Stannard Township RV Campground is strategically located at 14190 US-45, Bruce Crossing, MI 49912, USA. Its direct placement "right by the road" (US-45) makes for exceptionally "easy in and out" access, a significant advantage for RVers, especially those with larger rigs. While there is "some road noise" due to its proximity to the highway, it's generally considered manageable and often outweighed by the convenience.
Bruce Crossing is situated at the crossroads of Michigan Highway M-28 and US Highway 45, making it a central point in Michigan's Western Upper Peninsula. This intersection is also where various recreational trails meet, highlighting the area's appeal for outdoor enthusiasts. The campground's location offers practicality beyond just easy transit; it’s in "close proximity to groceries, a gas station convenience store, and restaurants." This means campers can easily resupply, refuel, and grab a bite to eat without venturing far from their site. For those relying on mobile communication, the campground also boasts "Good Verizon reception," a valuable feature in some of the more remote parts of the UP.
Stannard Township RV Campground provides a range of fundamental services that cater primarily to RV travelers, ensuring a comfortable and functional stay:
- Electrical Hookups: Sites are equipped with "30 amp Elec" hookups, providing essential power for RVs.
- Water Hookups: Water access is available at the sites, ensuring campers have fresh water for their needs.
- Dump Station: An on-site "dump station" is provided, allowing RVers to conveniently dispose of their waste.
- Trash Barrels: Readily available "trash barrels" contribute to maintaining the cleanliness of the campground.
- Showers: A "bathhouse has one toilet/one shower each" for men and women. Showers are available for an "extra" fee ($3.00 per shower, paid via an honor system into a fee box).
- Restroom Facilities: Basic restroom facilities are part of the bathhouse, offering convenience for all campers.
- Level Pull-Through Sites: The campground features "12 level, pull thru sites," which are highly desirable for RVs of all sizes, including those up to "60 ft total length."
- Utilities Set Up Two Together: The design has "the utilities set up two together," meaning "every other RV will pull in opposite." This is a unique setup to be aware of.
- First-Come, First-Serve: All sites operate on a "first-come, first-serve" basis, with no reservations taken.
Stannard Township RV Campground, while modest, offers several key features and highlights that make it a notable option for campers:
- Affordable Pricing: A consistent highlight from reviews is the "Great overnight campground for $15" (though some sources indicate an older $10 rate, $15 appears to be the current, widely accepted price), offering exceptional value for essential services.
- Convenient Overnight Stay: It's widely regarded as an "overnight campground," making it ideal for those traveling long distances through the Upper Peninsula.
- Ease of Access for Large Rigs: With "12 level, pull thru sites" and "Easy in and out" access, it's particularly suitable for "60 ft total length" RVs, which can sometimes struggle in less accommodating campgrounds.
- Good Cell Reception: "Good Verizon reception" is a significant plus, especially in parts of the Upper Peninsula where cellular service can be spotty.
- Open Grass Field: The campground is set in a "Big open grass field," providing a sense of space, although it lacks shade.
- Proximity to Local Amenities: Its location is a major benefit, being very close to "groceries, a gas station convenience store, and restaurants" in Bruce Crossing.
- RV-Friendly: Explicitly stated as "Definitely a better setting for RVs than tents," indicating its design and amenities are optimized for recreational vehicles.
- Quiet During Off-Peak: While on a highway, the highway is noted to be "lightly traveled in that area," contributing to a relatively peaceful environment, especially outside of peak times. One review noted "Only 6 RVs on a Thursday in August," indicating it can be quiet.
- Nearby Attractions: The Bruce Crossing area is close to "several nice waterfalls," including Bond Falls, offering opportunities for local exploration and scenic beauty.
Based on the available public information and customer reviews, Stannard Township RV Campground operates on a consistent, low-cost per-night fee structure. The prevailing rate mentioned by recent visitors is "$15 a night for electric and water hookup." This competitive pricing is arguably the campground's primary "promotion," as it offers exceptional value for the amenities provided.
There are no specific, advertised special offers or discounts beyond this attractive nightly rate. Given its nature as a straightforward, first-come, first-serve municipal or township campground, complex promotional schemes are typically not a feature. The emphasis is on providing reliable and affordable services for transient RVers. Any additional fees, such as the $3.00 charge for showers, are clearly communicated. Campers interested in potential long-term stay rates or any unadvertised offers should contact Stannard Township directly using the provided contact information. However, the consistent $15/night rate is what draws many to this practical Upper Peninsula stop.

Its primary appeal lies in its straightforward value and strategic location. At an affordable rate of typically $15 per night, with essential 30-amp electric, water, and dump station access, it presents a no-nonsense solution for RVers who prioritize functionality and budget. This cost-effectiveness means more resources can be allocated to exploring the breathtaking natural beauty and unique attractions that the UP has to offer, from majestic waterfalls to expansive forests.

Stannard Township RV Campground truly understands the practical needs of those exploring our beautiful state.
Customer Reviews
Great overnight campground for $15. 30 amp Elec, water, dump station and trash barrels. 12 level, pull thru sites. The utilities are set up two together. So, every other RV will pull in opposite. We are 60 ft total length. Easy in and out. Good Verizon reception. Big open grass field, showers (extra). Only 6 RVs on a Thursday in August.
$15/night for electric and water hookup. There are 8 first-come, first serve sites. Sites are basically gravel patches next to a sliver of grass with no shade. Right by the road, so there is some road noise. The bathhouse has one toilet/one shower each. They were fine but not particularly nice. The park is on close proximity to groceries, a gas station convenience store, and restaurants. Definitely a better setting for RVs than tents.
What a great place to spend the night! All the sites are pull- through and easy to manage. There is a fabulous playground with swings, horseshoes (with the shoes!), and several other pieces of equipment. There’s a pavilion with lots of picnic tables and tables at sites. Huge area to walk the dog. All that for only $15 for water and 15/30-amp electric. So impressed! Today (Thursday night in July), there was only 4 of us on-site.
Another great find on our road trip. Just enough for an overnight stop. All the basics there, don't expect a swimming pool & games room it's not that sort of place. A place to park & rest
Quiet little park. Well maintained. Water 30A and dump station. All you need when traveling.
