We have had a camping membership for the last three years and we have enjoyed it very much. Due to how many of our family members have camping or Cabin passes, Thousand Trails in Whitney has accommodated our family to be together every time we meet here. I attribute this to the help of Amanda in the front office. Dana, the membership specialist is excellent to explain everything about your membership. And I would like to commend Cindy for all of her help also.

Once upon a time not that long ago we loved going here. We purchased a “membership” and even upgraded our membership. Friendly clean easy access helpful people. However, 5 or 6 years ago we had a bad experience with staff and things were going downhill fast! Today we obtained a day pass to drive around and see if there had been any upgrades. The only thing I saw as an upgrade was the inside of the welcome center, but the outside the siding is falling off. The one or two potholes are now in the thousands. One area looked like a meteor storm hit. Half of the sites are unusable due to electrical issues and being over grown. It is so sad!!! I wish I had photos of before to show you how sad it is!!!

We have been going to Thousand Trails Lake Whitney for the last couple of years. This is one of our favorite Thousand Trails Campgrounds and we have been to a lot of them. Talk about Trails, this place has all kinds of Trails to explore. In the Spring, the Blue Bonnets' and wild flowers are absolutely beautiful. Plus the property borders Lake Whitney for a fun day fishing. It has LOTS OF TREES which gives you plenty of shade from the Texas Sun. The Staff is AWESOME and exemplifies true Texas hospitality. You can see the improvements they are making to the different building like REC Center and Welcome Center. ONLY wish they would improve the Roads. The Roads are terrible!! We were here last year and they were bad then and seems to be even worse now. Large pot holes at the gate, extremely rough area down by the bridge over the stream and up the hill. IN and Around "A" loop 105 and 106 and a few other places along the Main Road after the Gate. Just Drive REALLY SLOW and you won't have too much trouble. Other than that, the Pool and Miniature Golf as well as the REC Center are GREAT places to relax and have some fun! They have lots of activities so you won't be bored. We love Thousand Trails Lake Whitney and will continue to come back often. .

We always enjoy our time here at lake Whitney thousand trails. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The sites are large and well wooded. Which we enjoy. The only downfall is that some of the roads are quite rough which makes it unpleasant on our e-bikes. So far this time our visit has been very nice and peaceful.
