Our aim is to present available public information, including its location and essential contact details. Crucially, we will also incorporate insights gleaned from real customer reviews to provide a balanced and transparent perspective on what prospective members or residents might expect from this community. Location and Accessibility

Hidden Lakes Community Association is located at 5248 Township Rd 108, Mt Gilead, OH 43338, USA. This address places the community within Morrow County, a picturesque region of Central Ohio known for its rolling hills, agricultural landscapes, and recreational opportunities, particularly around the Mt. Gilead State Park and its lake. The setting offers a peaceful, rural escape, providing a quiet environment away from the density of larger cities.

The community's position on Township Road 108 places it slightly off the main thoroughfares, contributing to its secluded and tranquil atmosphere. Despite this, it remains accessible to the village of Mt. Gilead, which serves as the county seat and provides essential local amenities such as grocery stores, local businesses, and some dining options. For broader accessibility, Mt. Gilead is conveniently located near major state routes, including US-23 and I-71, both significant north-south arteries in Ohio. This connectivity allows residents and members to easily reach larger cities like Columbus to the south and Cleveland or Toledo to the north, although these journeys would require more substantial travel time.

The accessibility of Hidden Lakes Community Association would appeal to Ohio residents who value a peaceful, natural environment but still require reasonable access to urban centers for work, extensive shopping, or specialized services. Its location offers a balance between rural serenity and practical convenience, making it a potentially attractive option for those seeking a property or community space in a tranquil setting within Central Ohio.

Services Offered

As a "Community Association," Hidden Lakes likely functions differently from a typical public campground or mobile home park, often implying shared ownership or membership responsibilities. While specific, exhaustive details of its services are not broadly publicized, based on the nature of such associations and common practices, members/residents can typically expect the following:

  • Property Lots/Sites: The association likely manages individual lots or sites, which can be owned or leased by members for mobile homes, RVs, or cabins.
  • Common Area Management: The association is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of shared facilities and infrastructure. This commonly includes:
    • Internal roads within the community.
    • Management of common grounds, including green spaces and potentially the "hidden lakes" themselves.
    • Maintenance of any communal buildings or amenities (e.g., clubhouses, recreation areas).
  • Utility Access: Members would typically have access to utility hookups (such as water, electricity, and possibly sewer) to their individual properties, with direct responsibility for their usage bills.
  • Community Governance: As an association, there would be a governing body (e.g., a board of directors) responsible for establishing and enforcing bylaws, managing finances (funded by member fees), and making decisions regarding the community's operations and future.
  • Community Building Efforts: One review highlights "all the good people uplifting by coming together for their community and just what the kiddos deserve this place is coming around." This suggests active community engagement and volunteer efforts to improve the living environment and create a more positive space for families, which can be considered an invaluable, though intangible, service.

It is important to note a review mentioning "rampant theft by persons unknown" and advising to "secure your property." While not a service offered, this points to a potential need for residents to be proactive in personal security, a factor that prospective members should consider and inquire about directly with the association regarding any security measures in place.

Features / Highlights

Understanding the specific features and highlights of Hidden Lakes Community Association is crucial for prospective members in Ohio to determine if it aligns with their expectations for a community-oriented living or recreational experience. Based on the provided customer reviews and the nature of a "Community Association," here are some points to consider:

  • Affordable Living/Property: One review explicitly states, "If you can secure your property, it is a very inexpensive place to live." This highlights a significant financial advantage, suggesting that property ownership or long-term living within this community can be remarkably affordable compared to other housing options in Ohio. This is a major draw for individuals and families on a budget.
  • Community Spirit and Improvement: A strong highlight is the active and positive community engagement. A reviewer noted, "With all the good people uplifting by coming together for their community and just what the kiddos deserve this place is coming around." This indicates a vibrant community spirit, where members actively work together to improve their shared living environment, suggesting a supportive and proactive resident base. This collective effort is a powerful feature for those seeking a true sense of belonging and mutual support.
  • Lakes and Natural Setting: The name "Hidden Lakes" inherently suggests the presence of lakes within or adjacent to the community. This natural feature would typically offer opportunities for water-based recreation, scenic views, and a tranquil environment, appealing to nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat.
  • Potential for Family-Friendly Environment: The mention of "what the kiddos deserve" in a positive review implies that there are efforts or desires within the community to create a family-friendly atmosphere and amenities, which could include playgrounds, open spaces, or organized children's activities.

However, it is vital to acknowledge a significant concern raised in one review: "Rampant theft by persons unknown." While the positive review suggests a community "coming around," this concern about security is critical and indicates that members may need to take extra precautions to secure their property. Prospective members should inquire about any security measures, such as patrols, surveillance, or gated access, that the association has implemented or plans to implement.

Overall, Hidden Lakes Community Association appears to offer a compelling value proposition through affordability and strong community spirit, set within a natural, lake-filled environment. However, potential members should thoroughly investigate the security aspects to ensure peace of mind.

Promotions or Special Offers

At this time, specific promotions or special offers for Hidden Lakes Community Association are not publicly advertised or readily available through the provided information. As a "Community Association," its structure likely involves membership fees or lot ownership rather than typical rental or nightly camping rates seen at commercial campgrounds. Therefore, traditional "promotions" in the sense of discounts on stays might be less common.

However, associations may sometimes offer:

  • Reduced initial membership fees for new members.
  • Incentives for purchasing available lots or homes within the community.
  • Special rates for annual or multi-year memberships, if applicable.

Given that the primary appeal seems to be long-term affordability and community involvement, the "promotion" might be the inherent value of an "inexpensive place to live" as mentioned by a reviewer, coupled with the benefit of an actively engaged community.

Prospective members or individuals interested in understanding the cost structure, including membership fees, annual dues, or lot purchase prices, are highly advised to:

  • Contact Hidden Lakes Community Association directly: This is the most reliable way to inquire about any available properties, membership requirements, fee structures, and any potential incentives for joining the community.

This collective endeavor to improve the community is a powerful draw for those seeking a genuine neighborhood feel and mutual support.

However, it is crucial for prospective members to seriously consider the concern regarding "rampant theft." This feedback necessitates a thorough inquiry into the association's current and planned security measures. Transparency and direct discussion with the association about these issues would be vital to ensure peace of mind.

In conclusion, Hidden Lakes Community Association offers a distinct proposition for Ohio locals: an affordable living or seasonal property option nestled in a quiet, natural setting with a commendable, active community spirit. I have never visited this place although I have herd alot about it. I havent been down by the park in quite a while until last night, I couldnt believe what I saw. That place is a run down mess, drug central haven. They need to clear that place out. I cant believe the county lets the things go on at that campground. They really need to get the military in that place and clean house. They need to get the dope dealers, druggies and all the rest of them out of that place and shut it down permanently.

So the first time I went up here I got a negative vibe because of how run down the roads were and the poor maintenance of the surrounding properties. Since then, my last visit they fixed the roads and actively had people in the office(which they rarely do) and doing some maintenance around that area which tells me they might actually be trying to get this place together
