Apollo MHC About
For many Oklahomans, particularly those seeking affordable housing options within the bustling Oklahoma City metro area, mobile home parks often represent a practical and accessible pathway to independent living. Apollo MHC, located in a well-established part of Oklahoma City, is one such community. Like many mobile home parks, it offers a distinct living experience that comes with its own set of advantages and considerations, primarily centered around cost-effectiveness and a sense of community. Understanding these dynamics is key for anyone in Oklahoma contemplating mobile home park living.
Living in a mobile home park is often about finding an economical solution that provides a plot of land for your manufactured home, along with access to essential utilities. Apollo MHC aims to provide this fundamental framework for its residents. It's a place where you'll find a diverse group of individuals, each seeking a home that fits their budget and lifestyle. As with any community, the experience can vary, and prospective residents should always consider all aspects of what it means to live in such a park, including the community environment, management interactions, and overall safety and security measures.
Location and Accessibility
Apollo MHC is situated at 1617 SE 44th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73129, USA. This address places it in a well-connected part of Oklahoma City, offering residents convenient access to various amenities and major transportation routes. For Oklahomans, particularly those working or studying in the OKC area, the location provides practical accessibility to key destinations.
The park boasts quick access to major interstates such as I-35 and I-240, which makes commuting around Oklahoma City relatively straightforward. This means reaching restaurants, running errands, or engaging in recreational activities across the city is generally a breeze. It's approximately 15 minutes west of Tinker Air Force Base, making it a potential housing option for military personnel and their families. Furthermore, Apollo MHC is within a short driving distance to several educational institutions, including OU Health Sciences Center (about 8 minutes away), Rose State College (around 12 minutes), and Oklahoma City Community College (about 11 minutes), making it convenient for students or those employed at these institutions. Shopping centers like Southeast Plaza (0.8 miles away) and Oakcliff Shopping Center (1.7 miles away) are also easily accessible, providing immediate options for daily needs. While the area is considered car-dependent, with few transit options, its proximity to downtown Oklahoma City, Myriad Botanical Gardens, and the Oklahoma City Zoo provides a good balance of urban convenience and access to popular attractions within a reasonable drive.
Services Offered
Mobile home parks typically provide core services related to lot rental and community upkeep. At Apollo MHC, residents can expect the foundational services necessary for living in a manufactured home community.
- Lot Rental: The primary service offered is the rental of individual plots of land where residents can place their mobile homes. This provides a designated space within the community.
- Utility Hookups: Standard utility connections, including water, sewer, and electricity, are typically available at each lot. This infrastructure allows residents to connect their homes to essential services. It's important to clarify the billing structure for these utilities, as sometimes they are directly billed to the resident by providers, or they may be included in the lot rent, or sub-metered by the park.
- Community Grounds Maintenance: Apollo MHC maintains landscaped grounds. This typically means that common areas, such as internal roads and shared green spaces, are managed by the park to ensure a presentable and navigable environment for residents.
- Trash Services: While not explicitly detailed, most mobile home parks arrange for waste collection, whether through communal dumpsters or individual pickups, to ensure the cleanliness of the community.
- On-site Management: The presence of management, even if varying over time, indicates that there is a point of contact for residents regarding park rules, rent payments, and general inquiries.
Features / Highlights
Beyond the basic services, Apollo MHC offers a few features that contribute to the living experience. These aspects help define the community's character and what residents can expect from their day-to-day life within the park.
- Landscaped Grounds: The park features landscaped grounds, which contribute to a more aesthetically pleasing and pleasant environment for residents. Well-maintained common areas can enhance the overall quality of life within the community.
- Soccer Field: A notable amenity is the presence of a soccer field. This provides a dedicated recreational space for residents, particularly families and children, offering an outdoor venue for sports and activities within the park itself. This can be a significant benefit for active residents.
- Convenient Location: As mentioned, its proximity to major highways, Tinker Air Force Base, and various shopping centers, hospitals, and educational institutions is a major highlight. This accessibility makes it easy for residents to navigate Oklahoma City for work, education, healthcare, and leisure activities.
- Community Atmosphere (as experienced by some): While experiences can vary, at least one resident described their six months living there as "very peaceful and neighbors looked out for each other." This suggests that a positive community dynamic can exist within the park, where residents interact and support one another.
- Affordable Living Potential: Mobile home parks like Apollo MHC are generally known for offering more affordable housing options compared to traditional stick-built homes or apartment rentals in the same urban area. This cost-effectiveness remains a primary draw for many Oklahomans.
Promotions or Special Offers
Specific promotions or special offers for Apollo MHC are not publicly detailed. Mobile home parks, particularly those focusing on long-term lot rentals, may not always advertise short-term deals like apartment complexes. Customer Reviews
Wasn't so bad when we moved in about 6 years ago. Has gone downhill A LOT since then. There are a lot of issues and it seems like they get a new landlady every 6 months, but most of them don't do anything anyways. Our house was recently shot and someone was recently murdered in the house behind us too. A lot of thefts, so many that any good neighbor has moved out. And they still want to raise rent every year! Do NOT recommend living here!
I know mobile park homes have a reputation of being trashy and dangerous. I can honestly say that the 6months I lived here were very peaceful and neighbors looked out for each other.
The lady that runs the office is never there. She doesn't know what's exactly going on in her park. I would not recommend anyone ever going to this park. Better park around the corner to the SE (near eastern) than this one.
Why don't trailer parks make there residents keep a clean yard cause this is one of them parks that are pretty nasty so I give no stars.. but I have too so this one star I didn't even want to give
Just spoke with a rep of the property. $2200 off the rip😆😆😆y’all really paying that much!!! I thought trailers were less expensive
