It’s a place for adventurers who enjoy being close to the water and appreciate a direct connection with Florida's natural beauty. This article aims to provide a factual and balanced overview of what to expect at St. Mary's River Campground LLC, helping local Floridians decide if it's the right fit for their next outdoor excursion.

The path leading down to the riverfront offers fantastic views, often shaded by large trees, providing a pleasant walk to the water’s edge. Being nestled in a more rural setting, the campground allows for a sense of escape from the bustling city life. While the exact condition of the access roads within the park might vary, its overall placement near the river is its key locator and accessibility feature, particularly for those whose main interest is aquatic recreation.

Promotions or Special Offers
Based on the provided information, St. Mary's River Campground LLC does not publicly advertise any specific "promotions" or "special offers." As a smaller campground, their operational model may not include formal discount programs or seasonal deals often found at larger RV resorts. It is common for such establishments to operate on a standard rate structure. However, this does not mean there might not be opportunities for value. For Floridians considering a stay, it is always advisable to directly contact St. Mary's River Campground LLC by phone. Inquiries about rates for extended stays (such as weekly or monthly bookings) might reveal a different pricing tier compared to nightly rates, which can be beneficial for those planning a longer visit to the area. Additionally, confirming current availability and any specific policies directly with the campground management is crucial, especially given some of the concerns raised in customer reviews. While no promotional incentives are highlighted, the core "offer" of St. Mary's River Campground is its direct boat ramp access and location on the St. Marys River, which for dedicated river enthusiasts, might be promotion enough in itself.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For Floridians primarily seeking a basic RV camping experience with immediate and convenient access to the St. Marys River, St. Mary's River Campground LLC offers a practical solution. Its most compelling feature for locals is undoubtedly the "great boat ramp" and the "fantastic view of the St Marys River" from the path leading to the water. If your main objective is to spend your days boating, fishing, or enjoying the river's natural beauty, then the campground's location in Hilliard provides a direct gateway to these activities without requiring extensive travel within or outside the state. The presence of shade trees near parking areas is also a small but appreciated amenity, offering relief from the Florida sun. However, it is crucial for local Floridians to manage their expectations. Based on multiple detailed customer reviews, this campground may be more suitable for individuals or groups whose sole focus is on river access and who are prepared for a very rustic and potentially challenging environment, especially regarding site proximity, amenities, and community dynamics. It is not presented as a traditional family-friendly resort with extensive amenities or a meticulously maintained park. Floridians who prioritize a convenient boat launch and are self-sufficient campers might find it serves their needs for river-based recreation. Those seeking a pristine, highly private, or amenity-rich camping experience, particularly with children, may find it more suitable to explore other options in the wider Jacksonville or Kingsland, Georgia areas, as suggested by a past traveler. For the niche of local Floridian river enthusiasts, however, its direct river access could remain its key appeal.
Customer Reviews
Small campground with a great boat ramp. Such a fantastic view of the St Marys River along the path leading down to the river front. I love the shade tree next to the parking.
I can see that the google maps app doesn’t put our reviews here so here is our experience that is also on the google maps app. I would give it zero stars, but to leave a review it has to have one. The spots are way too close to the neighbors, long term people live here with make shift sheds and trash everywhere, the water that comes into your camper from this campground’s well smells like raw sewage which means bacteria is growing in their well which can make people sick, people who live here go to the well and put in bleach 🥴. There’s drama between the owner and her mother over the property, drama between the owner and her long term campers to the point a guy burned a camper that exploded due to propane tanks, that also burned the campers behind and in front of his and two cars was burned and damaged in the process. ( Kevin you will see his five star reviews below even though he is an arsonist ). There’s a guy who stopped my kids to twerk and dance on them ( Ricky is his name I do believe) this is unacceptable by all means. They let the long term residence put washers on make shift porches that drain down onto the ground flooding you out every time they do laundry. The campsites are so close together you can hear the person in front of you and behind you, you can’t let your awning out for this reason, want to sit outside? That is out of the question. No picnic tables and you can’t put chairs out there due to being too close. The couple in front of lot 36 complain all day long if you come outside your camper. The owner living in front of the campground should be running it better, but she just ignores everything. It’s extremely muddy have a car you love not the place for it. This is NOT a kid friendly campground nothing for kids to do other than be yelled at by the people who live here in very ran down campers cause they are outside. God forbid. Pay the extra mileage and go into Jacksonville Florida or over to Kingsland Georgia and get a campground. By all means skip this one.The day we left another camper was burnt this place is scary for people like me who travels with her kids. I made the mistake paying a month here as my husband is a IBEW traveling union electrician who is working at the Navy Submarine Base till August and found this was open. I will never again stay in this campground and don’t recommend it for any other traveling union workers or anyone for that matter. I have been traveling with the IBEW for years and this is the only campground I have EVER left a bad review for. We have had wonderful experiences while traveling, but not here.
Please stay away from this place I lived out here years ago when Steve owned it before he passed away and it was very nice he was extremely kind any problems he took care of it and was on top of everything now it has been ran into the ground people's vehicles have been vandalized threatening letters left on the same vehicle that was vandalized loud music being played people threatening people no one is ever held accountable for their behavior and actions the landlord and her husband told me to not call the police back out here to call them I called the police and made a complaint about my neighbor's blaring their music starting at 7 a.m. until way past 10:00 p.m. I made several complaints to the landlord nothing was ever done about it so I called and reported it they do not want you calling the police but yet they do nothing to resolve any issues out here please stay away I am moving out this Saturday because of everything that goes on out here this is the worst place I have ever lived in my life like I said this was a top-notch campground when Steve was alive his daughter has done nothing but run this Campground into the ground her and her husband her husband got in my face pointing his finger in my face literally harassing me I had to tell Chrissy to keep her husband away from me worst place possible be aware stay away stay away stay away!!! And I can keep going on and on and on I have been living out here for almost 4 years and I can tell you I have been trying to move since about a year after I moved out here so if you're thinking about camping or moving into St Mary's River Campground you will be better off to keep driving to the next Campground and don't look back so please be aware
Never been too a better and wonderful place and the owner is first class.
Used to be a lot of fun but now that I'm older I don't really get in the water bc it's so dark.
