Situated directly on post, this RV park provides a no-frills, efficient, and well-maintained environment designed specifically for the needs of the military community. It's more than just a place to park your RV; it's a direct gateway to the comprehensive resources and amenities available on Fort Leonard Wood, making your stay as convenient as possible.

The Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park is operated by the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program, which is dedicated to supporting the quality of life for service members and their families. This underlying mission means the park prioritizes functionality, cleanliness, and direct access to essential services. Unlike many commercial RV parks, its value lies not in extensive recreational facilities within the park itself, but in its unparalleled location that puts all the post's amenities within easy reach. This strategic placement makes it an ideal choice for those attending training, visiting loved ones, or on temporary duty assignments at Fort Leonard Wood.

Imagine the ease of pulling into a spacious, level site just moments from where you need to be on base. The Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park offers precisely that, providing a straightforward and stress-free experience for RV owners. Its focus on providing excellent basic infrastructure – large, level concrete pads and full hookups – ensures that your RV is comfortable and fully operational during your stay. For those who prioritize convenience, cleanliness, and direct access to military facilities, this RV park is an indispensable resource in the heart of Missouri.

The Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park is uniquely located at 299 Ordinance Dr, Fort Leonard Wood, MO 65473, USA. This address signifies its placement directly on the Fort Leonard Wood military installation in Missouri.

For authorized users, this on-post location offers unparalleled convenience. It means immediate access to all the facilities and resources available on a major military base, including commissaries, PX/BX stores, medical services, recreational facilities (gyms, pools, bowling alley, golf course, etc.), dining options, and more. This eliminates the need for daily commutes from off-post accommodations, saving time and fuel.

Access to the RV park requires entry onto Fort Leonard Wood, which typically involves showing appropriate military ID (CAC card, dependent ID, retired ID, or DoD civilian ID) at the base gates. For visitors without a DoD ID, specific visitor pass procedures must be followed. It's advisable to check the most current base access requirements before your arrival.

Once on post, the park's address on Ordinance Drive suggests it's within a clearly designated area, likely close to other MWR facilities or barracks. The interior roads are paved, as noted by a reviewer, making it easy to navigate with RVs and also ideal for children to enjoy biking and roller skating safely within the park. This direct on-post location is the park's most significant accessibility feature, making it a highly practical choice for military personnel and their families in Missouri.

The Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park offers several distinct features and highlights that make it a unique and practical choice for authorized users in Missouri:

  • On-Post Convenience: This is its most significant highlight. Being located directly on Fort Leonard Wood means unparalleled access to all base facilities, including the commissary, PX, fitness centers, medical clinics, and recreational areas. This eliminates commute times and simplifies daily life for military personnel and their families.

  • Spacious, Level Concrete Pads: A key feature noted by reviewers, the large, level concrete pads provide an easy and stable setup for any size of RV, reducing the hassle of leveling and ensuring comfort.

  • Dedicated Patios: Each site includes a concrete patio, offering a clean, designated outdoor living space for chairs, grills, or simply relaxing outside your RV.

  • Excellent Satellite Exposure: The park's design, intentionally lacking trees, ensures unobstructed views for satellite dishes, which is a major benefit for RVers relying on satellite TV or internet connectivity.

  • Paved Interior Roads: These well-maintained paved roads not only make driving and parking large RVs easier but also provide a safe and fun environment for children to ride bikes and roller skate, as highlighted by a resident.

  • Proximity to Fitness Trail: A "mile away" from an excellent fitness trail, allowing guests easy access to outdoor exercise opportunities without leaving the post.

  • Managed by MWR: As an MWR facility, it's designed with the welfare of military personnel and their families in mind, often implying a focus on affordability and essential services over luxury amenities.

  • Quiet Environment (Implied): While situated on a military post, the park itself appears to offer a relatively quiet environment, especially compared to commercial parks near busy highways. The emphasis is on providing a functional and comfortable place to stay.

These features collectively cater directly to the needs of its primary clientele, providing a highly practical and well-regarded option for RV lodging on Fort Leonard Wood.

As an MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) facility on a military installation, the Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park's pricing structure and "promotions" are generally established to support the military community. Specific, time-limited promotional offers like those found at commercial parks are less common, but the inherent benefits of using an MWR facility often equate to significant value.

Key "offers" or advantageous aspects to consider include:

  • Competitive Pricing: MWR facilities typically offer rates that are highly competitive, often lower than comparable commercial RV parks off-post, as their mission is not solely profit-driven but rather to support the quality of life for service members.

  • Access to Tax-Free Shopping: Guests have direct access to the Commissary and Exchange (PX/BX) on post, allowing them to purchase groceries, household goods, and other items at tax-free or significantly reduced prices compared to off-post retailers. This is a substantial saving for long-term stays.

  • Access to MWR Facilities: Your stay grants you immediate access to a wide array of MWR amenities on post, such as fitness centers, swimming pools, bowling alleys, golf courses, recreational clubs, and dining facilities, often at discounted rates or for free. While not a direct discount on the RV spot itself, these are considerable added values.

  • Controlled Access & Security: The inherent security of being on a military installation provides an elevated sense of safety and peace of mind, a valuable "offer" for many.

  • Short-Term Stay Focus: The park's primary focus on one-week limits for most slots ensures availability for a continuous flow of short-term visitors, which can be an advantage for those needing a quick, reliable stop.

Large, level concrete pads with patios. NO picnic tables (ok for us we never use them anyway). There's nothing here but the sites but the post has everything you need close by. Excellent fitness trail a mile away. Not a single tree which is great for satellite exposure. The neighbors kids seemed to love the paved interior roads for bikes and roller skating

Only a few slots are available for extended stay. The rest are limited to one week. I was unable to get one for the 5 months I was at FLW but the park was never full. It usually had about 5-7 vacant slots. I drove by it on a regular basis while at FLW. The phone is rarely answered or not working in the office. That being said there are other good local options. So don't be discouraged.

What a great new RV park they have on Ft Leonard Wood. Sites are all concrete with hookups centered on the RV pad for easy and short connections. The park is conveniently located near mainside for easy access to the exchange and commissary. Very quiet park other than some road noise every now and then. There were no laundry or bath facilities for this campground. Overall it is a nice park and we will be back again next time I have work in the area.

It is a new, clean, and nice area. The turn in is not useful at all for a travel trailer and I had to go all the way around and then back up into a gravel turn in to make my spot. Just stayed at Ft Bliss for $20 a night with bathrooms/showers/family room/workout facility and 3 dog runs. They need to reduce the rate until it has some support. Not even a grill in any of these sites
