Sooners Corner RV Park About

For RV enthusiasts across Oklahoma, selecting the right RV park is a crucial part of planning any journey, whether it's a short stopover or a longer stay for a special event. Sooners Corner RV Park, located in Perry, OK, presents itself as a conveniently situated option in Northern Oklahoma. As fellow Oklahomans who understand the importance of reliable accommodations, we aim to provide a factual overview of this park, including important details gleaned from recent customer experiences.

While the park's location on a major highway offers undeniable convenience, recent customer feedback has raised significant concerns regarding its reservation system and refund policies. Multiple reviews from late 2024 and early 2025 describe last-minute cancellations of long-standing bookings, leading to considerable frustration and logistical challenges for travelers. These experiences highlight a critical aspect of planning any RV trip: the reliability of your reservation.

It is important for prospective visitors to be aware of these reported issues, especially if planning a trip around a specific event or during peak times when lodging options may be limited. While the physical attributes and typical services of an RV park are important, the integrity of the booking process is paramount for a stress-free travel experience. This article will provide a comprehensive and factual overview of Sooners Corner RV Park, detailing its location, typical services, and features, with a crucial emphasis on recent customer reports to help you make an informed decision for your next Oklahoma RV adventure.

Location and Accessibility

Sooners Corner RV Park is strategically located at 3111 US-77, Perry, OK 73077, USA. This address places it directly on a major US highway, offering excellent visibility and straightforward access for RV travelers traversing Northern Oklahoma. For Oklahomans, US-77 serves as a key north-south artery, making the park a convenient stopover point or a central base for exploring the region.

Perry, Oklahoma, is a smaller city in Noble County, known for its agricultural community and its position along important transportation routes. While the park itself is situated on a highway, its location still provides a relatively peaceful environment compared to urban centers, without sacrificing connectivity. Essential services such as fuel stations, local dining options, and basic grocery stores are typically available within a short drive in Perry.

The park's proximity to larger cities and popular destinations is a significant advantage. Stillwater, home to Oklahoma State University and various events, is within a reasonable driving distance, making Sooners Corner RV Park a potential lodging option for visitors attending university functions, concerts, or other local events. This strategic placement along US-77 ensures that RVers can easily reach other parts of Oklahoma, whether heading towards Oklahoma City to the south or accessing areas further north.

The direct frontage on a well-maintained highway means that navigating to and from the park should be relatively easy for RVs of all sizes, minimizing the challenges often associated with accessing more remote or complex park layouts. This ease of accessibility is a primary benefit for any RV traveler, ensuring a smooth arrival and departure.

Services Offered

While detailed information on the full suite of services offered by Sooners Corner RV Park is not extensively available from the provided reviews, RV parks typically provide fundamental services essential for a comfortable and functional stay. Based on common industry standards and the nature of an RV park, it is reasonable to expect certain core amenities.

  • Full Hookup RV Sites: It is standard for RV parks, especially those catering to both short-term and potentially longer-term stays, to offer full hookup sites. This would typically include connections for water, electricity (likely 30 and 50 amp service), and sewer at each individual site. These hookups allow campers to fully utilize their RV's facilities, such as restrooms, showers, and appliances, ensuring a self-sufficient experience.

  • Pull-Through and/or Back-In Sites: RV parks generally offer a mix of site types to accommodate various RV sizes and preferences. Pull-through sites are particularly convenient for larger rigs, allowing for easy entry and exit without backing. Back-in sites often provide a more private setting.

  • Restrooms and Showers: While not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, most RV parks provide communal restroom and shower facilities for guests. These amenities are crucial for those in smaller RVs or tent campers (if permitted) who may not have full onboard facilities, or for anyone preferring a larger shower space.

  • Laundry Facilities: For guests planning extended stays, on-site laundry facilities are a highly valued amenity. Many RV parks offer coin-operated washers and dryers to provide convenience for travelers.

  • Wi-Fi Access: In today's connected world, Wi-Fi access is an increasingly common service at RV parks, allowing guests to stay connected for work, communication, or entertainment. The reliability and speed of such service can vary.

  • Trash Disposal: Convenient and accessible trash disposal facilities are a standard offering to ensure the park remains clean and tidy for all residents.

It is important to note that the provided customer reviews primarily focus on reservation issues rather than specific park amenities. Therefore, for the most accurate and up-to-date information on the full range of services offered at Sooners Corner RV Park, direct contact with the park management is highly recommended prior to booking.

Features / Highlights

Based on the provided information and the nature of an RV park, Sooners Corner RV Park in Perry, Oklahoma, likely offers several features that could be considered highlights for prospective visitors, though it's important to consider them in light of recent customer feedback regarding reservations.

  • Strategic Location on US-77: A significant feature is its direct access and visibility from US-77. This makes it an incredibly convenient stop for RVers traveling through Northern Oklahoma, ensuring easy navigation and minimizing off-highway travel. Its proximity to Stillwater for events is also a key locational highlight.

  • Convenience for Area Events: The park's location makes it a potential lodging choice for attendees of events in Stillwater, such as concerts or Oklahoma State University activities. This geographic advantage is a clear feature for those planning trips around specific dates and local happenings.

  • Standard RV Park Amenities (Assumed): While not explicitly detailed in reviews, the park would typically offer standard RV park features such as full hookups (electric, water, sewer) at sites, accommodating both 30 and 50 amp rigs. The presence of pull-through sites is also a common and highly valued feature for ease of parking.

  • Potential for Quiet Environment (between events): Given its location outside of a major metropolitan area, the park likely offers a quieter environment on non-event nights or during off-peak seasons, appealing to those seeking peace and relaxation.

Important Note on Customer Service and Reservations: It is critical to address the significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews as a major "feature" or aspect of this RV park, albeit a negative one. Multiple users reported:

  • Last-Minute Cancellations: Bookings made months in advance were cancelled just days before the scheduled stay, with the reason cited as being "fully booked."

  • Refund Issues: Customers experienced difficulties and delays in receiving full refunds for cancelled reservations, with some needing to dispute charges with their credit card companies.

  • Unreliable Reservation System: The feedback suggests that the park's reservation system (or its management) cannot be fully trusted to hold bookings, particularly for high-demand periods.

  • Poor Customer Service Regarding Cancellations: The tone of communication during cancellations was perceived as unhelpful or poor, especially concerning refund policies for cancellations initiated by the park.

While the physical location of Sooners Corner RV Park offers potential benefits, the consistent negative feedback regarding reservation management is a critical factor that prospective visitors must consider as a defining aspect of their potential experience.

Promotions or Special Offers

Given the provided information and the nature of the customer reviews, there is no public data suggesting specific "promotions" or "special offers" from Sooners Corner RV Park. The reviews primarily focus on critical issues with reservation management and refunds, rather than any pricing incentives.

RV parks typically offer standard pricing structures, which may include:

  • Daily Rates: The standard rate for a single night's stay.

  • Weekly Rates: Often a slightly discounted rate per night for stays of a week or longer.

  • Monthly Rates: Usually the most economical option for extended stays, significantly reducing the per-night cost.

  • RV Club Discounts: Some parks honor discounts for members of national RV clubs like Good Sam Club, AAA, or military associations. It is always worth inquiring about these.

However, in light of the significant concerns raised by previous customers about reservation reliability and refund processes, any discussion of "promotions" is secondary to the more pressing issue of secure booking.

Important Recommendation:

If you are considering booking with Sooners Corner RV Park, especially for an event or during a busy period, it is crucial to:

  • Contact the park directly: Do not solely rely on third-party booking sites without direct confirmation.

  • Confirm the park's current reservation and cancellation policies in writing: Ask for an email confirmation detailing their specific refund terms, particularly regarding park-initiated cancellations.

  • Consider alternative payment methods: If paying in advance, understand your credit card company's dispute process in case of issues.

  • Inquire about any overbooking prevention measures: Ask what steps they are taking to ensure reservations are honored, especially if you mention being aware of past issues.

While it's possible the park may offer standard rates or occasional deals, the primary concern for future visitors should be the reliability of their booking. Any pricing inquiry should be coupled with a thorough understanding of their current reservation management practices.

Therefore, while the park's location might be appealing, its suitability for local Oklahomans is tempered by the need for extreme caution regarding bookings. For a truly stress-free and reliable RV experience, especially when travel plans are critical, Oklahomans may wish to explore other options in the area that have a consistent track record of reliable customer service and reservation management, or proceed with Sooners Corner RV Park only after thorough direct verification and risk assessment.

Booked a site through Rover Pass on OCT 8th 2024 for the CCR concert in Stillwater on April 10th. April 4th received a cancellation due to facility being fully booked. Why did they wait 6 months to cancel last minute? Horrible, now trying to make last minute plans for lodging after everything is fully booked up. Don't trust their reservation system to keep the booking! Update, I'm also having to dispute the charge with my credit card issuer after contacting the park multiple times to get a refund. As of April 27th still haven't received a credit.

If i could give negative stars for this "rv park" I would! We had a reservation made and paid for back in FEB for an upcoming event. Today in April, days before our event, they cancel our reservation claiming they are fully booked!!! On top of that nonsense, they are trying to only refund us partial amount because "per refund policy" $5.95 is to roverpass and not refundable even though we were not the ones who cancelled!! Absolute horrible customer service

Sites are close together You can book online (for availability) Pull into any open site & check in at store (reservation isn't needed) Lot is somewhat noisy but not bad for overnight stay. CStore/Staff is just OK. Diner was Great! Breakfast all Day & Chicken Fry bacon Green Beans and Peach Pie was pretty yummy! Salad Bar was skimpy, but had Homemade Ranch & spiced beets. Overall, it's a good stop especially to wait out a spare tire repaired at the onsite Tire Shop.

Great spot to stop for the night. It’s located behind a convenience store with a great diner. It’s behind a fence and down the hill so you feel safe and don’t pick up any traffic noise. All spots are pull through and level cement with asphalt between. Full hookups with 50 amp service and sewer. Very convenient!
