However, it is crucial to address an incident detailed in one review that raises serious concerns regarding staff conduct and safety. The description of an "elderly woman" (possibly staff) speeding dangerously into a campsite, "screaming at these people like I've never seen," and potentially endangering children, is a significant negative highlight. While the initial issue of a camper speeding on a golf cart is acknowledged as unsafe, the reported "atrocious way it was handled" and the "full blown rage, bullying, and putting peoples lives in danger" by the staff member are serious accusations. Prospective visitors should be aware of this reported incident and consider how such situations are managed, as safety and professional conduct are paramount in a family-oriented environment.

While specific, ongoing "promotions or special offers" for The Blue Canoe RV Resort are not explicitly detailed in the provided customer reviews, many RV resorts, particularly those with a wide range of amenities and a focus on seasonal stays, often have various incentives. Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding value ("food was very good and very well priced"), the resort likely aims to offer competitive pricing as part of its overall appeal. However, it's always worth inquiring directly about potential deals. Common types of promotions at RV resorts in Pennsylvania might include:

  • Seasonal or Extended Stay Discounts: Given its popularity as a destination for relaxation, the resort might offer reduced rates for bookings of a week or longer, or for full seasonal commitments.
  • Off-Peak Season Specials: Lower rates could be available during quieter times of the year, such as early spring or late fall, outside of major holidays.
  • Bundle Deals: Packages that combine a stay with specific activities or amenities might be offered, especially during special events or themed weekends.
  • Return Guest Incentives: Resorts often appreciate loyal customers and may have programs or discounts for repeat visitors.
  • Referral Programs: Encouraging existing happy campers to refer new guests can sometimes come with a benefit for both parties.

Overall, the staff is eager to ensure you have a "wonderful time as a family" at this beautiful riverside resort.

This was my first time at Blue Canoe....I was a visitor at a friends camp...Let me start by saying it is beautiful there..so much to do...swimming for the kids, biking, fishing a small shop and cafe...literally SO many things to do and being right on the water was so relaxing...truly one of the nicest RV parks I've been too.. Unfortunately though due to an incident we witnessed happen with another camper at their camp and I'm guessing someone who works there? I'm unsure...we had made friends with people and were at their camp fire...when all of a sudden an elderly woman comes FLYING in maxing the speed on the golf cart...I thought they knew her cause why would a random person come flying onto a site like that putting many peoples lives in danger? Including children? ..I quickly realized she wasn't a friend as she started screaming at these people like I've never seen...not only did she speed straight into the camp where our fire was...but I was worried she was going to hit me or one of the MANY small children in the area and that were staying at this site...From what I gathered the camper went too fast in a golf cart over one of the speed bumps with his kids...which isn't ok, nor safe...they most certainly shouldn't be doing that. However, the atrocious way it was handled....well...its made us decide we most likely won't be back. We can't put our childrens lives in danger because of an elderly woman that wants to scream at someone for driving a cart too fast when she herself could have severly injured MANY campers by speeding in the way she did onto the site. She handled the situation VERY unprofessionally when it could have been handled much better without putting multiple humans lives in danger. I am just thankful one of the smaller children weren't out running about cause this could have ended horribly. We appreciate the stay and it really is a beautiful place, we had a wonderful time as a family...but someone should possibly have a sit down or maybe watch some videos on how to handle situations properly instead of full blown rage, bullying, and putting peoples lives in danger...even though she was an older woman, she seemed unable to have a proper adult conversation which is oddly terrifying because people like that are fuses that could snap at anytime.

Blue Canoe is THE Place to stay. We camped for almost two months while working in Connellsville. One of our employees did not have a trailer, he was accommodated with a cabin! Our stay included October and November, in turn we experienced the picturesque season change from fall with 80 degree days to snow and below freezing when we departed. With the campground directly on the river and the sites looking at the mountain, the leaf change was magnificent. At all times, the staff is so friendly and helpful. The 24-hour laundry is clean and right next to the office, and camp store which has fantastic ice cream and serves pizza, sandwiches, fries, etc. Propane is filled on site and delivered back to your camper. Wi-Fi is included. The bike trail runs directly through the campground is great for taking walks! Thank you to Terry and all the staff for a wonderful stay!

We've been coming to this campground for 10+ years. It recently came under new ownership and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the improvements. Many sites now how level concrete patios, the new pool and hot tub are wonderful, and the Cafe food (particularly breakfast) is AMAZING. We were big fans of being able to text our food orders for pickup or delivery right to our site, as well as just putting items on a tab linked to our site so we didn't need to carry money or cards with us when visiting the pool. The mining sluice was a big hit for our toddler. Could use some updated shower rooms, but that's not really a complaint, just a suggestion as the current ones are just fine for what they are. We look forward to our annual visit for years to come!

Our favorite place right on the river. My family and I travel to many campgrounds and at Blue Canoe I always have an upcoming reservation because it’s simply the best. The grounds are pristine, the staff super friendly, you feel like family when you stay here. Make sure to order from the cafe, I am still dreaming of the grilled chicken salad, I should have got one at check out. There is just so much to do and the activities are top notch. If you’re looking for a kid friendly, safe atmosphere, and so much to do. This is your place!
