Was checking out a new campground for us and we should have stopped and turned around at the rotted, falling down Ausable Pines sign at the entrance, but we stopped at the office and when we opened the door a wave of cigarette smoke hit us in the face. The office hasn't been cleaned in who knows for how long. The lady inside gave us a map and we drove through the park anyway and it is so run down it isn't even funny! Some campers are so dilapidated there was mildew covering the inside of the windows. Huge piles of pine needles all over. The Rec. Hall/Laundry building seemed abandoned and dilapidated. I refused to get out of our vehicle it was so bad. This Campground should be condemned.
May 26, 2025 · Matthewseven13When I called to make reservation, the woman was very nice. We stayed at the campground for two nights, we had reservation’s for three nights, but we had to leave a day early for personal reasons. We arrived very early on check in day, we were allowed to go to our campsite, even though we were about two hours early. Our site was clean, grass freshly mowed. Many seasonal campers there, most are in good shape, pretty flowers and decorated nicely. Many kids in campground, however they were friendly and respectful. If we are in the area, we would stay here again. I would like for them to have a new road sign. It is old and needs to be freshened up. Thank you Ausable Pines for an enjoyable stay.
Jun 03, 2020 · Susan ThompsonVery disappointed in this campground. The conditions weren't what we expected upon arrival, called back to cancel, and get at least two of the three nights refunded, and of course no one would answer the phone on numerous calls. The bathrooms were in horrible condition, and the place was just nasty! I would not recommend anyone use this campground.
