For many in Texas, especially those involved in the energy sector or simply enjoying the RV lifestyle, finding suitable accommodations is key. Pearsall, Texas, located in Frio County, has historically been a hub for such needs, particularly with its proximity to oilfield operations. Among the various lodging options, RV parks often provide a flexible and cost-effective solution. Buckhorn Outpost RV Park, located in Pearsall, has been a name associated with this type of accommodation. This article aims to provide a factual overview of Buckhorn Outpost RV Park, drawing on available public information to help local Texans understand its operational status and what it has historically offered.
It's important to preface this by stating that the operational status of smaller, privately-owned RV parks can sometimes change without widespread public announcements. Our goal here is to present the information as accurately as possible based on the provided details, ensuring transparency for potential visitors or those seeking long-term stays in the area.
Buckhorn Outpost RV Park's listed address is 3141 Co Rd 2000, Pearsall, TX 78061, USA. This places it within the Frio County area, a region known for its agricultural and oil and gas industry activities. Pearsall itself is situated strategically along major transportation routes, including Interstate 35, which connects it to San Antonio to the north and Laredo to the south. This accessibility makes Pearsall a convenient stopover point for travelers traversing Texas, or a base for those working in the surrounding oil and gas fields.
County Road 2000 suggests a location that might be slightly outside the immediate urban core of Pearsall, offering a potentially quieter setting while still maintaining relatively easy access to the town's amenities. These amenities typically include local grocery stores, gas stations, basic dining options, and essential services that RV travelers or long-term residents would require. The distance from the main highway or town center can sometimes influence the park's atmosphere, often leaning towards a more relaxed and rural feel.
For individuals working in the oil and gas industry, a location like this on a county road could be advantageous, offering direct routes to various drilling sites or operational hubs without navigating heavy town traffic. The general accessibility of Pearsall, coupled with its position within a key economic region of Texas, makes any RV park in this area potentially appealing to a specific demographic.
Based on the nature of an RV park, and considering the provided customer reviews that mention "oilfield workers to park their travel trailers," one can infer the typical services that Buckhorn Outpost RV Park would have offered when operational. These generally include:
It is crucial to note that the provided customer reviews indicate that the RV park's operations for oilfield workers "is over" and that "This place no longer exists." Therefore, these services, while historically relevant to the site, may not be currently available.
Similar to services, the features and highlights of Buckhorn Outpost RV Park, based on the provided information, point to its previous function.
Again, these features describe the park's past functionality. Current information suggests these features are no longer relevant due to the park's apparent closure.
Based on the provided customer reviews, which strongly suggest that Buckhorn Outpost RV Park "no longer exists" and that its previous use for "oilfield workers to park their travel trailers, but that's over," it is highly unlikely that any promotions or special offers are currently available. An active RV park would typically advertise such incentives to attract new residents or transient guests. Given the indications of closure or cessation of operations as an RV park, there would be no current offers to inquire about.
The provided contact information for Buckhorn Outpost RV Park is:
Address: 3141 Co Rd 2000, Pearsall, TX 78061, USA
Phone: (210) 315-6546
Mobile Phone: +1 210-315-6546
However, in light of the customer reviews stating "This place no longer exists. Don't waste your time driving out here," and that the previous arrangement for "oilfield workers to park their travel trailers, but that's over," it is highly probable that contacting these numbers will not yield information about active RV park services. Individuals are advised to exercise caution and verify current operational status before attempting to visit or rely on this location for RV accommodation.
Historically, Buckhorn Outpost RV Park, with its address at 3141 Co Rd 2000, Pearsall, TX 78061, USA, likely served a specific and important niche within the Frio County region of Texas. For local residents, particularly those involved in the robust oil and gas industry, or individuals seeking temporary housing solutions, an RV park like this would have offered a practical and often more affordable alternative to traditional rentals or hotels. Its location, while seemingly rural, would have provided convenient access to oilfield sites, minimizing commute times for workers. The ability to bring one's own travel trailer and secure a dedicated spot with utility hookups would have appealed to those seeking flexibility and a semblance of home while working away from a permanent residence.
The concept of such a park caters to the transient nature of certain industries in Texas, as well as the growing popularity of the RV lifestyle for both short-term travel and long-term living. A well-managed RV park offers a sense of community, shared facilities, and a secure environment, which are all highly valued by those living in their RVs.
However, it is critically important for local Texans and anyone considering this location to be aware of the provided customer feedback. Direct reviews explicitly state, "This place no longer exists. Don't waste your time driving out here," and also clarify that its previous function for "oilfield workers to park their travel trailers, but that's over." This indicates that Buckhorn Outpost RV Park is no longer operating as a functional RV park. Therefore, while its historical suitability for locals seeking specific accommodation types was evident, its current status means it is no longer a viable option for RV parking or related services in Pearsall, Texas. Those looking for RV accommodations in the Pearsall area should seek out alternative, actively operating RV parks.

This place is next to my property, it use to belong to my youngest brother. It's not any kind of hotel. It's just property that my neighbor set up for a few oilfield workers to park their travel trailers, but that's over. But last March there was a young man staying there with my neighbor. I don't know who is is but, one night, I walked out on my porch and caught this guy standing in my garage looking under the hood of my pick up. I yelled, hey and he left here running. I called the Sheriff's Department and they came out, but couldn't figure out how or where this guy got away to. I was telling my nephew about this guy, and my nephew told me that my neighbor has someone staying with him. Well that explains how and where he escaped to that first night. After that I started missing things off of my porch, just a few things at a time, like a hand saw, heavy metal yard rake, empty toolbox that I had just cleaned out, a handmade knife, just a lot of things, similar to the Johnny Cash song, "One Piece At a Time". When I figured out his escape route was just a hop and skip across the pasture land that was between our properties, reported my information to the Sheriff's Department, but they didn't do anything to get my things back or even go talk to this guy. The property owner, my neighbor, had left me a voicemail during this time, asking if I was interested in selling my property, and to call him back. I tried to get in touch with my neighbor, but was never successful. I don't believe my neighbor was aware of the activities that his guests was into, until after he had left me the voicemail This guy is still at large, but believed to relocated, because I haven't been missing any more things from my porch. Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU.
