Boone RV Park About

Welcome, fellow Texans! If you're an RVer, whether you're a seasoned full-timer or planning your very first road trip across our great state, finding the right place to park your home-on-wheels is always a top priority. Today, we're taking a closer look at a local gem that many of you might consider for your next stop: Boone RV Park, conveniently located in Lampasas.

Boone RV Park aims to provide a straightforward and comfortable experience for RV travelers. It's the kind of spot that prioritizes utility and accessibility, making it a practical choice for those passing through or looking for a quiet base to explore the surrounding Central Texas area. While some parks might focus on elaborate resort-style amenities, Boone RV Park offers the essentials needed for a hassle-free stay, allowing you to focus on your journey or the local attractions. This park is a testament to the simplicity and convenience that many RVers appreciate, ensuring a level spot with working utilities to make your visit smooth and easy.

Location and Accessibility

Boone RV Park is strategically situated at 1907 US-281, Lampasas, TX 76550, USA. For those of us familiar with Texas highways, US-281 is a major north-south artery that cuts right through the heart of the state. This makes Boone RV Park incredibly accessible for travelers heading in various directions, whether you're coming from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, San Antonio, or even venturing west towards the Hill Country.

Lampasas itself is a charming Central Texas town, offering a blend of small-town hospitality and convenient access to essential services. Its location means you're never too far from fuel stops, grocery stores, and local eateries, which is a huge plus when you're on the road. The ease of getting in and out of the park directly from a major highway minimizes navigation stress, especially for those piloting larger rigs. This accessibility is a key factor that many RVers consider when planning their routes, as it saves time and avoids the complexities of navigating through dense urban areas. For many Texans, the appeal of a quick, convenient stop off a main road is undeniable, making Boone RV Park a practical choice for a wide range of travel plans.

Services Offered

  • Full Hookups: The park provides essential full hookups, ensuring you have access to water, electricity, and sewer connections for a comfortable stay. This is a fundamental offering for any RV park and is crucial for both short and extended visits, allowing you to run your appliances, use your facilities, and maintain a sense of home on the road.

  • Level Sites: While the park is primarily gravel, the sites are noted to be level. A level site is incredibly important for RVers, as it ensures proper functioning of appliances, comfortable sleeping, and overall stability of your rig. This attention to detail, even on gravel, contributes significantly to a positive user experience.

  • Utilities: All utilities are reported to be in working order, which is a vital aspect of any RV park. Reliable access to power and water is non-negotiable for most RV travelers, and Boone RV Park aims to deliver on this front, providing the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable and convenient stop.

  • Pump and Dump Station: For those who may not require a full hookup site or are just passing through, the park offers a pump and dump service. While the cost for this service has seen a recent adjustment, it remains a valuable amenity for maintaining your RV's waste tanks during your travels.

Features / Highlights

  • Transit Stop Convenience: Boone RV Park is particularly well-suited as a one-night in-transit stopover. Its location directly on US-281 makes it an ideal spot to pull off the highway, rest, and then continue your journey the next day without significant detours.

  • Practical and Functional: The park focuses on providing the core necessities for RVers. It’s designed for those who value function and utility over extensive recreational facilities, offering a straightforward place to park, hook up, and relax.

  • Pet-Friendly Aspects (with a note): The presence of grassy areas between sites suggests that the park is accommodating to pets. However, as noted in customer feedback, it is imperative for pet owners to be diligent about cleaning up after their animals to maintain a pleasant environment for all guests. This highlights the park's potential for pet owners, with a reminder of shared responsibility.

  • Good for Short-Term and Potential Longer Stays: While great for quick overnight stops, the availability of full hookups also makes Boone RV Park a viable option for those looking for a slightly longer stay, perhaps to explore Lampasas and the nearby Central Texas attractions at a more relaxed pace.

Office closed on Saturdays but set up camp on site 66 as planned. All gravel, though level site and utilities work. Good enough for a one night in transit stop over, place can sure do with a tidy up and some TLC but worst off all, there was no shortage of dog shit on the grass between us and our neighbor which is unacceptable !

Even though the cost of pumping and dumping went from $15.00 to $25.00, it's still a nice park. I'm just shocked the cost went up so much. We're in trouble in this country. Not their fault, though.

First time staying here and will NOT go back. The place is not worth the $40 a night charge. The best western 1/ 2 mile away is only $45 a night. The staff needs work on customer service. There internt site says they have wifi, but they don't, you can not make reservations on line . We where not given the door code to use the showers or rec hall. The staff never answerd the phone. The Highway noise (right next to the rv park) is sooo loud, it's hard to sleep. There are allot more RV parks within 10-15 miles that are better.

This park is located on a very busy and loud highway. It can be heard 24/7. No pick nick table at our site. Close together sites. Convenient to the city? Yes. Guess it depends on what you are looking for. Would not go back. Price per night was excessive given the location. If you need a bath house, etc. maybe its worth it. Not for us.

A Good Sam park with eas access next to hwy 281. Has some pull through spaces. Road noise can be an issue. We stayed overnight with a full hookup. Rate was $40 and a Good Sam discounted rate was $36.
