Customer Reviews
I love being close to water and nature so Black River Campsite fit me well. Plus the owner, Scott, was very helpful. He showed me around and made sure I'd enjoy my time there as I did. Nicely maintained. My favorite spot was the pond. In the morning, while enjoying my coffee in spectacular weather I realized how close I was to history! The Battle of the Big Black River Bridge on May 17, 1863 took place a mere 2 miles from here. Hard to imagine, as peaceful as it is here today. A big thanks to Scott.
Exceptionally friendly and helpful host. Waze maps took us right to the place. In wet weather, there are a few muddy spots on the gravel road in, but the place is nice once you're there. If you're looking for a fully paved commercial campground, this is not for you, but it will not disappoint if you're looking for a quiet, peaceful, and friendly place. The shower and bathroom were clean.
Stayed at Scott’s camground as drive up guests on a road trip coming from Georgia the same day. Scott welcomed us very warmly and we had a great time setting our tent up at this rural and quiet spot. The surrounding nature and the facilities are great! Definitely recommend this spot.
Perfect spot just 13 minutes from Vicksburg, conveniently close to the highway. Spacious area for tent setup, with optional hookups. Clean showers and toilets that smell fresh. Flat campsites with picnic tables and plenty of space between sites. Beautifully maintained—Scott was even pressure-washing the walkway in front of the bathrooms! He kindly paused to greet us, check if we had any questions, and let us know we could visit the office and use the phone to call him if we needed assistance at any time. Video attached. Thanks, Scott!
Stayed the night on the way to West Virginia (I know, still a long way to go!) We were the only ones there, so it was very quiet. The spaces are large and you are surrounded by nature, which was very peaceful. Scott was exceeding helpful, even lending us a hose that we forgot! If you want a quiet, rural campsite surrounded by beautiful nature, this is the place for you. We would stay here again. Thank you, Scott!
