Location and Accessibility

Thousand Trails Carolina Landing is strategically located at 120 Carolina Landing Dr, Fair Play, SC 29643, USA. This address places it squarely in a region that offers both natural beauty and convenient access for South Carolina residents and visitors from neighboring states. Fair Play, true to its name, provides a peaceful backdrop for the campground, while its proximity to major routes ensures easy travel.

One of the campground's most significant location advantages is its direct access to Lake Hartwell. This massive reservoir, one of the most visited east of the Mississippi River, is a hub for water-based activities. For South Carolinians who love boating, fishing, sailing, or simply enjoying lakeside views, the convenience of having Lake Hartwell literally at the campground's doorstep is invaluable. The resort is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, creating a scenic and naturally shaded environment that enhances the camping experience.

For those traveling by RV, the park's location off of major interstates (specifically I-85, near the GA/SC state line) makes it a relatively straightforward drive. It’s approximately an hour from Greenville, SC, and also conveniently situated between larger metropolitan areas like Atlanta, GA, and Charlotte, NC. This accessibility means you can easily plan weekend trips or longer vacations without excessive travel time, a key consideration for local campers.

While the setting offers a feeling of being immersed in nature, you're not entirely isolated. Nearby towns offer essential services, and the staff at the campground are noted for their helpfulness, even assisting with package deliveries. The combination of serene natural surroundings and practical accessibility makes Thousand Trails Carolina Landing a desirable location for a South Carolina camping adventure.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a Thousand Trails property, Thousand Trails Carolina Landing's "promotions or special offers" are primarily tied to the wider Thousand Trails membership programs, rather than individual park-specific deals. For South Carolina locals interested in frequent camping or exploring multiple locations, understanding these membership options is key to finding value.

  • Thousand Trails Camping Pass: This is a core offering, allowing members to camp all year with no nightly fees at participating campgrounds within their chosen region (or across multiple regions with upgrades). This can represent significant savings for regular campers. Various pass levels exist, offering different booking windows and stay lengths (e.g., 14-day in/7-day out, or 21-day stays with park-to-park access).
  • Thousand Trails Cabin Pass: For those without an RV, or who enjoy glamping, the Cabin Pass provides access to unique vacation rentals at Thousand Trails locations for a low annual price, with no nightly rental fees (subject to conditions).
  • Annual Sites/Seasonal Stays: Thousand Trails offers options for securing a specific site for an entire season (1-5 months) or annually (6+ months). These often come with discounted yearly rates compared to daily or seasonal rates and provide a guaranteed spot and a sense of community. Current promotions may include savings on new annual site purchases.
  • Membership Upgrades: Existing Thousand Trails members may have opportunities to upgrade their memberships to gain enhanced benefits, such as longer advance booking windows, extended stay durations, or access to a larger network of campgrounds.
  • Trails Collection: This add-on program provides access to over 100 additional campgrounds, often Encore RV Resorts, offering even more destinations. This is typically available to new purchasers of a Thousand Trails Camping Pass or existing members.

For the most current information on pricing, membership options, and any specific short-term sales or discounts, it is always recommended to visit the official Thousand Trails website or contact them directly. They frequently have "Splash Sales" or limited-time offers on their Camping Passes and Annual Sites.

One of my favorite places to stay! This place is absolutely beautiful. The people here are helpful & kind. If you're looking for the beauty of nature, this is a good place to be. Put a window bird feeder out, take a hike, walk through the woods, sit by the lake! The sites themselves are mostly uneven & can run small but once you're set up, it's all worth it!

Whoever takes care of this part in fair play, need to be fired and somebody else needs to take care of it. Because everything is never been updated. I am very disappointed in this and do not like it won't go back until everything is back to where it should be the park has not been update and years. I don't recommend having to not have sewage. And restrooms, dirty and look like they're from the 1960s, I thought it was ridiculous. The girls in the office were good. The young man on the Golf cart, it helped us in the park. We're good. The people that are in charge of taking care of the park as far as the handyman, they suck.
