Location and Accessibility

Sweetwater Valley Park is located at 366 Sweetwater Bend, Villa Rica, GA 30180, USA. Villa Rica, known as Georgia's original "City of Gold," is a charming city in Carroll County, West Georgia. This location offers a strategic balance of peaceful rural surroundings with convenient accessibility to major transportation routes and local points of interest.

The park is situated approximately 4½ miles from Interstate 20 (I-20), a major east-west thoroughfare in Georgia. This proximity to I-20 makes Sweetwater Valley Park an ideal stop for RVers traveling through the state, providing easy on-and-off access without venturing too far off the main highway. For locals within Georgia, Villa Rica is a manageable drive from many metropolitan areas. It's approximately 35 miles west of Atlanta, making it a viable option for a weekend escape from the city.

While the reviews mention a "tight" and "scary" entrance/driveway for larger rigs due to guard posts, trees, and narrowness, and excessive speed bumps, the location itself is generally considered good. RVers with larger vehicles are advised to approach slowly and carefully, and to communicate with the park if they have concerns about navigating the entrance. Once past the entrance, the park's internal roads and sites are generally well-regarded for their ease of access.

The natural setting is enhanced by Sweetwater Creek running through the property, skirting several hiking trails. This natural element, combined with the park's proximity to local attractions, provides a well-rounded experience for visitors.

We stayed in the new part and it was great! Loved how they had landscaping in between each lot, will be nice for privacy when it grows up a little more! Only reason that I'm not leaving 5 star is because of the entrance--After driving several hours a *scary* entrance is just too much. Am I going to hit all of these guard posts turning in? Could they widen the driveway, remove a few trees along the way and move the gates wider just a few feet? The driveway is smaller than a single lane. When we left I sent the kids walking down to the entrance so they could call and let me know that no one else was trying to enter while I was exiting. Towing a vehicle makes it impossible to back up if we encountered another rig coming in while we were exiting and it's far too narrow for two to pass each other. I really hope that Santa brings them a concrete grinder for Christmas so that they can minimize those steep speed bumps that are totally unnecessary (because the hills are so steep anyway) and smooth out all of the terrible bumps in the black top. But the rest of their systems were great and location was nice!

Watch the speed bumps! Lovely campground a few miles off the interstate. Easy access to large, newly added pull thru spots. Spacious spots, enough nature, but enough clear sky for the satellite internet to work. Landscaped between spots. Slightly terraced. Full hookup. As mentioned by other campers, the road in is tight and the speed bumps are terrible. They should grind them down or take them out. So excessive they could cause damage. The turn into the gated entrance would be very tight for a big rig, but anything towing is okay. We have a 40’ 5th wheel and had no trouble. Just go slow. Enjoyed our brief, overnight stay. Really nice spots.

This hidden gem is a must visit! We have visited rv parks all across this part of Georgia, and I have to say this park is by far our favorite. I was hesitant after reading reviews, but as a small business owner we decided to check it out for ourselves. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and available 24/7. Laundry facility is large and stocked and clean. We haven't had one single bad encounter and the lady who handles the reservations is prompt and extremely courteous. The entrance road is narrow, however is not hard to access or a nuisance. Please give this gem a try I promise you wont be let down!
