Unlike some larger, commercially-focused campgrounds, Voorhees provides a back-to-basics state park camping environment, where the focus is on natural beauty, extensive trails, and a peaceful atmosphere. The park's history is rooted in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), which established the current roads, shelters, and trail systems, giving the area a rustic, maintained feel.
Voorhees State Park Campground operates seasonally, welcoming campers from April 1st through October 31st. It offers a variety of site types to suit different needs, from family tent and trailer sites to large group areas and rustic shelters. Customer feedback consistently highlights the clean facilities, noting that the bathrooms and hot showers are well-maintained, which is a major comfort for any camper. Visitors also appreciate that each site is generously equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring, making it easy to enjoy traditional campfire cooking and fellowship. While the park is dog-friendly on its extensive network of hiking trails (provided pets are leashed), it's important for local users to note the specific rules: pets are generally not permitted in the campground overnight, which helps maintain a pristine and quiet sleeping environment for all guests.

Nice well marked trails. A few small uphill climbs but nothing too strenuous. Park is dog friendly on a leash. I did see a black bear in the morning. I went in early September. As with most trails it could use a few more markers to make it easier to navigate. Trail is mostly dirt with a few exposed roots and some bigger rocks.
Sep 05, 2025 · Mike S.I enjoy camping here. The bathrooms/showers are clean, each site has a picnic table/ fire ring, and there is a communal playground for the kiddos. BUT, please, wherever you go camping, use good camp etiquette and keep your music and general noise volume on the low side out of respect for your camping brethren.
Aug 27, 2024 · E NBeautiful , quiet State Park with fun trails. We love the trail along the stream . Wear appropriate footwear. The easiest trail is to campground . Campground was clean and comfortable . Park itself is very clean and people do not litter one of the top reasons I love this park . They have areas for tents as well as log huts for rent. There are 2 playgrounds with shelters in the park. Park is wonderful for kids as there are all kinds of animals and birds. Just keep in mind that the main road is little bumpy.
Dec 09, 2023 · dilkachor29Visited in the summer. Not much to do here. Trails were not enjoyable although I didn't go to the stream trail. I took the vista trail, which has a terrible view of a small parch of grass, past the observatory which was closed. Not sure when it's open. I took the other iverlook trails that overlook a hill with no views. The bathrooms are nice but i don't think its worth staying here instead of the adjacent campground
