The perfect location for a quick getaway. This is an awesome little campground. Unique amenities, like the sauna, and a shop that focus on local businesses. Along with personal touches and a modern feel. They were incredible at communicating during our entire stay. Honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We've recommended it to our friends.
Sep 16, 2025 · Rachel JumperWe had an amazing 2-night stay at Ferncrest Campground with our dog. The bathrooms were very nice and private when you needed. The bed was very comfortable and the tent amenities worked well. Firewood is $10 a bundle, so maybe buy some other local wood to burn if you want to save a few bucks. We are planning to go back again soon, hopefully the pictures capture how lovely it was.
Sep 23, 2025 · Pat CumminsTruly a great experience. We stayed in the large dome tent that fits 6 with my family of 5. It was perfect size, bigger than many hotel rooms we’ve stayed at. All the details are very thought through and everything is so well kept. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend for anyone considering.
Sep 24, 2025 · Samuel ZatserkovnyThis was our first camping experience, and you don’t have to be a camper to love it here! We stayed at Ferncrest in PA with our dogs (super dog-friendly!) and had the dome with a wood-fired hot tub. The dome itself was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped: king bed with Brooklinen sheets, AC/heat, fridge, microwave, outlets, and more. It felt spacious and comfortable. Outside, we had our own private area with a firepit, picnic table, and hot tub. The hot tub does take a while to heat up, but that’s just the nature of wood-fired tubs; plan > 5 hours ahead and you’ll love it! We grilled marinated meats over the fire, explored nearby trails (only a 5-minute drive), and the dogs had the best time outdoors. The little on-site shop, coffee/ice cream truck, and wood-fired sauna with private sessions (reservations required) were all great touches. They do have wi-fi, but I recommend putting your phone down and just immerse into the experience. The whole atmosphere was peaceful and zen, time slowed down, and it was the perfect escape from fast-paced living. We left feeling recharged and didn’t want to go home. Highly recommend Ferncrest for couples, families, friends, and of course dogs. Even if you’re not into camping, this is the experience that everyone needs to try!
Aug 25, 2025 · Nick and JinaOur first time doing any kind of camping experience and couldn’t have asked for a better setup. The dome was very clean and spacious, linens fresh and clean, beds nice and comfortable, and essentials like the cooler and mini fridge were great helps. Our dome had a fire pit in the back and a cute hot tub although we decided not to use the hot tub as we had a short stay. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. Anything you might have forgotten is available in the camp store. And lastly, the staff is very responsive if you have any questions. A great big thanks to everyone that made this experience possible for our family. Will be recommending to others for sure!
