For Alabamians seeking accommodation, whether short-term or long-term, understanding the nature of a property is essential to ensure it aligns with your needs and expectations. In Atmore, Alabama, **Deer Creek Cottages** is a property located at 2283 Smith Dairy Rd. While the initial request was for a "campground" description, the provided customer reviews strongly indicate that Deer Creek Cottages functions more as a residential park, likely consisting of mobile homes or cottages, rather than a traditional campground for recreational vehicles or tents. This article will provide an objective overview of Deer Creek Cottages, drawing directly from the provided reviews to give you a factual understanding of the environment described by those familiar with the property.
The feedback from residents and neighbors raises significant concerns about the living environment at Deer Creek Cottages. Descriptions indicate issues such as "drug activity in and out throughout the day," "random yelling, cursing, and fighting between tenants and also their visitors," "broken down cars left in yards," and an "ongoing trash problem." Neighbors also express frustration with "in and out traffic, drugs and speeders" on their "family, friendly road." These points are crucial for anyone considering a stay or residency at this location, as they paint a picture of a challenging community environment rather than a serene camping or cottage experience. The general sentiment is that the "owner obviously doesn’t care to correct the problem," suggesting a lack of proactive management in addressing these issues.
---Deer Creek Cottages is located at **2283 Smith Dairy Rd, Atmore, AL 36502, USA**. Atmore is a city in Escambia County, Alabama, situated in the southwestern part of the state. It is generally accessible via major highways, including Interstate 65, which connects it to larger cities like Mobile, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida. Smith Dairy Road itself appears to be a local thoroughfare within the Atmore area.
The specific address on Smith Dairy Road suggests a more residential or semi-rural setting rather than a commercial campground on a main tourist route. Neighbors' comments about "traveling on our family, friendly road" indicate it's a residential street, emphasizing the local community context of the property. While the physical location in Atmore provides access to the town's basic amenities and is within reach of regional attractions, the nature of the immediate surroundings, as described by residents, is critical to understand before considering this as an accommodation option.
---Based on the provided information, which primarily consists of critical reviews from residents and neighbors, Deer Creek Cottages appears to offer basic residential lot rentals, likely for mobile homes or similar cottage-style units. The reviews do not detail typical campground services such as RV hookups (water, electric, sewer), specific recreational facilities, communal bathhouses, or laundry facilities. Instead, the focus is on the general living conditions within the property. Therefore, any "services" would be limited to the provision of a place to reside, with utilities potentially available at each unit, though their condition or reliability is not addressed in the feedback. The pervasive issues mentioned, such as "random yelling, cursing, and fighting," "broken down cars left in yards," and a "trash problem," suggest a lack of management in maintaining a desirable living environment or enforcing community standards.
Prospective tenants or visitors would need to directly inquire about any specific amenities or services they might expect, but the current public feedback does not highlight any positive service offerings. The primary "service" observed by reviewers seems to be the provision of residential plots without effective management of the community's well-being or upkeep.
---The "features" and "highlights" of Deer Creek Cottages, as described by the provided customer reviews, are overwhelmingly negative and reflect significant concerns about the living environment. It is crucial to present these candidly to provide a factual understanding:
- **Reported Drug Activity:** A major concern highlighted is "Nothing but drug activity in and out throughout the day." This is a serious issue impacting safety and community well-being.
- **Disruptive Behavior:** Reviews mention "Random yelling, cursing, and fighting between tenants and also their visitors," indicating a persistent problem with noise and disorderly conduct.
- **Lack of Property Maintenance:** "Broken down cars left in yards" points to a lack of enforcement regarding property aesthetics and maintenance standards.
- **Ongoing Trash Problem:** An "ongoing trash problem from lazy tenants who throw their trash to the dumpster and missing, then leaving it on the ground to get blown into the neighboring fields and properties" highlights a significant sanitation and environmental issue affecting the community and surrounding areas.
- **Community Dissatisfaction and Management Neglect:** The sentiment that "The owner obviously doesn’t care to correct the problem" indicates a perceived lack of effective management in addressing these pervasive issues. Neighbors are "sick of the in and out traffic, drugs and speeders," underscoring community distress.
- **Safety Concerns for Families:** Comments like "Slow down when traveling on our family, friendly road!" suggest that the traffic and overall environment pose a concern for families in the vicinity.
Based on this feedback, the "highlights" are unfortunately concerns that would deter most individuals or families seeking a safe, clean, and peaceful place to live or stay. There are no positive features or highlights provided in the reviews to counterbalance these significant issues.
---The provided information for Deer Creek Cottages does not include any details regarding promotions, special offers, or pricing. Given the nature of the reviews, which focus on severe community and management issues rather than commercial aspects, it is highly unlikely that any promotional offers are publicly advertised or would be a primary consideration for prospective residents. This property appears to operate as a residential rental community rather than a typical campground with transient rates or seasonal promotions.
For any inquiries about availability or specific rental terms, individuals would need to contact the property directly. However, the existing public feedback would strongly advise a thorough personal assessment of the property and its environment before making any commitments.
---The request did not provide specific phone numbers for Deer Creek Cottages. However, the address is provided:
- **Address:** 2283 Smith Dairy Rd, Atmore, AL 36502, USA
As this property appears to be a residential park rather than a conventional campground, direct phone contact information for management may not be readily available through public search engines, or might be limited. For any inquiries regarding tenancy or property management, interested parties would typically need to visit the site in person (with caution, based on reviews) or attempt to find contact details through local property records or a local directory, if available.
---For Alabamians considering Deer Creek Cottages in Atmore as a potential place to live or stay, the overwhelming sentiment from existing residents and neighbors strongly suggests that it is **not suitable for those seeking a safe, clean, peaceful, or well-managed residential environment**. The provided reviews paint a grim picture that directly contradicts the desires of most individuals and families looking for stable and secure housing.
The consistent reports of **"drug activity," "yelling, cursing, and fighting," "broken down cars," and an "ongoing trash problem"** indicate a severe lack of property management oversight and an environment that is detrimental to residents' quality of life and safety. Furthermore, neighbors' complaints about "in and out traffic, drugs and speeders" directly affect the surrounding "family, friendly road," making it clear that the issues extend beyond the property lines and impact the broader community.
The explicit statement that "The owner obviously doesn’t care to correct the problem" is a critical red flag, signaling that existing issues are likely to persist without intervention. For Alabamians, particularly families, who prioritize a stable, respectful, and clean living situation, Deer Creek Cottages, based on these reviews, falls far short of acceptable standards. It appears to be a residential property experiencing significant challenges, making it an unsuitable choice for those looking for a positive and secure place to call home, even temporarily.
Customer Reviews
This place is an eyesore and a headache to the community that is fed up with its nonsense. Nothing but drug activity in and out throughout the day. Random yelling, cursing, and fighting between tenants and also their visitors. Broken down cars left in yards. And an ongoing trash problem from lazy tenants who throw their trash to the dumpster and missing, then leaving it on the ground to get blown into the neighboring fields and properties. The owner obviously doesn’t care to correct the problem.
I personally don't live here, but I'm a neighbor to this establishment. A few good people that live in the trailer park, but us neighbors are sick of the in and out traffic, drugs and speeders! Slow down when traveling on our family, friendly road!
Pretty damn nice with the exception of the driveway needs to be redone. The potholes are terrible.
Quiet, peaceful park in the country. Well maintained and family friendly.
Peaceful & friendly people live here
