Customer Reviews
Very family friendly! Cabin was nice and clean. Grounds were in great shape. Live music on the Sat. Evening was really nice. We choose the 5 mile float. Equipment was in good condition. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic place to stay at. Unfortunately, it heavily rained on our second night, and we were upgraded by the owners free of charge to a cabin. I also appreciate that you’re shuttled at the beginning of the day to your floating location. At the end you’re back almost right in front of your campsite making for easy clean up/pack up. Definitely will keep in mind next time I’m in for some camping!
Wonderful experience. The owners are friendly and helpful. Also, at the bar & grill. Tasty food there. The cabins are nice and have 3 queen size beds. Beautiful view of the river from the front porch of the cabins! By the way, after looking at a few other reviews, I felt the need to further explain my experience there: There is NOT any fee for parking & eating at the restaurant/bar & grill. If you bring your own canoe/kayak, the fee is for taking you & your boat up river for the short float, or picking you up that evening on the long float. I even called ahead, to check on the river level several times before I was able to make the trip down. Karen helped me & told me how the river was running (high/ low/ just right etc). My second trip down, I knew I would arrive after Don had left the bar & grill. I called down there, Don communicated with Karen, and they left the key to my cabin for me. They are kind, helpful & wonderful people who make you feel welcome. The food at the bar & grill is amazing. They will even pack you a sac lunch for your float trip. They run specials that are off menu, also. The back porch of the bar is up high and overlooks the river and gives you a beautiful view of the twin bridges over the river. The shop next door has about anything you could ask for. They even have water shoes for sale. They have beer, ice, some food items, dry bags for the float etc. The cabins are clean and rustic looking. There is a shower & toilet in the cabins. They do provide a comforter/ quilt & two pillows for each bed. However, you need to bring your own sheets, pillow cases and bath towels. There is a microwave, mini fridge, and small set of table & chairs in each cabin. There is a big building with 3 bathroom stalls and 3 shower stalls for the campers.
This place is closed. Phone number and website are both out of service. They were the only float place that did the upper northfork. I was disappointed not to be able to float it when we came all the way down here and hit the water level just right. We went to Pettit and they took good care of us.
* Edited to Add - the reply to this speaks volumes. It is untrue and a bit laughable. Reputation, professionalism and communication is important. The snidy remarks in reply show a lack of that. We are more than able to afford any place we would like 😂 - but what a remark to try and turn around a truthful review. A professional way to handle this as a business owner would be different. Maybe a phone call, apology or adult conversation. Hopefully a truthful review will help this place care more about those things and future experiences for campers only gets better. Moving on 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 This place has potential and great history. The campground is nice. But the communication with the new ownership is unacceptable. We had to call multiple times to make reservations. The lady we spoke to was unclear on if they could haul our personal kayaks. Then said they could since we were paying to camp - after multiple attempts to get an answer. This is something that needs to be known and clearly communicated before arrival. Upon arrival, nobody was there to guide us on where to go. We didn’t have access to the campground bathrooms/showers until the NEXT day because they forgot to give us the code. THEN - there was so much confusion the next day. It seemed like nobody knew what in the world their rules or fees were. After being told that picking up their campers at 4:00 and 6:00 is “what they do” - they then tried to charge us $80 to haul our kayaks. Cool. IF we would have known that - we would have hauled our own or paid, having known ahead. No biggie. But that was another thing that was not communicated. Did I mention they were 20 minutes late to pick us up? I hope this place turns it around because it really does have potential. The bus driver is a pleasant guy 😊 But with the way we were treated upon departing (very immature and unprofessional) we will not bring our family back. They weren’t concerned about making things right or their customers. It’s Sunburst Ranch for us.
