Still Waters Camp is quickly gaining a reputation among Indiana locals for its serene atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and a unique blend of amenities that cater to both short-term visitors and those seeking a longer-term retreat.
Described by visitors as "Clean, Quiet, Friendly, Simple & Modern," Still Waters Camp promises an experience that lives up to its name. The emphasis here is on providing a comfortable and undisturbed environment, allowing campers to truly unwind and reconnect with themselves and their surroundings. From spacious gravel pads with lush grass to well-defined fire pits and a natural swimming area, every detail seems designed to enhance the camping experience. Still Waters Camp is conveniently located at 4930 S Pleasant Ridge Rd, Lexington, IN 47138, USA. This address places it in a tranquil, rural setting within Southern Indiana, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, while still being reasonably accessible for Indiana residents. Lexington, a small community in Scott County, provides the quiet backdrop that contributes to the campground's serene atmosphere.
While the campground offers a feeling of seclusion, it remains connected to key areas in Southern Indiana. Larger towns like Scottsburg (the county seat of Scott County) are typically within a 15-20 minute drive, providing access to essential services such as grocery stores, gas stations, and local dining options. For more extensive shopping, dining, and medical facilities, the city of Jeffersonville and the greater Louisville, Kentucky metropolitan area (just across the Ohio River) are generally within a 45-minute to hour drive, offering a wider range of amenities.
The rural roads leading to Still Waters Camp are generally well-maintained, ensuring a smooth journey for RVs and other vehicles. It's important for visitors to note the "SIDE NOTE" from a reviewer regarding limited mobile phone service (no T-Mobile, poor Verizon signal) and the lack of Wi-Fi. This characteristic, while a "bonus" for some seeking to truly disconnect, is a factor to consider for those who rely heavily on connectivity. However, for campers prioritizing peace and a digital detox, this aspect of the location only enhances the remote, "still waters" experience. This blend of accessible tranquility makes Still Waters Camp an ideal spot for Indiana locals seeking a genuine, peaceful outdoor retreat.
