The campground is set amidst tall hemlock, oak, and pine trees, providing a deep woods ambiance that many campers cherish.
While the reviews note that the campground isn't "super close to a bigger town," it is conveniently located within about 5-6 minutes of a "small strip with a Food Lion and things," ensuring that basic necessities are easily accessible. Firstly, the campground’s location directly on Lake Anna is a massive draw. For Virginians who own boats or simply love being by the water, the easy access provided by six boat ramps and a 50-slip marina is unparalleled. The reputation for "great fishing from shore" for species like largemouth bass is a significant advantage for local anglers seeking a productive and enjoyable fishing spot without extensive travel. Customer Reviews
My husband and I started coming here last year. This is now our favorite place to camp and fish. The fishing from shore is great! Caught quite a few largemouth and decent size as well. The ladies in the office are always so pleasant and ready to help in any way possible. We will see you in 4 days! We are super excited!
We love it here. We bring our camper and spend most of our summer days here. Lake is beautiful. Has a small mini golf course and playground. The staff is great. The laundry room is dated and not wheelchair accessible. The bath house needs some love and although there is a wheelchair accessible stall there isn't an accessible shower stall. Definitely not super close to a bigger town but a few small towns with the basics within 15 mins. A small strip with a Food Lion and things 5-,6 mins away. The good size towns/cities 45 mins away.
Great place Monday thru Thursday. Weekend comes and so do the loud drunks. It’s not Christopher run so much it’s people has no camping etiquette anymore. I’m here now and a neighbor has 14 trucks here parting like crazy. Loud Spanish music and I complained and was told complain to the guard shack latter on if it’s still a problem. 🙄
We had a great time of camping here with friends. We will definitely come back and camp again. We camped here again in May of 2025. This is our third time camping here with friends. I did drop my review two stars because quiet time is not enforced very well. We had multiple loud trucks driving past our tent literally all night long. Totally unacceptable. My truck isn’t quiet by any means but I’m not driving it around the campground at 1 in the morning either. Visiting hours needs to be enforced more. Also bath house could use a facelift.
Best camping spot on Lake Anna. Very convenient to get on the water with multiple launch spots. The folks in the store are always very helpful and knowledgeable. We've tent camped for years and stayed in the cabins a couple times and haven't had any issue. We pay extra to keep our boat here during the summer and it’s definitely worth it!
