Holiday Harbor RV Park: Your Lakeside Sanctuary in Upstate New York
For New Yorkers seeking a refreshing escape where the natural beauty of the Great Lakes meets a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, Holiday Harbor RV Park stands out as a prime destination. Located in Red Creek, New York, this family-owned and operated resort offers a unique seasonal retreat nestled on a picturesque 45-acre property between the sweeping shores of Lake Ontario and the protected, serene waters of Blind Sodus Bay. It is a true waterfront haven, designed for families, friends, and outdoor enthusiasts who want to embrace the camping and boating lifestyle.
The core of the Holiday Harbor experience is its strong sense of community. Guests frequently commend the super friendly staff and residents, who contribute to a welcoming environment that feels like a home away from home. The management is dedicated to preserving the resort's natural charm while continually enhancing the facilities, including the recent addition of a brand-new, state-of-the-art dock system with 42 boat slips to significantly improve water access for all visitors. This blend of friendly hospitality and enhanced modern amenities makes it an ideal spot for creating generations of cherished summer memories.
It is important to acknowledge that every business, particularly in the hospitality sector, faces challenges. One customer review highlighted a deeply unfortunate incident involving a motorhome fire and subsequent dissatisfaction with the refund and storage fee policy under a prior interaction. While tragic and concerning, the widespread positive feedback regarding the community, cleanliness, and dedication of the staff indicates that the overall experience for the vast majority of guests remains excellent, emphasizing the resort’s beautiful setting and social activities. Potential guests are always encouraged to contact the current management directly regarding specific policies to ensure comfort with their terms and conditions.
Overall, Holiday Harbor RV Park offers a unique waterfront experience in the heart of Upstate New York, providing the perfect base for exploring the region's vast natural and historical attractions.

Conclusion: Why Holiday Harbor is Suitable for Local New Yorkers
For residents of the New York region—particularly those in Central and Western New York—Holiday Harbor RV Park represents an ideal summer sanctuary that is conveniently located but feels worlds away. Its suitability for locals stems from several key factors. First, the resort offers a true seasonal home option, with both seasonal and monthly RV sites available, allowing local families to establish a regular summer retreat without the commitment of a second home. The proximity to major population centers like Syracuse and Rochester means that seasonal campers can easily commute on weekends or for longer summer breaks.
Second, the exceptional water access and features are a major draw. Having a private beach, a modern dock system, and direct frontage on both Lake Ontario and Blind Sodus Bay provides unmatched recreational variety. Boaters and fishing enthusiasts will find everything they need on-site, making the most of New York’s incredible freshwater resources.
Finally, the strong sense of community and the friendly, family-focused atmosphere creates an environment where lasting friendships are formed. This is the place for those looking to unplug from the fast pace of urban or suburban life and connect with nature and with one another through shared activities like cookouts and tournaments. While travelers should exercise due diligence regarding business policies, the overall reputation highlights a well-maintained, beautiful campground that consistently delivers a friendly and memorable upstate New York camping experience, making it a highly recommended local option for a seasonal or transient stay.

Excellent campground with super friendly staff and residents. It’s set in a beautiful place between blind Sodus bay and the lake, in which they have a nice lake front siting area available. They also offer cook outs and horse shoe tournaments and a variety of other activities. They also just added a new dock set up so if you have a boat you can launch it from there and enjoy the lake and bay as well. They have transient spots and also seasonal sites available. I loved my experience with the park.
Aug 04, 2025 · Curtis BeebeMy motorhome caught fire the day we arrived. Very helpful in putting fire out. However, it was totaled and we had to spend thousands, not covered by insurance, getting home, so we asked about a refund for the prepaid five days. Never took the site and it was moved to a back unused area. Wasn’t even holiday weekend. Owner refused to refund anything AND pocketed the extra $400 the insurance company paid for “storage” he charged. Asked for just the $400 extra he got and said certainly don’t want to profit from the tragedy of another, do you? Crickets since. Do yourself a favor and show your opposition to greedy and selfish business practices. Share this, don’t stay there and tell everyone to avoid this place.
Sep 13, 2025 · Steve SaccocciaThis was our first season staying at Holiday Harbor Resort and I can tell you it's a little piece of heaven. The owners have a site there and are nothing but accommodating. The other campers are all so welcoming and the gatherings they have are wonderful ❤😎 You have the sunrise on the bay and the sunset on the lake. Great kayaking and fishing, a very beautiful and peaceful place. So thankful we found it❣
Sep 06, 2024 · Jeannie PoyneerHonestly the permanent site people are very rude that in the back. We camped at the "newer" sites in the back and the permanent residents were very unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome at our own site (that we also pay for) like it was our fault that the owner put in 3 newer sites that are actual really small where you can touch the camper next to you when you come out of your own. Also, if you own a big rig, don't camp in the back or the trees will scratch your camper, it is a tight squeeze. We also got talked to about non-driver license person driving the golf cart when we had all adults and 3 little kids (10 years and younger) that are not allowed to drive our golf cart. It is a very beautiful place but the environment was toxic. We are seasoned campers and travel all over new york to different places and this was one place that was very unwelcoming to newcomers.
Aug 18, 2024 · Casey JursFirst year here as seasonal campers. After leaving a resort for the past 3 years. What a difference. We love it here. Our 3 year old son and 5 year old daughter have a blast here. All the owners are great people and want nothing but a great time to be had by all!! If you're looking for a gem it's here.
