily disputed in the reviews.
-
Rental RVs (with reported issues): The park appears to offer RVs for rent, as per the review mentioning "renting an RV here." However, this comes with strong warnings about mold and lack of maintenance in specific units (#22 was mentioned).
It is critical to address the serious concerns raised by the customer reviews directly, as these impact any perceived "highlights":
-
Allegations of Mold and Neglected Maintenance: One review explicitly details "MOLD growing within the walls of the RV" (unit #22), a "roof leaked," and "no maintenance done as needed for years." This is a severe health and safety concern.
-
Customer Service and Harassment Claims: Reviewers describe management as "rude" and allege "harassment" and "intimidat" by one named "Gary."
-
Serious Financial and Title Allegations: Another review makes very serious accusations of financial misconduct, "stealing money," and withholding an RV title after an alleged purchase, impacting "almost $5000" of savings from a disabled individual. The reviewer states they have an attorney involved.
-
Concerns about Drug Use: One reviewer broadly mentions "alot of drug users" in the park.
Given these highly critical and serious allegations from multiple customer reviews, potential visitors and residents should exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence, including personal inspections and independent legal advice, before engaging with Alvord Oaks RV Park.

In general, RV parks typically offer various rates for different lengths of stay (daily, weekly, monthly) and may sometimes have seasonal discounts or long-term lease incentives. However, given the nature of the feedback, any prospective resident or renter would need to exercise extreme caution and verify all terms and conditions directly with the park's management.

For locals seeking a place to park their RV, the direct highway access could be a practical convenience for commutes or travel.
However, it is critically important to address the significant and severe concerns raised in the provided customer reviews. These reviews detail allegations of serious issues, including:
-
Health Hazards: Claims of "MOLD growing within the walls of the RV" and long-standing maintenance neglect in rental units (specifically #22) are deeply troubling and pose potential health risks.
-
Financial Misconduct and Harassment: There are explicit accusations of management being "rude" and engaging in "harassment," as well as extremely serious allegations of "stealing money," withholding RV titles, and misrepresenting financial agreements. One reviewer claims "almost $5000" was taken from their savings as a disabled individual, and that an attorney is involved.
-
Safety Concerns: General mentions of "alot of drug users" further contribute to potential safety concerns within the park.
In light of these severe allegations, prospective residents and renters, particularly Texans seeking a stable and trustworthy place to live or stay, are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution. It is imperative to conduct thorough due diligence, which should include:
-
Personal Inspection: Absolutely inspect any RV or lot being considered, looking for maintenance issues, mold, or structural damage.
-
Verify All Claims: Do not rely solely on verbal agreements. Get all terms, conditions, and financial agreements in writing.
-
Seek Independent Counsel: Consider consulting an attorney, especially if engaging in an RV purchase or lease agreement directly with the park, or if any financial terms seem unclear or suspicious.
-
Check Public Records: Investigate any available public records regarding business licenses or legal actions against the park or its owners.
While the location might offer convenience, the very serious nature of the customer complaints means that for a Texan, ensuring safety, financial security, and basic living standards would be paramount. Therefore, without a clear resolution to the severe issues highlighted in the reviews, suitability for locals is highly questionable and warrants extreme vigilance.
Customer Reviews
My daughter and son n law were renting an RV here.. While Robert is doing his best to keep up maintaining the RVs they rent out, this is unacceptable. They were there 2 months and we should have known there was gonna be issues when charged for electric they didn’t even use right after moving.. month 2 brought them noticing the roof leaked and after moving their recliners we saw all the damage that there was. That is MOLD growing within the walls of the RV. There couldn’t have been any maintenance done as needed for years! I would not suggest renting anything from Gary. He’s rude and harassed my son n law while it work and tried to intimidate my daughter.. Btw.. this is #22 so beware. Black Mold is serious and can cause many health problems and it IS a reason to break a lease in the state of Texas.

They spoil you here in a good way. The manager, Garry, made booking a reservation easy. Upon arrival he called the maintenance pro, Robert, who hooked up all my lines and leveled my trailer-->Unbelievably good service. The RV park is located immediately adjacent to a highway and a large farm but the maintenance pro gives guests & park residents his tel# and tells them to call 24/7 for questions or concerns. I feel safe here. Add-Free laundry, a full size bathtub to soak in and reasonable fees.and I'd have to ask--what more could you want? ;0)
The property was ok. The women's showers were nasty I'm told. The men's weren't clean but ok. Had very poor hot water. I don't trust the management though. I was trying to move there and didn't have a truck to pull a 5th wheel so an employee came to move it for me. He told me my trailer didn't look good enough to move to their park and proceeded to show me one that I could rent to own. But right now they have a tiny trailer that is in worse shape than mine that is owned by a church. Gary the manager told me that the church will pay for 3 months of rent to give me a chance to save some money for the down payment on the for sale trailer. After 2 weeks they gave me a bill for repairs, a forward balance that totaled close to $500!!! How is that helping me save money? How is that at all what Gary told me what was going to happen? The kicker is that I never even stayed one night in the trailer because the door won't even shut. The cabinets are falling apart . and I don't think the bed would even support me . Don't trust these people at all.
It's secluded if u like that they have lots of open slots & they even take overnighters
