Customer Reviews
First time glamping. Stayed in the Dancin’ Wolf Yurt. We could’ve hosted a dance party it was so spacious. Creatively decorated. We are used to tenting so we brought quite a bit with us but did not need much. Birders would love it. So nice being steps from the river. Bathrooms were clean but we both had issues with the showers being scolding hot. We could not regulate the temperature. The ladies handicapped shower was OK. Small property. The yurts are spread out but there are campsites in between. I would definitely opt for the yurt. So many amenities. #yurtlife
Great view, ok-ish Yurt, horrible bath house ! We’ve spent 2 nights at rock tavern river kamp with our 10month old and unfortunately I can’t recommend. First the good things: the view at the river is amazing and the fire place gives cosy vibes. The yurt itself is ok. Basically what we expected and like shown on the pictures. A bit shabby in some parts but overall a good place to sleep in. Some chairs & plates and a knife would have been nice for a full clamping experience. Now to the bad part: the bath house is unacceptable. It’s dark, old and not usable like it should. The water in the shower is so hot (and can’t be adjusted) I barely couldn’t wash my hair & while it sounds a bit picky it’s not when considering that my baby couldn’t take a shower with these temperatures. In addition to that the whole bath house smells very very bad - like rotten eggs. The worth thing is that I have read a few negative comments about exactly those issues and it seams like nothing is changing and it’s kind of accepted what I find very sad as it’s worsening the whole experience.
I cannot express just how much we enjoyed being at this campground. It was clean, peaceful, and the river almost a spa to enjoy during the summer heat. The close proximity to the other campers almost created a mini community that enjoy the space together. I was appreciative of the 11 o clock quite down time it made for such a calming night time experience. Annette goes above and beyond to make sure her guest are happy and that the camp is in tip top shape. The yurts are wonderful to look at and very clean and included enough kitchen gear to help so you don't need to bring a whole kitchen yourself. We really can't wait to get a chance to stay here again. Hopefully in the same Dancing Wolf Yurt if we can snag a reservation with it!
The space is VERY SMALL!! My group of 4 stayed in tents. The space is right on the water and enjoyable if you're able to block out the other campers in your pocket. The other campers were all nice. The grounds are clean and maintained nicely, the bathhouse was clean and cute, very welcoming! Fire wood was available and the location is by the local town so you can just run and grab what you need when you need it. Fishing, swimming, floating is available at this location; lots of various wildlife to enjoy; can pay extra and use the doc down the road to drop off for a float, and end at the campsite. I enjoyed the built in benches by the fire pit.
Camp is very close to the road where people will honk at you. Campsites are all very close together and sometimes people have trouble following the quiet hours rule. The water is fine, but it tastes and smells heavily like sulfur just fyi. Campsite #6 has very little shade but I think the other ones have more. Management was very kind, these are just the realities of the space that we weren’t expecting as experienced campers.
