This overview aims to provide a factual, engaging, and informative look at Stockton RV Park, drawing on publicly available details and customer experiences to help you make an informed decision.
Stockton RV Park promotes itself as a "quiet, convenient location" just minutes from Stockton Lake and downtown Stockton. They emphasize "affordable pricing for 30/50 amp RV sites with FULL hook-ups," including water, sewer, electricity, and free Wi-Fi. They also highlight being "family-owned and operated," priding themselves on "great customer service." While these are appealing aspects, it's also important to consider the nuanced experiences of previous guests to get a complete picture of what to expect during your visit.
Stockton RV Park is conveniently located at 416 N 4th St, Stockton, MO 65785, USA. This central location in Stockton provides excellent accessibility for those traveling by RV. You're not far off the main routes, making arrival and departure relatively straightforward.
A significant advantage for local Missourians is the park's proximity to key Stockton attractions. It's described as being "just minutes from Stockton Lake," a popular destination for fishing, boating, and various water sports. This means less travel time to launch your boat or enjoy a day by the water. Additionally, the park is "just two minutes from local restaurants and shopping," offering convenience for grabbing supplies, a bite to eat, or exploring the town of Stockton without needing to travel far. While it aims to be "far enough away from downtown" for a calm, natural feel with "plenty of shade trees," its closeness to essential services is a definite plus for any RV traveler.
Stockton RV Park focuses on providing core services essential for RVers, aiming for convenience and affordability.
- Full Hookup RV Sites: All sites reportedly offer full hookups, including electric (both 30-amp and 50-amp service), water, and sewer connections. This is a crucial amenity for most RV travelers, eliminating the need to frequently move for dump stations.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi: The park advertises free Wi-Fi for the length of your stay, supporting up to two devices per overnight site. This allows guests to stay connected, check emails, or stream content.
- All-Inclusive Rates: Water, sewer, electricity, and Wi-Fi are all included in their daily, weekly, or monthly rates, simplifying billing and budgeting for your stay.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: Non-aggressive dog breeds are welcome, making it a viable option for those traveling with their furry companions.
- Variety of Site Sizes: The park offers "several over-sized sites" in addition to standard ones, with a maximum length of 70 feet for pull-throughs, accommodating larger rigs.
- Online Reservations: The park's website indicates an online reservation system, allowing guests to check rates and availability and potentially book their stay remotely.
While Stockton RV Park offers foundational amenities, customer experiences shed light on what makes a stay here unique, and what potential challenges guests might face.
- Convenient Location to Stockton Lake and Town: A significant highlight is its practical position, offering quick access to the lake for recreation and the town for necessities. This is highly beneficial for those wanting to maximize their time enjoying the local area.
- Affordable Daily, Weekly & Monthly Rates: The park aims to be competitively priced, which is a major draw for both short-term visitors and those considering longer stays.
- Family-Owned and Operated: The park emphasizes a commitment to "great customer service," suggesting a personal touch in their operations.
- Quiet Atmosphere: Being "away from the hustle and bustle of major highways" contributes to a calm environment for relaxation.
- Tree-Shaded Sites: The presence of "plenty of shade trees" is a desirable feature, especially during Missouri's warmer months, providing natural cooling and comfort.
- Potential Site Challenges During Development: One review noted concerns about unfinished "new sewer and water lines" leading to "bad campsites" and potential issues with plumbing. This suggests that guests might encounter ongoing development or sites that are not fully optimized during certain periods.
- Checkout Policy: A review highlighted an 11 AM checkout time, which is earlier than many other campgrounds (often 2 PM or 3 PM). While the park may grant later checkouts upon request and availability, this stricter policy is a point to consider for those who prefer a more leisurely departure.
- Communication Issues: One customer reported difficulties reaching the park by phone and email for reservation inquiries, indicating a potential area for improvement in responsiveness.
Specific, ongoing promotions are not detailed in the provided information. However, like many RV parks, Stockton RV Park might offer:
- Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Rates: These are explicitly mentioned, indicating flexibility in pricing based on the length of your stay, with monthly rates typically offering the best value for long-term visitors.
- Seasonal Discounts: It's common for RV parks to offer reduced rates during off-peak seasons (e.g., late fall to early spring) when demand is lower.
- First-Time Visitor Specials: Occasionally, parks might have promotions for new guests to encourage trial.
- Good Sam or Other Membership Discounts: Many RV parks are affiliated with clubs like Good Sam, offering discounts to members. It is always advisable to inquire if they honor such memberships.

For us Missouri locals, Stockton RV Park presents a convenient and potentially affordable option for an RV getaway in the beautiful Stockton Lake area. Its location — "minutes from Stockton Lake" and close to local shops and restaurants — is a strong draw, offering ease of access to both recreation and necessities. The promise of full hookups, free Wi-Fi, and a pet-friendly environment caters to the core needs of most RV travelers.
However, as with any destination, a balanced view is crucial. While the park emphasizes its quiet setting and customer service, recent customer feedback highlights potential challenges, such as ongoing site development leading to less-than-ideal conditions in some spots, a stricter checkout time compared to many other campgrounds, and occasional communication difficulties. These points are important for RVers to consider, especially if they have larger rigs that require stable, level ground, or if they prefer a more flexible departure schedule.
Ultimately, if you're a local looking for a value-oriented RV spot with excellent access to Stockton Lake and the town, and you're prepared to potentially navigate minor inconveniences (or confirm current site conditions and policies directly with the park), Stockton RV Park could be a suitable base for your next Missouri adventure. It offers the essential services for an RV stay in a prime location, making it a practical choice for exploring our state's natural beauty.
Customer Reviews
We arrived at the park and a sign stated the office was lot 6 to the left. To the left was a man with a greenhouse working in a building and a hose stretched across the road with an orange cone blocking the road. My wife says I think we check in online. She begins and has to have our rv tag number so gets out as a woman comes out of somewhere to speak to her and shows us our site. The woman disappears and my wife shows me our site. I'm immediately concerned about sinking into it because of the weight of our rig. She said it looks pretty solid. The pictures tell you the rest here. They had put in new sewer and water lines and not finished but have decided to make customers endure bad campsites during the process. The.plumbing contractor also apparently thinks liquid travels up hill. See the pictures. They also apparently believe they are running a hotel with an 11am checkout time. Most campgrounds we stay at have a 2pm to 3pm checkout. When I called to ask for a later checkout she had to check the schedule to make sure nobody was coming in behind us. I laughed other than some obviously full timers we were the only ones there. She did grant us a later checkout. By the way, nobody had checked in yet as we rolled out about 2:30. As an avid traveler, camper who stays at parks around the country...this was the worst ever. If staying in Stockton Mo, stay somewhere else.
I’m sure this is a great place to stay but they do not answer the phone. I called 3 times within a week trying to get info on how to cancel our reservation. I even emailed them and no answer. We would’ve loved to stay here but we found a campsite closer to the event we were going to. I understand it’s a busy weekend but they could’ve at least returned a phone call.
The campground has full hookups at a reasonable price and was great for a weekend to play on Stockton lake with the corp of engineers campgrounds full. As reference most of the Corp. campgrounds only have electricity, no water or sewer. If you don't require a shower house then this is a great place for visiting Stockton lake.
We stayed at Stockton RV Park during a trip to the lake. We got in a few days early and were fortunate enough to find a space here. The facility was clean and well managed. We will definitely be coming back again the next time we are passing through. Thanks!!
We needed a decent place to camp for a few days while I fished Stockton Lake and most of the parks I looked at around the lake didn't have full hookups and the lots were too small for our Motorhome, then I found this park. This park has large, well maintained lots with 50 amp service and full hookups. The units that appear to be permanent here are well maintained and neat. They also have some of the best WiFi I have had in an RV park. It is quiet and peaceful and the owner is friendly and helpful. I will happily stay here any time I am in Stockton.
