The management, described by a reviewer as "fantastic and attentive," ensures a smooth operation, from "Easy reservations, check in and out" to maintaining a safe, friendly atmosphere. Accessibility is exceptionally easy, as the campground is located "right off of I-88" (Exit 13), the major highway connecting the Capital Region (Albany) to the Southern Tier (Binghamton). Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
Susquehanna Trail Campground is exceptionally suitable for New York locals for several reasons, making it far more than just a place to park an RV. Firstly, it offers a necessary reprieve—a quiet, country escape accessible directly from a major interstate (I-88), catering perfectly to those who want a quick, hassle-free transition from city or suburban life to nature. Secondly, its location is a logistical advantage that cannot be overstated. For New York families whose itinerary centers around the Cooperstown area—be it the All Star Village, the Baseball Hall of Fame, or the cultural offerings of Oneonta—this campground provides the shortest, quietest, and most manageable basecamp, allowing more time for enjoyment and less time on the road. The ease of check-in, the helpful management, and the reliable full hookup sites demonstrate a focus on minimizing stress, which is exactly what a New York weekend escape is supposed to deliver. While some guests have noted the presence of nearby train tracks, even this minor detail is typically dismissed as "no problem really," outweighed by the quiet, relaxing atmosphere the rest of the time. For a dependable, quiet, and perfectly positioned Central New York camping experience, Susquehanna Trail Campground stands out as a highly recommended destination.

Property well kept. Manager was fantastic and attentive. Full hook up sites worked out well. Level and clear. Would return for a quiet couple of nights. Easy reservations, check in and out. Close enough to all the action in “town”, but quieter than other sites in the area.
Aug 08, 2025 · Eric WieczorekWhat a pretty little campground! So easy to get to off of I-88 too and peaceful. It's a little "tired" but we've got our own bathroom in our camper and didn't need much. It has full hookups so that was helpful. Didn't realize that the train tracks were on the opposite side of the road so that was a big rumbling surprise during the night! But no problem really. We recommend!
Sep 12, 2025 · Dorothy HoganWhat a great location! Beautiful views. Our campsite was large with big oak trees. The owner met us when we pulled in and lead us to the campsite. Absolutely perfect in every way. Very close to Cooperstown. We will come back next time we are in this area.
Aug 31, 2025 · Anita HarrisSuper quiet, easy to find. All the amenities were still closed for the season, but the campground has a very old school vibe that we just loved. Our site had both 50 and 30 amp power, water and even a sewer connection. I had plenty of room for my 40' fifth wheel and truck. There were trees on half the campground that will provide plenty of shade when the foilage comes in. They also have the best pizza place nearby that will deliver to the campground.... Dante's PIzzaria.
