Viborg Campgrounds is situated at 304 N Peterson St, Viborg, SD 57070, USA. This central location in Viborg makes it incredibly easy to access, whether you're arriving from a major highway or exploring the local area. Its proximity to downtown Viborg means that essential services and local attractions are just a short walk or drive away. For travelers who value convenience and the ability to quickly resupply or grab a meal, this location is a significant advantage. While it's located on the "down side of a hill," which is a practical consideration during heavy rain, its accessibility remains a key benefit. The campground is designed for easy back-in access for vehicles, and its clear signage ensures you’ll find it without a hitch. Its position within the town offers a unique blend of natural surroundings and urban convenience, providing a different experience than more remote camping spots.
When it comes to services, Viborg Campgrounds focuses on providing the essentials for a comfortable, short-term stay. They understand that sometimes all you need is a reliable place to park and power up.
- Electrical Hookups: Each of the three camping spots is equipped with both 30 amp and 110 electrical connections. This is a crucial amenity for RV users and campers who rely on electricity for their appliances, lighting, and charging needs.
- Individual Campsites: There are three dedicated camping spots available, ensuring a more intimate and less crowded experience compared to larger campgrounds.
- Fire Pits: Every spot comes with a designated fire pit, perfect for enjoying a campfire under the South Dakota sky, roasting marshmallows, or simply staying warm on a cool evening.
- Picnic Tables: Each campsite also includes a picnic table, providing a convenient surface for outdoor dining, playing games, or simply relaxing.
- Water Access (Implied): While not explicitly stated, most campgrounds offering electrical hookups also provide access to water, which is a standard expectation for RV camping. It's always a good idea to confirm water access when calling to reserve.
Viborg Campgrounds boasts several features and highlights that make it a standout choice for specific types of travelers. It's not a luxury resort, but its strengths lie in its practicality and local charm.

- Maximum Stay: Campers are allowed to stay for up to 7 nights, offering flexibility for those who wish to extend their stay in the area without breaking the bank.

- Quiet and Simple: For those who prefer a quiet and less elaborate camping experience, Viborg Campgrounds offers a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of larger, more commercial campgrounds.
At Viborg Campgrounds, the primary "promotion" is its consistently low nightly rate of $10.00. Unlike many campgrounds that offer seasonal discounts or loyalty programs, Viborg Campgrounds maintains this affordable rate year-round, embodying its commitment to being an economical option for all visitors. This straightforward pricing model simplifies the booking process and ensures transparency for all potential campers. While there aren't complex promotional bundles or limited-time deals, the enduring value of a $10.00 per night stay, especially considering the included electrical hookups, fire pits, and picnic tables, is a continuous benefit for those looking to maximize their travel budget. It’s a promotion in itself, a commitment to affordability for the community and travelers alike.

Customer Reviews
This makes a good and inexpensive location to stop over for a night on your way elsewhere. There are 3 camping spots located on top of each other, offering, 30 amp and 110 electrical. Each spot has a fire pit and picnic table. It's located on the down side of a hill so if it rains it will all sit on these 3 locations. Pads are gravel dirt and require you to back in. (3 words of warning)The only trees in campground are located at the campsite and they are full of dead wood. The locals walk their dogs there and DON'T pick up the landmines and they are EVERYWHERE. Campground is located across the road from sewer pits. Downtown is located just blocks away. People are very friendly. Cafe, grocery store, fuel, movie theater, hardware store and more. There are no playgrounds on site. You are allowed to stay up to 7 nights. Cost is $10.00 per night. You must call the city hall number posted on sign when you camp.
