I have been camping at Fort Cobb Lake since I was a little girl. It's the only lake that I've camped at. For all the years I have stayed in Deer Run (Area 2) or Blackjack (Area 1). While I do love staying at this lake it is getting harder and harder to stay because there have been no updates to Deer Run's existing sites. My 5th wheel is a 50 amp and most of the sites are 30 amp. This doesn't make for an enjoyable stay. I like to stay along the water's edge. They consider these sites as premium. So I pay a premium price for a simi-modern 30 amp that I can't run both airs nor can I run 1 air and the microwave or hotwater heater at the same time. There are 2 sites besides the camp host along the water that have 50 amp so it's obviously doable. The park is in serious need of upgrades. My camper won't set on a 30 amp again like I just did for part of my time this summer. With only 2 sites with the 50 amp it's making it difficult to reserve them for next year already. I spend a large amount every summer to stay there from June 30th to at least through the first week of September. But without the sites being upgraded to 50 amp I may start looking for someplace else to spend my summers. I just wish that whoever is in charge would realize that upgrading the sites is a lot more important than all the new signage. Signs aren't what brings people to this lake nice camping areas do. It really is a great lake and a great place to camp I just hope I don't have to go somewhere else. I know this is pointless because the ones that should see this or listen to the people will never see or hear any of it and you can bet the ones making the decisions don't even camp at this lake if they even camp at all.
