Location and Accessibility

Trade River Equestrian Campground is located at 3008 Evergreen Ave, St Croix Falls, WI 54024, USA, deep within the scenic Governor Knowles State Forest. This placement is key to its appeal, as Governor Knowles State Forest itself is a significant natural resource, stretching for 55 miles along the picturesque St. Croix River in northwestern Wisconsin, spanning Polk and Burnett counties.

The campground's address places it in close proximity to St. Croix Falls, a charming town that offers various services and amenities, including shops and eateries, which can be convenient for campers to access. However, the primary draw of this location is its direct access to the vast trail system within the state forest. Despite its immersed natural setting, access to the campground is generally straightforward, though it's important to note that while the campground is open year-round, the roads leading to it are not plowed during winter months, which could affect accessibility in heavy snow. The location ensures that riders can quickly transition from their campsite to over 40 miles of dedicated horse trails, providing an immediate connection to the forest's diverse terrain and stunning landscapes. This blend of natural immersion and reasonable proximity to town services makes Trade River Equestrian Campground an ideal base for multi-day riding adventures in Wisconsin.

We rented a camper from r and r campers 22 miles away and so glad we did. No showers but plenty of great fresh water for the horses. Flies weren't too bad as long as you keep them sprayed. Use fly boots to help minimize the ticks. Loves the trails. Will be better next year when trees grow up more. 2021 the long trail mostly open riding due to storm last year. They have trails cleaned up very well!!! We will go again.

Horse's are known to camp here some sites are close together some are triple sites for bigger groups. You may need a teny tiny bit of backup skill not much to park in a couple sites with long 30 foot trailers

Great ride, with plenty of trails. The trail markers aren't clear though. They don't have the "you are here" mark on the trail maps.
