Managed by Aitkin County: Being a county park, it often implies a focus on public access and maintaining natural resources, usually at a reasonable cost.
As a county-run park, Berglund Park Campground typically operates on a standardized fee structure rather than offering frequent commercial-style "promotions" or "special offers." However, the value proposition lies in its affordable rates and the comprehensive amenities provided for that price point.
Based on publicly available information from Aitkin County, the standard camping fee is:
-
Camping Rate: $30.00 per night per site. This competitive rate includes electric hookups, access to flush toilets, showers, and other park amenities.
-
RV Dump Station Fee: A nominal fee of $5.00 is charged for use of the RV dump station, which is a common practice at many campgrounds.
-
Reservation System: Reservations for campsites are available online, allowing campers to secure their preferred dates in advance. This is a convenient "offer" that provides peace of mind, especially during peak seasons.
While there aren't traditional discounts advertised, the consistent, reasonable pricing for a campground with direct river access, full hookups, and modern facilities can be considered a steady "offer" in itself. For specific booking terms, availability, and any potential updates on pricing or policies, it is always best to refer to the official Aitkin County Land Department website for Berglund Park Campground or contact them directly. They typically do not run seasonal sales or coupon codes.

For us Minnesotans, Berglund Park Campground stands out as an exceptionally suitable choice for a local outdoor escape, perfectly blending convenience with the natural beauty we cherish. Its prime location and thoughtful amenities cater directly to what many of us look for in a local camping adventure.
Firstly, its direct access to the Mississippi River is a huge draw. We know and love our rivers, and the ability to fish, launch a kayak, or simply relax by the water's edge without leaving the campground is a significant convenience. This makes it ideal for spontaneous weekend trips or longer, relaxed stays where water activities are a priority. Being in Aitkin County already gives it that desired "up north" feel, but with the added bonus of being easily accessible.
Secondly, the campground strikes a perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. The presence of well-maintained flush toilets and showers is a welcome luxury, especially for families or those who prefer a less primitive experience after a day of exploring. Combined with electric hookups at every site, it means campers can enjoy the great outdoors without completely sacrificing comfort, which is a major plus for RV owners and even tent campers looking for a bit more ease.
Furthermore, its immediate connection to the Soo Line ATV/Snowmobile trail is a game-changer for active Minnesotans. We embrace our trails, and having a direct link from your campsite means more time riding and less time trailering. Whether it's carving through snow in the winter or kicking up dust on an ATV in the summer, Berglund Park serves as an excellent home base for these popular local pastimes.
Finally, the ability to walk into downtown Palisade adds a unique touch of local charm and convenience. It allows for a quick trip to grab forgotten essentials or to experience a small Minnesota town. All these factors combine to make Berglund Park Campground an ideal, well-rounded, and highly suitable option for Minnesotans seeking a quality camping experience close to home, offering the best of both nature and convenience.
Customer Reviews
Beautiful location on the Mississippi. Well stocked bathrooms, showers, nice firepits! Bad phone service. The grass needed to be mowed bad but otherwise a great campground!
no rooms, no service, campground area on Mississippi, under through winter
Building is nice, grounds are nice, bathrooms were disgusting...port-o-potties are cleaner and stink much less! Many campgrounds with nice mature trees for plenty of shade. Fire pits with grate over top for cooking for each site. Decent picnic tables at each site as well. Nice sized sites, VERY reasonably priced. Recently added a new playground for the kids too. Large open grassy area perfect for all kinds of activities!
Nice campground, not well cared for, every site filled but hadn’t been mowed for probably a week which added to the mosquito population. Definitely could use better managing regarding maintenance.
The campground is located on the bank of the Mississippi in the town of Palisade, MN. It is self register, $20.00 per night. There is recycling, and other amenities normally seen only in bigger campgrounds.Great views of the sky. We liked it!!
