Camelot trailer home park About

For many South Carolinians seeking an affordable and stable living solution, particularly in the Chesterfield County area, understanding various housing options is key. Camelot Trailer Home Park in Pageland, SC, represents one such option, primarily catering to long-term residents in mobile or manufactured homes. This park functions more as a residential community than a transient RV park, offering a distinct living arrangement for those looking to establish roots without the typical complexities of traditional homeownership or apartment leasing.

This article aims to provide a clear and factual overview of Camelot Trailer Home Park, drawing information from publicly available data and resident experiences. We'll explore its location, what is typically included for residents, and what defines the living experience at this property. Our goal is to help local South Carolina users gain a comprehensive understanding of this specific housing opportunity in Pageland.

Location and Accessibility

Camelot Trailer Home Park is located at 167 Airport Rd, Pageland, SC 29728, USA. Pageland is a town situated in Chesterfield County, in the northeastern part of South Carolina. This location places the park within a rural setting, yet still provides access to the services and amenities available in Pageland. For residents, this means being part of a smaller community, offering a potentially quieter lifestyle away from larger urban centers.

Accessibility to Camelot Trailer Home Park from various parts of South Carolina would typically involve travel via state highways. While Airport Road itself might be a local street, its connection to the broader road network ensures that the park is reachable for individuals relocating to or living in the area. Being in Pageland, residents have local access to essentials such as grocery stores, gas stations, and other small businesses. For more extensive shopping, dining, or medical facilities, residents might typically travel to larger nearby towns or cities within Chesterfield County or even across the state line into North Carolina, depending on their specific needs. The park's location emphasizes community living within a more rural South Carolina context.

Services Offered

Camelot Trailer Home Park distinguishes itself by offering an "all-inclusive" rent structure, which can be a significant draw for residents managing their monthly budgets. Based on available information, the services typically included in the rent are designed to simplify utilities for tenants.

  • All-Inclusive Rent: The primary service offered is a single, inclusive monthly rent payment. This covers several essential utilities, simplifying financial management for residents.
  • Utilities Included:
    • Trash Service: Waste removal is part of the monthly rent, alleviating the need for residents to arrange separate trash collection.
    • Electrical Service: Electricity costs are integrated into the rent, providing predictability for monthly expenditures, irrespective of usage fluctuations.
    • Water Service: Water usage is also included, further consolidating utility bills into one predictable payment.
  • Maintenance Appointments: While not a direct service in the same vein as utilities, the park does facilitate maintenance appointments for the units. Residents can call the office to schedule necessary repairs or upkeep.

It is important for prospective residents to understand that while these services are included, the execution and responsiveness of maintenance, as well as the overall condition of units and common areas, have received mixed feedback from current and past tenants. While the "all-inclusive" aspect is highly valued for its financial predictability, the actual living experience, particularly concerning the upkeep of units and infrastructure, may require patience and direct communication with management.

Features / Highlights

Camelot Trailer Home Park presents several features and highlights that define the living experience for its residents, focusing on its community aspect and the economic benefits it provides.

  • Community Atmosphere: A significant highlight noted by residents is the strong sense of community. Many residents express feeling like an "extended family" with their neighbors, fostering a close-knit and supportive environment. This neighborly spirit can be a major advantage for those seeking a sense of belonging and mutual support in their living situation.
  • Economical Housing Option: Perhaps the most compelling feature for many is its status as one of the "most economical housing option within the locality." The all-inclusive rent structure, covering trash, electrical, and water, makes budgeting simpler and can lead to significant savings compared to traditional rental arrangements where utilities are separate. This affordability is a critical factor for individuals and families looking for budget-friendly long-term housing in South Carolina.
  • Long-Term Residency: The park primarily caters to long-term residents, providing a stable living environment rather than a transient one. This allows individuals to establish roots and contributes to the strong community feel.

However, it is also important to acknowledge reported areas that could be considered less ideal features by some prospective residents:

  • Driveway Condition: Multiple reviews highlight that the driveway is "extremely bumpy and uneven," riddled with "deteriorated potholes," posing potential hazards to vehicles. This indicates a significant area for potential improvement in infrastructure.
  • Unit Conditions: While some residents find the units "ok," feedback suggests that conditions "could be better," with mentions of "roach infestation" in some units. This implies that while basic shelter is provided, the overall quality and pest control might not meet everyone's expectations.
  • Maintenance Responsiveness: While maintenance appointments can be scheduled, the need to frequently call the office suggests that proactive upkeep might be limited, and residents might need to be persistent.
  • Pet-Related Concerns: One review mentions issues with aggressive dogs from another tenant, posing a threat to other animals. While not a direct park feature, this highlights a potential community management aspect that could affect pet owners.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a long-term residential trailer home park primarily focused on providing affordable housing, Camelot Trailer Home Park does not typically advertise short-term promotions or special offers in the same way a commercial RV campground might. Its core offering is its consistent, all-inclusive, and economical monthly rent.

For individuals interested in residing at Camelot Trailer Home Park, the "promotion" is the value proposition of its inclusive rent and comparatively low cost of living within the Pageland area. Prospective tenants should:

  • Contact Directly: The best approach is to call the park management directly to inquire about current availability, specific rental rates, and the terms of the all-inclusive agreement.
  • Confirm Inclusions: Always confirm what exactly is covered by the "all-inclusive" rent to ensure there are no surprises regarding utilities or other fees.

The park's appeal rests on its fundamental affordability and the simplification of monthly expenses rather than temporary deals or discounts.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For South Carolinians, particularly those in or considering a move to the Chesterfield County area, Camelot Trailer Home Park in Pageland offers a distinct and potentially highly suitable housing option, especially for those prioritizing affordability and a sense of community. Its appeal primarily lies in its "most economical" housing status within the locality, with an all-inclusive rent structure that simplifies budgeting by bundling trash, electricity, and water into one predictable monthly payment. This financial predictability is a significant advantage for individuals and families managing their expenses closely.

For those who value neighborly connections and a supportive living environment, this aspect of Camelot Trailer Home Park can be a major draw. It offers a stable, long-term residential setting, allowing individuals to settle in and become part of a local fabric.

However, local users considering Camelot should also be prepared for a certain level of practicality. While the rent is inclusive and the community is strong, some aspects of the property's physical condition, particularly the driveway and the general upkeep of some units, have been noted in resident feedback. Prospective residents should weigh the significant financial advantages and community benefits against these reported maintenance and condition aspects. For South Carolinians seeking a budget-friendly, long-term residence where community ties are strong, and who are willing to manage expectations regarding amenities and infrastructure, Camelot Trailer Home Park provides a viable and unique living solution in Pageland. It’s an option for those who understand that sometimes, the greatest value comes from a tight-knit community and simplified finances, rather than luxury amenities.

Been here for over two years now. The people who reside in Camelot, I'm glad to call my neighbors. We are like an extended family. The condition of the units are ok but could be better. As long as you don't mind calling the office to schedule a maintenance appointment that is. The rent is all inclusive, trash, electrical, & water are included. I would have rated 5 stars if the conditions were just a little bit better. Wish they would have the driveway, it is EXTREMELY bumppy and uneven.

The proprietors generate a monthly revenue of $50,000+ from these properties, yet they have yet to furnish the tenants with a satisfactory driveway to access their modest accommodations. Regrettably, the purported driveway is replete with deteriorated potholes that pose a potential hazard to vehicles. The one-bedroom triplex units are afflicted with a roach infestation, imposing an unsatisfactory living condition for the tenants. Additionally, occupants must contend with another tenant whose aggressive dogs pose a threat to feline inhabitants in the vicinity. It is highly probable that the majority of tenants have chosen to reside here primarily due to its status as the most economical housing option within the locality. I find it disheartening, and in my view, it would be beneficial for the owners to experience a year of residency on this property themselves. Such firsthand exposure may prompt them to implement necessary improvements.
