For many Floridians navigating the housing market, mobile home parks can sometimes present themselves as an immediate and seemingly affordable option. Union Drive Mobile Home Park, located in Lakeland, Florida, is one such community that has served as a temporary or longer-term residence for various individuals seeking housing solutions. When considering any living arrangement, especially in a dynamic market like Florida's, it's essential to gather as much factual information as possible to make an informed decision.
Lakeland, a centrally located city, offers a blend of urban amenities and natural beauty, making it an attractive place for many to live. Mobile home parks within such areas often cater to a diverse demographic, from those on a tight budget to individuals seeking flexible living arrangements. Union Drive Mobile Home Park, specifically, has been noted by some residents as a "cheaper" alternative to other options, like hotels, for short-term stays, indicating its role in providing immediate, low-cost shelter.
However, it is equally important to acknowledge and address the experiences shared by former residents, which highlight significant concerns regarding property conditions, management practices, and overall living quality. This article aims to provide an honest and direct overview of Union Drive Mobile Home Park, based on publicly available reviews. Our goal is to present a factual picture to help Floridians understand what to expect from this particular community, allowing them to weigh the reported benefits against the considerable drawbacks before making any commitments.
Union Drive Mobile Home Park is situated at 405 Union Dr, Lakeland, FL 33805, USA. This address places the property within the city of Lakeland, a significant hub in Polk County, Central Florida. The location offers a certain degree of accessibility to key areas within Lakeland.
The park is considered "car-dependent" with a Walk Score of 22, meaning most errands will require a vehicle. However, it boasts a "Bike Score" of 52, indicating it's somewhat bikeable. For drivers, the area provides connections to various points of interest in Lakeland. Major roads are generally accessible, allowing for commutes to shopping centers, dining options, and other essential services. For instance, Market Square Shopping Center is about 1.1 miles away (a 4-minute drive), and North Lakeland Plaza is 1.7 miles away (a 5-minute drive).
Beyond immediate necessities, Lakeland's central position in Florida provides convenient access to major cities like Tampa (approximately 35 miles west) and Orlando (about an hour's drive east). This means residents are within reach of major employment centers, regional airports, and world-renowned attractions such as theme parks and coastal beaches. Local Lakeland attractions include Hollis Gardens and Explorations V Children's Museum, both within a few miles. Based on the provided resident feedback, Union Drive Mobile Home Park primarily offers mobile home units for rent, or potentially for rent-to-own arrangements. The services highlighted by the reviews primarily pertain to the condition of these units and the responsiveness of maintenance.
Prospective residents should conduct a thorough inspection of any unit and clarify all included services and utilities with management before committing.
The features and highlights of Union Drive Mobile Home Park, as conveyed by resident experiences, present a challenging picture.
It is clear from these reviews that while the cost may be low, residents have encountered significant issues regarding the living conditions and management integrity.
Based on the provided customer reviews and general public data, Union Drive Mobile Home Park does not appear to offer typical "promotions" or "special offers" in the way a conventional business might. The core appeal, as gleaned from one review, is its comparative affordability as a temporary housing solution ("just cheaper... then a hotel right now").
However, some listings associated with the address indicate potential "rent-to-own" programs. For example, one unit was advertised with an "$18,000 Sale price," a "$3,250 Down payment," and the remaining balance financed over 60 months, resulting in payments of "$245.83 (mobile home payment) + $850 (lot rent) = $1,095 for 60 months." After 60 months, the payment would reportedly drop to only lot rent. Another listing mentioned a similar structure with a higher purchase price and a combined monthly payment of $1433.33 for 60 months, after which only $850 lot rent would be due.
These "rent-to-own" arrangements could be seen as an offer, making homeownership (of the mobile home itself) more accessible. However, given the severe negative reviews regarding management practices and property conditions, any such offers should be approached with extreme caution. It is vital for any prospective renter or buyer to obtain all terms in writing, seek independent legal counsel, and thoroughly inspect the property and its electrical systems before signing any agreements or making any payments. Due to the highly negative nature of the reviews, the park's primary "offer" is its very low entry cost, which seemingly comes with significant risks.
For direct inquiries regarding Union Drive Mobile Home Park, potential availability of units, or to attempt to clarify any concerns raised in public reviews, you can find them at the following address. Please note that while a phone number was not explicitly provided for the park's management in the given data, general apartment listing sites sometimes provide contact details for specific units within the park.

It is strongly advised for any interested party to visit the property in person, inspect units thoroughly, and attempt to speak with current residents to gather firsthand information before making any financial commitments.
Based on the provided information, Union Drive Mobile Home Park in Lakeland, Florida, presents a highly complex and challenging scenario for locals seeking housing. While it appears to offer a "cheaper" immediate solution compared to alternatives like hotels, and potentially features "rent-to-own" options that might appeal to those with limited upfront capital, these purported advantages are overshadowed by severe negative feedback.
The core issue of suitability for Floridians hinges on the reported living conditions and management practices. Reviews explicitly detail concerns about houses "falling apart," "deteriorating" structures, "bumpy" floors, and non-functional or poorly provided appliances. More critically, multiple residents accuse the park of being a "huge giant scam," involving large deposits, a failure to make repairs, harassment, false information, and unjust evictions leading to financial loss. These are extremely serious allegations that speak directly to the safety, stability, and financial well-being of residents.
For a local Floridian, the primary consideration when seeking housing should be a safe, stable, and legally sound living environment. The overwhelmingly negative reviews about Union Drive Mobile Home Park suggest that these fundamental aspects are severely compromised. While its low cost might make it an option of last resort for some, the potential for significant financial loss, uninhabitable conditions, and abusive management practices means it carries substantial risks. Therefore, while it might fulfill a desperate need for immediate, very low-cost shelter, it is not broadly suitable for locals seeking a reliable or secure long-term home. Floridians exploring this park should proceed with extreme caution, verify all claims independently, and seek legal advice before entering into any agreements.

I don't know; my boyfriend did move in before it was done. It's just cheaper, along with his friend, then a hotel right now. But the house he's in is falling apart. The guy is fixing it, but i don't trust it staying up much longer. The front wall of the house is soft and deteriorating. The old guy was trying to tearing down and rebuild it though. He finally got a younger guy to fix the rest of the house. The floors are bumpy and will redue it. And the AC is striped out. Also they didn't provide the fridge and got a stove that the cord didn't fit the outlet. My dad had bought the right one for it. Dad checked the electrical current and didn't like the looks of it. He hates the condition as much as I do.
Aug 01, 2022 · Deanne MHuge giant scam. Do not waste your money or time or humanity for this place because you will be highly disappointed. I'd dedicate my life to show everyone what they were getting into. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM! No matter what you will have more freedom and less headache living in a hotel or the streets of Lakeland. They take a huge deposit, never fix your trailer or any building they own at that. They will hound you, abuse you, tell you lies and the place is rigged to make the renters lose money and kick you out keeping all the money they stole from you and you will be left on the street anyway because they will evict you for absolutely nothing. Go and talk to anyone who works there and see for yourself and you will see red flags
Aug 29, 2022 · Zachary KamalThe worst mobile home park in Lakeland. If you’re up for trailer trash tenants like lot 10 and couple others that are nothing but fighting, drugs, and terrorizing the park, and landlord does not care about anything except the rent then this is the place for you! Also terrible conditions mobile homes inside and out, always refusing to make repairs til SEVERAL months later! Infested with about 30 sick cats with fleas and natts! If there’s wholes in the walls don’t expect a new wall sheet! Jimmy will come months later just to drill a piece of aluminum or ply over it leaving the walls looking very ugly! If you are one to get important mail and packages all the time PLEASE get a P.O. Box at post office because lot 10 which is across from mailboxes will steal your packages and open mail containing credit cards! Since lot 10’s arrival the park has gotten worse than it is and landlord doesn’t care except for rent paid! I’m telling you see for yourself you will regret it guaranteed.
