Thousand Trails Forest Lake offers a comprehensive array of services and amenities, ensuring a comfortable, convenient, and entertaining stay for all guests:
Thousand Trails Forest Lake stands out with a multitude of features and highlights that contribute to its high recommendations and popularity among campers:
While the campground offers many positives, it's worth noting the feedback about sales solicitation upon arrival, which some guests found to be a "definite turn off." This is a characteristic of Thousand Trails, a membership-based network, and potential visitors should be aware that membership discussions might occur. However, the overall positive experience and the helpfulness of individual staff members generally outweigh this concern for most visitors.
Thousand Trails, as a membership-based camping network, primarily offers promotions and special offers through its various membership tiers. While non-members can book stays, members often benefit from significantly reduced (or no) nightly fees within their chosen zone or across the entire network, depending on their membership level. This can lead to substantial savings for frequent campers. Membership benefits often include longer stay limits (e.g., up to 21 days), earlier booking windows (up to 180 days in advance for higher tiers), and access to "Park-to-Park" travel. Additionally, members might receive discounts on cabin rentals, "Getaway Weeks," and access to reciprocal programs like Resort Parks International (RPI) or the Trails Collection (which includes Encore RV Resorts). For North Carolina locals who plan to RV frequently, investing in a Thousand Trails membership could be a significant long-term promotion, offering widespread access and cost savings. It is advisable to contact Thousand Trails directly or visit their membership page to explore the various membership options (Camping Pass, Journey, Explorer, Adventure) and their associated benefits and costs, as these are the primary "promotions" they offer.
For inquiries, reservations, or more information about Thousand Trails Forest Lake, you can use the following contact details:
You can also visit their official website, typically found via a search for "Thousand Trails Forest Lake," to explore site availability, learn more about membership benefits, and book your stay online. Given its popularity and the positive reviews, especially for weekend and holiday stays, booking in advance is highly recommended to secure your preferred site and dates.
Thousand Trails Forest Lake is exceptionally well-suited for North Carolina locals for several compelling reasons. Firstly, its sheer breadth of amenities—including two pools, mini-golf, multiple sports courts, a large playground, and community activities like movie nights—ensures that there's always something to do, making it an ideal destination for families with children and active adults alike. The "incredibly friendly and helpful" staff further enhances the experience, creating a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages repeat visits.
Secondly, its location in Advance, NC, along the banks of the Yadkin River, offers a beautiful natural retreat that's still highly accessible from major population centers in North Carolina. The presence of a lake for kayaking and fishing, coupled with miles of walking and biking trails, provides ample opportunities for outdoor recreation right on the property. Furthermore, its proximity to attractions like Winston-Salem and the Yadkin Valley Wine Country means locals can easily combine their camping trip with urban exploration or vineyard tours. For North Carolinians who appreciate a well-appointed campground with diverse activities and a strong sense of community, Thousand Trails Forest Lake offers a convenient, amenity-rich, and highly recommended destination for creating lasting memories.

We had a fantastic stay at Thousand Trails Forest Lake! This campground truly has it all—clean bathroom and shower houses, two laundry facilities, a fun playground, two pools, mini golf, basketball, sand volleyball, tennis courts, and even a big screen for community movie nights. The lake was perfect for kayaking and fishing, and we loved exploring the peaceful forest walking trails. The gravel pads were level and the paved roads made getting around easy. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend this campground and would absolutely come back again!
Apr 10, 2025 · Melissa JackThis is a big place. Our first site wasn't what we wanted at all. Joey however took the time to find us the perfect spot. He was very helpful, definitely looking to please us. We drove better than 8 hrs,as we litterally went thru the gate my phone was ringing! The thousand trail rep was eager to sell. This was a definite turn off! Last thing we wanted was to be solicited at this point! Joey was a gem !
Mar 17, 2025 · Denise EganOur first camp at a TT campground because we got a free year of camping when we purchased our camper. If they are thinking this Campground would entice me to buy a membership, they are truly mistaken! TT assigns the site according to the length of your camper. I understand that. We have a small camper and they stuck us on a very small site where we didn’t have enough room to take our bikes off the rack. We could’ve dealt with that BUT… the site hadn’t been cleaned up and the site next to us looked like a junkyard!! It was a permanent site that was being vacated but they had left a grill that was tipped over, a utility trailer that was parked partially on our site, a shed of some sort and other miscellaneous junk. These sites are right on top of each other! We decided we would not accept the site but found out there were none other available. We left! Thankfully we didn’t have to pay but wouldn’t have stayed even if we did! The whole campground was very unkempt! I certainly wound never recommend Forest Lake campground!
Mar 24, 2025 · Candice SeilerCould be better. We were moved on the G side. When we first arrived, we wanted a handicap spot, which we didn’t get, they did move us a day later after the fact, which was nice. We really did appreciate that. We requested to possibly have access to the WiFi that we saw was “free” but apparently you have to “upgrade/pay extra” for that, which was a bummer. But we made-do. The bath houses are out of service, & the “family” one is always flooded, & this morning it had runoff sewage in the restroom. We were ‘dry camping’ & it was a mess when we wanted to take a shower. Even the nice one near the dumpsters aren’t maintained/cleaned properly, the floors are ALWAYS drenched in water, so they just keep the wet floor sign up & do nothing about the problem. The recreational center is a nice hangout spot, but all the arcade games you have to pay for, so it’s best to bring your own entertainment, it was also messy however as well, dog hair on furniture, questionable stains, trash. Upon our temporary stay here, we thought at first it was just us, but upon talking to other campers one day while doing laundry here, we concluded some of the workers & certain people (that seem to be here full time) are REALLY snooty. It’s a campground, not a Beverly Hills area bro…. They seem pretty laid back on rules here as well. Our first day here (about a week ago) they had a ‘no fires’ ban, & on the day it was still active, people were ACTIVELY BURNING FIRES. Didn’t feel too safe about that. Also a lot of dog owners had their dogs off leash, which is an NC state law that requires all pets to be on a lead/leash & close to their owners. We have family members that have been attacked by dogs off leash before, this made us also extremely uncomfortable. There are lots of children that run around active here, on bikes, etc. so we encourage others to please follow the driving speed, because apparently people think this area is a racetrack area, it’s not too bad….but we did notice people not paying attention to their surroundings/driving, or either not caring. We might be back, but not too sure. We look forward to seeing this place hoping to improve in the future. Thank you for reading, Godbless 🙏🏻💝
May 11, 2025 · RoseNice little spot for our layover. Getting level on the first spot they gave us proved impossible but they relocated us to another site. For a TT campground there is alot of seasonal campers. Makes you wonder what the site alottment seasonal to transient ratio is and how many TT transients can't get a site because it's 'booked' up. Bad enough you have to deal with it with encore parks. Just another bit of info failed to be disclosed by TT when they're trying to sell you a membership.
