While it’s a smaller site without a dedicated on-site office, the campground is well-maintained, featuring clean vault toilets and efficient recycling options, showing a commitment to environmental stewardship. Copper Range Campground is located at 13804 Park Rd, Brule, WI 54820, USA. This address places it squarely within the Brule River State Forest, a vast and renowned natural area in northwestern Wisconsin.
The campground's location within a state forest is a significant advantage, offering easy access to the famed Bois Brule River, often simply called the "Brule River." This river is a popular destination for fishing (especially trout), canoeing, and kayaking. A short walk from most campsites at Copper Range brings you directly to the river's edge and a canoe landing, making it an ideal base for paddlers. Access to the campground is typically via well-maintained forest roads, suitable for vehicles. While it maintains a secluded, forested feel, its proximity to the community of Brule means that basic necessities and local services are within reasonable driving distance. The overall accessibility makes it a convenient choice for Wisconsin residents seeking a rustic experience without venturing too far into deep wilderness, while still providing that essential feeling of being "up north." The pine forest setting also contributes to a pleasant atmosphere, especially after a refreshing rain.

As a state forest campground managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Copper Range Campground does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the way a private business might. Its pricing is generally set at a standard, affordable rate for state park/forest camping.
However, a key "offer" for campers is the combination of its natural setting and the basic amenities provided at a reasonable fee. The availability of reservable sites, especially those offering more privacy, can be considered a valuable feature, though they do go early, indicating their popularity.
For the most accurate and current information on camping fees, reservation policies, and availability, visitors should consult the Wisconsin DNR's official website for the Brule River State Forest or use the Wisconsin State Parks reservation system. It is highly recommended to make reservations, especially for popular sites and during peak seasons, to avoid issues like arriving to find your reserved spot occupied, as mentioned in a customer review. Check the DNR website for any specific guidelines regarding fire bans or other seasonal updates.

Customer Reviews
It's not a bad little campsite. It was our first time using this campground. The campsite comes with a bench, picnic table, and a fireplace with a grill. There is no electric hook up or showers. (Which we knew in advanced). So it is a little bit of a rougher camping, however, we didn't mind. There is a dumpster along with recycling options. Definitely another plus! The only downfall is when we arrived the first night someone was on our camping site. It was 10:30 pm and we were tired after driving 5 hours after work. I spoke with a lady, and they don't have a park office, and no one to call for the site. Which is understandable for a smaller campsite. However, the only thing she could offer was another site, and she wanted us to pay a fee to change site grounds. I will say that did upset me due to the fact that it was not our fault someone else had taken our reserved spot. 🙃 I did ask the lady kindly if it was necessary due to this being out of our control. She did get a little bit of an attitude with me in regards to that and said it was policy and put me on hold for 30 minutes while she contacted someone else. (It was late, so maybe that was why) But once she was back, she did end up informing me they would waive the fee. However, during that time, we were able to luckily talk to the person who was at our site, and they were kind enough to be able to resolve the issue, we just had to wait until the next morning. The customer service could have been a little more helpful. Outside of that, it wasn't bad.
Smaller campground in a pine forest, love the smell after it rains. A short walk brings you to the rivers edge and a canoe landing. Most of the sites are close to each other and have little buffering. There are a few drive in sites that offer a little more privacy. There are also a few walk in sites. Granted I only walked about 50 yards to get to the site, it was a little more quite. Love the setting of the campground but would only go back if I could reserve certain sites. The best reservable sites do go early, clearly. The garbage area was kept well organized...recycling etc. The bathroom was clean and mostly bug free. I definitely liked the effort put forth in keeping the grounds in good shape.
Small campground in an old pine forest on the right side of Blure river. Beautiful place, only about 17 campsites. The only problem - almost no bushes, so you are not well separated from other. But if your neighbors are not wild, it is OK :) Several walk-in sites are on the riverbank, and water from pump really good. There is a nice trail for 3 hrs hike across the bridge, and many places nearby short drive in a car. Very good place to stay and explore places around
Fantastic! Beautiful wooded, quiet setting. Nice large picnic tables. Pick your site carefully because the trail to the toilet is rather round-about from many sites.
Sites are flat, private, easy to get in and out of. The bathrooms are less than desirable. There is no electricity at campground at all.
