The Hohenwald Hideaway is located at 361 Swiss Colony Rd, Hohenwald, TN 38462, USA. This places it within the welcoming community of Hohenwald, the county seat of Lewis County, Tennessee. Hohenwald is known for its rural charm and being the home of the Elephant Sanctuary, a significant local attraction.
The park's address on Swiss Colony Road suggests it is situated in a more residential or semi-rural part of Hohenwald. While one customer review indicates a feeling of "literally camping in someone’s back yard" with "two subdivisions on both sides," this also points to its integration within the local community, offering an experience distinct from more isolated campgrounds. For Tennessee locals, this means convenient access to the town of Hohenwald for any necessary supplies, dining options, or local points of interest.
Its location in Hohenwald ensures good accessibility via state routes, making it a manageable stop for RVs traveling through Southern Middle Tennessee. While a review mentioned "Loud echos from all the cars passing," this implies proximity to roads, which can be a double-edged sword: it offers ease of access but might also entail some ambient noise. However, for those seeking an "overnight stay" or a base close to town amenities, this accessibility is a key advantage. The nature of being a "little RV park" suggests it is likely straightforward to navigate for RVs.
Overall, The Hohenwald Hideaway's location provides a balance of being within the town's reach for convenience, while aiming for a more relaxed setting than a busy urban area, catering to RV travelers seeking a functional base in the Hohenwald region.
The Hohenwald Hideaway aims to provide essential services for RV travelers, focusing on utility and convenience. Based on customer reviews and common RV park offerings, you can anticipate the following services:
While one customer review expresses concerns about privacy and cleanliness expectations, the positive feedback on utilities, showers, and laundry indicates that core functional services are provided to meet general RV traveler needs.
The Hohenwald Hideaway offers several features and highlights that are intended to make it a practical and comfortable stop for RV travelers. Based on positive customer feedback and general RV park characteristics, these are some of its key aspects:
It is important to note that customer reviews offer mixed perspectives. While some highlight cleanliness and friendly staff, others raise concerns about privacy due to cameras, close lot proximity, and noise, as well as perceived issues with owner responsiveness regarding facility temperature. This means that while core amenities are available, the overall experience can depend on individual expectations and priorities regarding space and privacy.

While some reviews raise concerns about privacy and site proximity, for those prioritizing functionality, clean core facilities, and accessible parking, The Hohenwald Hideaway presents a viable option. The positive mention of "friendly staff" also suggests a potentially helpful and welcoming atmosphere for guests. Very nice little RV park. No issues with utilities. Clean showers and laundry room And friendly staff. Great place to relax
Mar 04, 2025 · Julian GordonThis place is really nothing you’re expecting. You are literally camping in someone’s back yard. There is a man that lives in the house on the property , 50 yards from the campground, with all of his windows aimed at the ground. There are multiple cameras, so don’t expect any privacy. There are two subdivisions on both sides and the residents can look right at you the whole time you are “camping”. You hear the dogs barking all night and Loud echos from all the cars passing. You can literally touch the camper next you as the lots are so close together. They have a bathhouse but they lock one side so you are sharing one shower and one toilet with multiple people and the bath house is 80 plus degrees. We had simply asked the owners to turn the A/C down in bathhouse as it’s soo uncomfortable to shower or use the toilet in such a hot and moist environment and they threatened to lock it due to standing water in there. I got the vibe they just don’t want to have to do anything, they don’t want to have to clean they just expect the guests do everything. They refuse to give you your money back when you arrive and see it’s false advertisement and nothing like the photos. Don’t waste your money here, they aren’t considerate of their guests, they are extremely rude and always threatening. Side note: after our review the owner sent the sheriffs there and gave us a call to get out right away or we would be towed. LOL
Aug 28, 2024 · Heather RogersGreat place to camp! The owner is a great guy with a heart of gold. I would recommend this place to anyone. I've stayed in many campgrounds and cameras and people living on the property is very common. The ones who disrespect a buisness are usually the ones worried about that kind of stuff so ignore the negative comments because this is a great place to stay and great place to bring your family!
Sep 21, 2024 · Jamie ColesOverall horrible experience. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, it is NOT luxury. Don’t get fooled by the sideways pictures they post, you’re literally in his backyard. Any of the 5 star reviews are fake accounts the owner makes or has his friends do to boost his ratings. There were no other RVs except one besides ours for the last month.
