Located in the heart of the Western Catskills, the campsite is specifically designed as a peaceful, wooded, and family-oriented getaway for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. It is an RV park and campground that boasts an unparalleled natural feature: nearly a mile of pristine creekfront along the world-famous Willowemoc Creek, an epicenter for world-class fly fishing.
Set against a backdrop of 500 acres of the Catskill Forest Preserve, Covered Bridge Campsite positions itself as a premium, yet rustic, base camp for exploring the region’s natural beauty. Covered Bridge Campsite is conveniently situated at 68 Conklin Hill Rd, Livingston Manor, NY 12758, USA. This address is key for New Yorkers, as it places the campground in Sullivan County, often referred to as the ‘Western Catskills,’ and is roughly a two to two-and-a-half-hour drive from New York City. This accessibility makes it an ideal spot for a weekend escape or a longer seasonal stay without the lengthy travel time typically associated with deep wilderness areas.
The campsite is nestled directly on the banks of the Willowemoc Creek, one of the most celebrated trout streams in the Northeast, making the fishing experience directly accessible from many campsites. The surrounding area is part of the Willowemoc Wild Forest, offering hundreds of miles of public land for hiking and exploration. Livingston Manor itself is just minutes away, providing easy access to necessary supplies, local amenities, and quaint village attractions. The geographic location perfectly balances the tranquility of a creek-side sanctuary with the practicality of being near a vibrant small town.

It is strongly advised that New York locals planning a trip make reservations well in advance, especially for the desirable creekfront and unique glamping units, as the Catskills are a high-demand area during the peak season.
Covered Bridge Campsite is strategically located and provisioned to serve the unique needs of the New York City metro area camper. The approximately two-hour drive makes it an accessible and feasible weekend destination, offering a complete change of pace from the city's hustle. It is an ideal spot for the following local New York visitors:
The Serious Angler: With direct frontage on the Willowemoc Creek, this location is a dream for NYC-based fly fishermen and women who want convenient access to world-renowned trout waters.
The Modern/Glamping Enthusiast: The availability of luxury glamping tents and a modern A-frame cabin provides a comfortable middle ground for those who want a nature experience without sacrificing modern conveniences, a highly sought-after trend among city dwellers.
The Family Seeking a Nature Fix: Surrounded by the vast Catskill Forest Preserve, the campsite provides an excellent, structured environment for families to introduce children to hiking, fishing, and the peace of the woods, all while having essential amenities like hot showers and a nearby town for groceries.
While the natural setting is undeniably perfect, prospective New York campers should be aware of a recurring theme mentioned in recent guest feedback, which indicates a strict interpretation of "peaceful" by the current management. Reviews have strongly noted that the owners enforce a near-absolute 'silence' policy, suggesting a low tolerance for even mild noise like conversation, laughter, or soft background music. This is a critical factor for groups or families hoping for a more lively, social camping experience. For those who genuinely seek near-total solitude and silence—perhaps to focus solely on fishing or quiet contemplation—the management's strictness may align with expectations. However, those looking to relax and socialize freely should consider these reports of "constant surveillance," "rudeness," and an "unwelcoming" atmosphere when making their final decision to ensure their peace of mind is not compromised during their Catskills escape.

I would not recommend Covered Bridge Camping to anyone looking for a relaxing or enjoyable camping experience. This was by far the worst campsite I’ve ever stayed at, entirely due to the couple who owns and operates it. From the start, they were cold, unwelcoming, and extremely rude. They seem to have no tolerance for any kind of sound — and I mean any. We weren’t blasting music or partying. We were simply talking, laughing, and playing soft background music, and even that was met with immediate complaints and aggressive behavior from the owners. Camping is supposed to be fun — a chance to unwind, socialize, and enjoy nature. But here, it felt like we were walking on eggshells the entire time. The owners constantly patrolled the area, ready to scold guests for the slightest noise. It was tense, uncomfortable, and honestly, not worth the money. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway where you're treated with respect and allowed to simply enjoy yourself, look elsewhere. This place clearly doesn’t want happy campers — just silence.
Aug 11, 2025 · renz BUSUGI rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about the Covered Bridge Campsite. My experience here was easily the worst I’ve had at any campground – and entirely due to the behavior of the owner. From the moment we arrived, the owner was confrontational and unwelcoming. Instead of offering any form of hospitality, we were met with attitude, micromanagement, and constant surveillance. It felt less like a vacation and more like being monitored at every turn. Any minor action, from parking to setting up, was met with passive-aggressive comments or outright hostility. Worse yet, the owner’s behavior crossed the line into harassment. There was no sense of respect or professionalism – just an ongoing power trip that made our stay deeply uncomfortable. We weren’t the only ones either; several other campers mentioned similar experiences during our stay. The location itself might have potential, but none of that matters when the environment is so toxic. A campsite should be a place to relax and enjoy nature, not a place where you're made to feel unwelcome and on edge. I strongly urge others to look elsewhere. Until there's a serious change in management or attitude, Covered Bridge Campsite is not worth your time, money, or peace of mind.
Aug 11, 2025 · Maria SungaFirst off let me say that the owners of this campground are some of the nicest people I’ve met. So kind and friendly and extremely accommodating. The sites are spacious and stunning and the bathrooms are newly renovated. My fiancé and I had the best time and we are already planning a trip back! Highly highly recommend!
Jul 26, 2025 · Cailyn DaviesWorst campsite we’ve ever been to. Admins were rude and nasty especially the tall lady wearing gothic clothes and high heels in the middle of the wild. Any type of music is not allowed at all. You’re also not allowed to laugh or make any type of sound. You’re supposed to be just whispering at each other as the admin does not like to hear anything at all. I definitely do not recommend this camp as you will be harassed daily by the admins.
