Customer Reviews
We decided to stay during Thanksgiving weekend for something to do with one of the kids and his 10 yrs. old son, thinking there was an entertainment park for the little guy to enjoy. I did ask if the camping ground was open, not understanding the amusement park was separate from the camp grounds. Unfortunately nothing was open for him. The Camping Area: The sites are drive through and the roads are easy to drive on. The views by the water are nice and back towards last row. The lady at the office was pleasant, helpful and friendly. It was $75 off season with nothing to do: more expensive than I'd like to pay considering there's nothing open except the camping park. Our 10yr. old grandson said if everything was open it would be more fun but he still likes it here and wants to return. They have limited 50Amp electric spots for a 30' RV with water and sewage, so come early to get one. Most of the spots have water and electric hookups from what I can tell as well as a couple of little cabins. The area looked a little worn for the use but possibly due to the winter months. We stayed inside most of the time due to rain and cold but this didn't really hinder us because it was a quiet and decent stay. We'd like to try this park again during the warmer weather. All in all if the weather was warmer and dry it's a place for the traveler with children to enjoy an amusement park, racing, some fishing possibly, and a place to walk and enjoy the outdoors a bit. If you're a senior and just want a quiet get away during the off season, this could work. Go back to the back row for the best scenic views.
Have stayed at this camp last 14 years during the GS nationals. First couple of years it was 25 a night for a tent site. Good value for the price. It slowly went up from there to now 65 a night. Nothing has been improved or upgraded. If anything its gotten worse. The bath house in Shelter one needs serious upgrades. I bring my own showerhead and towel rack as there is nothing in the stalls . A bench or chair would be great to set stuff on. There was no mirror in the mens side. I put one up on my own, Your welcome. Si if the price is gonna keep going u the quality of the facility should also
Our family stayed there over the Fourth of July. It was not a good stay. Most of all the good spots are taken by long term campers. Our site flooded when it rained and the septic backed up. Called staff and they told us to move. Had to pack up the camper in ankle deep water. The bathrooms have residential style toilets and most are broken. No soap either. When we complained the host told us “well other people have a good time”. Seems obvious the campground isn’t really cared for and they just want your money. We won’t be back.
I have camped at many places and this was the most unkept an uncared for place I’ve ever stayed. Paying a premium for the full hook ups and paved campsite was way overpriced. I also initially paid for 50 amp hook up and when I went to look for the 50 amp marked on the map, I came to find out the power box was only 30 amp. I was able to get a refund for the difference, but still. With all the traffic that they bring from the different events I would’ve expected much more from a place like this. We have stayed at local campgrounds with less amenities and better camping conditions. To me this is not a campground. It’s a trailer park.
Great parking areas with water, electric and septic hookups. They do have some spots for tent camping as well. I really thing a playground area for kids would be a great addition!
