Whether you're coming to cheer on your favorite sports team, experience thrilling amusement park rides, or explore the vibrant culture of two major Texas cities, the Dallas / Arlington KOA Holiday offers a convenient and accommodating base for your adventures. As a well-known name in camping, KOA aims to provide a reliable experience, and this location is uniquely positioned to put you in the center of all the action.
The Dallas / Arlington KOA Holiday strives to be more than just a place to park your RV or pitch a tent; it aims to be a hub for relaxation and family fun. While individual experiences may vary, the park is designed to cater to a range of needs, from solo travelers to large families, with the promise of activities and helpful staff. This article will provide you with a comprehensive overview of what you can expect from the Dallas / Arlington KOA Holiday, including its strategic location, the services it offers, its features, and why it might be the ideal spot for your next Texas excursion.
The Dallas / Arlington KOA Holiday is a campground situated in Arlington, Texas, operating under the well-recognized KOA (Kampgrounds of America) brand, which typically signifies a certain standard of amenities and services. Positioned midway between Dallas and Fort Worth, it aims to serve as a central "base camp" for exploring the vast array of attractions and activities that the DFW Metroplex has to offer. The park provides various accommodation types, including RV sites, tent sites, and cabins, catering to different camping preferences.
Reviews for the campground present a mixed picture. Some guests praise the helpfulness and professionalism of specific front desk staff (Kara and Aisha) and maintenance team members (Sean and Josh), highlighting their willingness to assist with issues, including RV problems for first-time travelers. The park is also noted for offering "a bunch of kids activities on the weekends." However, other reviews point out challenges with the park's physical condition, mentioning a "narrow entrance," "potholes," and facilities like the jump pad, playground, and pool appearing unkempt or out of service (e.g., "pool didn't have water in it"). The cleanliness of the laundry room was also a concern for some. It's classified as a "Holiday" KOA, which according to KOA's own descriptions, should offer a balance of amenities and activities, aiming to be a relaxing and playful spot.
The Dallas / Arlington KOA Holiday is located at 2715 S Cooper St, Arlington, TX 76015, USA. Its address places it right "off of a Main Street," Cooper Street, a major thoroughfare in Arlington. This central location is a significant advantage, putting visitors directly in the heart of the DFW Metroplex, midway between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth.
The park boasts excellent proximity to some of Texas's most iconic attractions. Within a short drive, campers can reach:
- AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys)
- Globe Life Field (home of the Texas Rangers)
- Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor amusement parks
- The vibrant Arlington Entertainment District with numerous dining and shopping options.
Accessibility from major highways is generally straightforward. From I-20, campers can take Exit 449 (Cooper St) and head north. From I-30, directions advise taking Exit 27 (Cooper St) and proceeding south. However, some reviews mention a "narrow entrance" from Cooper Street and difficulties exiting, suggesting that maneuvering larger RVs, especially during busy times, might require extra care and attention. Despite these entry/exit observations, the overall strategic location remains a key draw for those looking to explore the dynamic DFW area without excessive travel.

Customer Reviews
This campground is right off of a Main Street and very difficult to get into from the road as they have a narrow entrance. This also makes it difficult to exit when you are leaving. Check-in was, ok. Not very friendly. The grounds were not kept up other than cut grass. There was a jump pad and playground but it looked like it had been there abandoned for years. The pool didn’t have water in it, so no swimming. The laundry room did not have a change machine and was very dirty, so if I had change, I wouldn’t have done my laundry there anyway. With what the campground had to offer and the sad shape it is in, I’m surprised that koa has this listed as a holiday, it is a journey at best. I would not recommend staying here to anyone.
Kara and Aisha at the front desk are super helpful and nice, Very professional and always wanting to help. Sean and Josh came to help me when I had an issue with my RV since it’s my first time traveling in one. This campground has a bunch of kids activities on the weekends. I would recommend this campground for anyone, solo and family traveling.
Our site was small, but our camper is small, so it worked fine. The camp was clean, the staff were super friendly. Nice size pool, but we stayed in December so no pool for us. Men’s room had a couple of stalls out of order, (it happens). Kamp K-9 was a little muddy, but rain is rain. It was surprising to find a campground in the middle of the city that didn’t feel like it was in the city. All-in-all, we had a really nice stay. S. Cooper street can be a little noisy, but we felt safe.
Great place to stay. They got lot of pull through sites. The camp hosts Bryan and his wife are super nice people. Will come back again!
The best part of my stay was the bird songs, especially in the mornings. I also enjoyed the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the other campers, the bridge from the tent area to the restrooms, and the water faucet at each tent site.
