Talk about exceeding hospitality!! Took our camper and family out for my birthday trip, of course the state park spots were fully booked and we found this little 💎gem!!! We were met by the owner and he guided us to our spot, we were immediately greeted by other tenants whom even helped settle in. The camp ground was clean, spacious, calm, and kid friendly!!!Surprising there was a private trail that was a 15 min walk to the first water fall!! There was also a beautiful little creek that flowed along side of the campground which provided more fun for the kids! I definitely recommend 👌

This is one of our favorite campgrounds! Such a great rural and intimate location-just walk through the woods to Stone Mountain State Park! Each camper gets personalized service from Barry (Sandy Creek owner) or one of his relatives. Firewood, wifi, electrity, water, playground with accessories, and a clean bathhouse are available. Bring your RV or stay in a tent; most of the sites are RIGHT on the creek! This is worth the drive even if you can only spend the day. It is also only 20 minutes from the town of Elkin, for groceries and supplies and Sparta, NC is only 30 minutes away, right on the NC/VA border.

Barry is super nice, and you will enjoy some conversations with him when you see him ridding around the golf cart checking on folks. 3 Stars to Room, only due to the size of the Bath houses for both Males and Females has a Stall and Shower, and it’s not much but fairly well taken care of. A lot of have Tow Campers/RVs so the Bath House is optional but it’s nice to have the option for Tent Campers. 5 Stars everywhere else though. Great, Quiet, and Family Friendly that has become one of my friends and families annual go to places. Water and power hookups, Fire Pits, Pic Nic Tables, and a playground with several different sporting items and a nice field to enjoy it all in. Creek runs through the property and it sounds wonderful at night hearing the water running. Highly recommend anyone in the area to stop by and enjoy this simple but wonderful opportunity that Barry has given us!!
