Customer Reviews
Definitely a campground that could use some work. Social media is practically non-active so you don’t know what’s going on from week to week. I would like to see holiday ceremonies (flag raising, parades..), contests like yard Yahtzee and corn holes announced. A schedule would be helpful and probably bring in more people. The only thing that is posted are bands. People don’t clean up after their dogs or themselves at the fishing pond. People don’t keep dogs on a leash. We didn’t find most people friendly. They block the streets like it’s their right and don’t apologize when you have to wait for them to finish a conversation or pull around them in the grass if that’s even possible. Store is practically empty, definitely should be stocked with essentials. They didn’t even have butter the first weekend we were here, not sure about this weekend. Wood was not available Sunday night Memorial Day weekend. That definitely should always be stocked. Owner is nice and friendly, his friend that helps him run the place is awesome as well. I just think Ray definitely needs help managing the place. I’m giving a 4 overall but honestly some areas could rate lower.
The owner was very hospitable. I was in town for a rodeo and visited in the evening to use the showers late at night. I couldn't see much of the campground, but it looked nice from what I could see and they have a lovely pond. I was very impressed by the restroom/showers. Very well maintained and clean!
Stayed here for my daughters wedding at Birchwood Meadow. Everyone that we talked to at the campground were very friendly. The workers all wanted to make sure that we were happy. Our group had mostly just water and electric sites. If you need to stay in this area I would recommend staying here.
Bluegrass Campground is the most serene and beautiful campground I've had the pleasure to stay at, and I travel full time. Originally only set to be here a month, I stayed 4 months after I discovered the community of kind people, especially the owners, Ray and Larry. They're always remarkably helpful and just so nice to talk to, too, and you can really see how much they care about this place. I highly recommend staying for even a short time, this campground has it all.
We did not camp here. We just went for the day to visit someone who was camping here. The water is clear that you swim in and the people are very friendly. It seems like a very nice place to camp but they don't really have a lot in the store. The game room was not open even though the owner/workers said it should be open. Seemed like there was no communication on that between them. The park for the kids to play at was in good condition.
