Georgia Coastal RV Park About
Are you looking to explore the beautiful coast of Georgia from the comfort of your RV? Georgia Coastal RV Park in Waynesville offers a practical and budget-friendly option for both short-term getaways and extended stays. Nestled conveniently near major roadways, this RV park provides a no-frills, straightforward approach to camping, focusing on delivering essential services and a friendly atmosphere. For Georgia locals who appreciate value and accessibility to the state's picturesque Golden Isles, Georgia Coastal RV Park presents a suitable base for your adventures.
While some reviews mention aspects like water pressure and minimal on-site amenities, many highlight the significant benefits of staying here: a "very fair price," easy access to the coast, and highly responsive and helpful management. As one long-term resident noted, "Carl, the manager on-site is extremely helpful and nice. If you need anything he is quick to respond and is always friendly." This dedication to customer service often makes all the difference, especially for those planning longer stays while working or exploring the area. If you prioritize a well-managed, affordable, and strategically located spot for your RV, this park is worth considering.
Georgia Coastal RV Park is strategically located at 26610 US-82, Waynesville, GA 31566, USA. This address places it in a prime position for RV travelers seeking to explore the renowned Georgia coast. Waynesville itself is a small community, offering a peaceful setting while serving as an excellent springboard to the region's more popular destinations.
The most significant advantage of this location is its proximity to Interstate 95 (I-95). Being right off a major interstate makes the park incredibly easy to find and access for those traveling with RVs, particularly for quick overnight stops or as a convenient base for exploring. However, as noted in a review, travelers heading south on US-82 may need to drive about 1.5 miles past the park to find a turn-around due to a median, which is a minor but important detail for planning your arrival.
Despite being in a quieter area, the park lives up to its "Coastal" name. It is approximately 30 minutes away from the stunning Georgia coastline, including popular destinations like Brunswick and the famous Golden Isles: Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island, and Sea Island. These islands offer a wealth of activities, from pristine beaches, historic sites, and charming downtowns to golf courses, nature trails, and various water sports. This relatively short drive allows residents to easily enjoy the best of Georgia's coastal attractions without being in the midst of the bustling tourist areas.
For daily necessities, Brunswick, a larger city to the east, provides comprehensive shopping, dining, and medical facilities. This ensures that while the park offers a tranquil setting, all essential services are within a reasonable driving distance. The convenience of being close to these major hubs, combined with the quiet atmosphere of Waynesville, makes Georgia Coastal RV Park a practical and appealing choice for RVers exploring or working in the region.
Georgia Coastal RV Park focuses on providing fundamental services to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for RVers. While it emphasizes affordability and a straightforward approach, essential amenities are in place. Based on available information and direct accounts from residents, you can expect the following services:
- Full Hookups: All RV sites are equipped with full hookups, which include electrical service (often 30 and 50 amp options), water connections, and sewer hookups. This is crucial for both short-term and extended stays, allowing RVers to utilize all their onboard facilities.
- On-Site Management: A dedicated on-site manager, like Carl mentioned in reviews, is available to assist residents. This personal touch ensures that inquiries and needs are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: The park is explicitly dog-friendly, welcoming furry companions. Rules are in place to ensure a harmonious environment for all, such as dogs needing to be on a leash, a limit of two dogs per site (unless approved by management), and responsible clean-up after pets.
- Restroom/Shower Facilities: While one review mentioned the appearance of these facilities from the outside ("container box"), the availability of restrooms and showers is a standard service, providing convenience for campers. Guests typically receive codes for access.
- Laundry Facilities: Access to laundry rooms is available, providing convenience for longer stays. Some reviews for similar parks highlight clean facilities for a fee.
- Trash Disposal: Designated areas for trash disposal are provided to maintain cleanliness throughout the park.
- Easy to Find Access: Despite needing a U-turn for southbound travelers on US-82, the park is generally easy to locate due to its direct proximity to the highway.
- Flexible Stay Options: The park accommodates both short-term (daily/weekly) and long-term (monthly) stays, offering various rates to suit different travel plans.
These core services ensure that RVers have the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable and extended visit to the Georgia coast.
Georgia Coastal RV Park, while focusing on practicality and affordability, offers several features that make it a notable option for RVers exploring the region. These highlights often contribute to a comfortable and convenient stay:

A long-term resident enjoyed seeing "lots of birds including osprey, hummingbirds, egrets, swallow-tailed kites, and red breasted woodpeckers, and more," adding a pleasant natural element to the stay.

- Easy Access to I-95: For travelers, the direct access to Interstate 95 simplifies arrivals and departures, making it a convenient stopover or a base for regional travel.
- Site Options (Two Sides of Highway): The availability of "nice spots to choose from" on "Either side of the highway" suggests some variety in site selection, potentially offering different levels of peace or ease of access.
These features collectively contribute to a practical, affordable, and generally positive experience for RVers at Georgia Coastal RV Park.

Its practicality and location make it an appealing choice for a diverse range of local RVers. The park's primary appeal for locals lies in its cost-effectiveness and strategic placement. In a state where coastal living can be expensive, Georgia Coastal RV Park provides an accessible entry point to enjoy the region's attractions without breaking the bank. The "very fair price," especially for long-term stays, makes it a sensible choice for those working in the Brunswick area or "snowbirds" from northern Georgia looking for a milder winter retreat.
Accessibility is another key factor for local users. Being located right off US-82 and close to I-95 ensures easy travel to and from the park, minimizing driving time and maximizing vacation time. For weekend getaways, the roughly "30 mins" drive to the Golden Isles – Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island, and Sea Island – is a significant advantage. Georgians can easily hop over to enjoy the beaches, historic sites, fishing, and golf that these famous islands offer, making it a perfect hub for quick excursions without the need for extensive travel planning.
Furthermore, the park's atmosphere and management contribute to its suitability for locals. The consistent praise for Carl, the on-site manager, being "extremely helpful and nice" and "quick to respond," speaks to a level of personalized service that can greatly enhance a stay. This hands-on management, coupled with a clean and dog-friendly environment, provides a welcoming and reliable experience. While some amenities might be basic, the focus on essential services and a friendly atmosphere often outweighs minor inconveniences for those prioritizing value and a good base for exploration. For any Georgian RVer, whether embarking on a weekend adventure or a longer work assignment, Georgia Coastal RV Park offers a practical, affordable, and well-managed place to call home on the beautiful Georgia coast.
Customer Reviews
Whew, where to begin.. we booked this campground for a week and a half by finding it on CampSpot. The photos on CampSpot looked decent enough for us to stay here for that length of time. A few days before our trip, I read some reviews about holes (potholes) which didn’t seem to concerning, but those can definitely be filled in for a better experience pulling your camper in and out of there. The cons: the water pressure is terrible, it’s very difficult to take a shower and feel clean. There is no check in area, so when we arrived, we didn’t know where to go and I had to pull up my reservation and a digital campground map to find our spot. We tried to called, but it went to voicemail and he texted that he was with another customer. He did call back about an hour or so later to see if we got settled in. The spots are pretty small, and you can’t really sit and relax outside. There’s also no fire pit rings or picnic tables (not a huge deal). The campground was easy to find, however, we had to drive 1.5 miles past it in order to turn around and be able to turn in. There’s no turn lane to pull in as there’s a median there. The bathrooms that are there is like a container box that was placed there. I didn’t go in them to see how sanitary they were. The pros: it was easy to find, and it’s pretty close to the coast (about 30 mins). We ended up having to depart after 2 nights due to water issues. The water started having a horrid smell. That mixed with almost zero water pressure was my last straw. I emailed them, and they refunded the remainder of my trip fees. They did give us the option to stay a few days if we needed to in order to find a new campground, which is why I gave this review 2 stars instead of 1.
Stayed here for a few months while working in the area. Easy drive from Brunswick and very fair price. Carl, the manager on-site is extremely helpful and nice. If you need anything he is quick to respond and is always friendly. Either side of the highway has nice spots to choose from. In my time here I saw lots of birds including osprey, hummingbirds, egrets, swallow-tailed kites, and red breasted woodpeckers, and more. Dog friendly park that is kept clean. If I’m ever back in the area would definitely stay here again.
It's not a RV park in the traditional sense. I think at least 90% of the RV crowd there live there permanently. It does have access to a pond but it has a lot of trash in it
Very helpful owners .some traffic noise full hookup make sure you have a long sewage hose. Owners are still fixing this place but I think once its finished it will be a great spot we had a nice pull through spot.close to things to do.like Jekyll island and st Simon. And okaffanoki swamp .
I wish i could give this place zero stars. 1-1/2 foot holes everywhere in our "campsite" if you want to call it that. More like, lets just back people in wherever and call it a campsite. This place is even worse than any picture they have listed online. I had the neighbors dog, leash and all, come visit me while trying to hook up. He was intimidating but friendly. The lake front view is more like a glorified drainage ditch. We ended up booking elsewhere and leaving. The manager told me that he would refund my money and shocker here, still waiting on that refund. Do not stay here.
