Among them, mobile home parks often stand out as a practical and accessible solution for many. Today, we're taking a closer look at a specific local establishment: Huntington Mobile Home Park. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of what Huntington Mobile Home Park offers, helping you decide if it's the right fit for your living needs in the heart of Louisiana.
Mobile home parks, also known as manufactured home communities, provide an alternative to traditional stick-built homes or apartment living. They can offer a sense of community, often at a more accessible price point, making homeownership or long-term rental more attainable for a diverse range of individuals and families. Huntington Mobile Home Park, located right here in Shreveport, is one such community that has served residents for a significant period. Understanding its offerings, location, and community feedback can help you make an informed decision as you navigate your housing journey.
Huntington Mobile Home Park is conveniently situated at 6850 Klug Pines Rd, Shreveport, LA 71129, USA. This location places it within easy reach of various local amenities and major roadways, which can be a significant advantage for daily commutes and accessing essential services. Shreveport, a major city in northwest Louisiana, offers a blend of urban conveniences and southern charm.
The park's location on Klug Pines Road provides a balance between residential tranquility and accessibility. For residents, this means relatively easy access to local schools, grocery stores, healthcare facilities, and recreational opportunities within Shreveport. The proximity to major thoroughfares in Shreveport allows for efficient travel throughout the city and to surrounding areas. Whether you're heading to work, running errands, or simply exploring what Shreveport has to offer, the park's location plays a crucial role in daily convenience. Reviews from current and past residents often highlight the location as a positive aspect, noting the "peace and quiet" that can be found within the park, despite its urban setting. This suggests that while it’s accessible, it also offers a degree of respite from the hustle and bustle.
Understanding the services provided by a mobile home park is essential for prospective residents. While specific details about all services offered by Huntington Mobile Home Park beyond what is publicly available are limited, based on typical mobile home park operations and customer reviews, we can infer some common aspects.
- Lot Rentals: A primary service of mobile home parks is the rental of individual lots where residents can place their own manufactured homes. This allows individuals to own their home while renting the land it sits on, often at a more affordable rate than purchasing both land and a traditional home.
- Utilities (Varying): While the specifics can vary, many mobile home parks provide hookups for essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity. The billing for these utilities might be included in the lot rent or managed separately by the resident directly with utility providers.
- On-site Maintenance (Limited Scope): As noted in customer feedback, the park does have maintenance personnel, though their scope of work and responsiveness can vary. Reviews mention instances where maintenance was provided for issues like A/C units (with positive mentions of specific staff members like Jason for A/C work) and plumbing concerns like running toilets. However, residents have also reported delays and a perceived reluctance from some staff to address certain issues promptly or completely, particularly regarding pre-move-in repairs or significant structural damages to porches.
- Property Management: Like any rental community, Huntington Mobile Home Park has a property management team responsible for overseeing operations, enforcing park rules, collecting rent, and handling resident inquiries and concerns. However, customer reviews indicate significant issues with property management's responsiveness, follow-through on promises, and perceived unfair practices. Some residents have reported difficulties in getting issues addressed, with claims of unfulfilled repair commitments, delays in delivering essential appliances, and challenges in communicating with both local management and corporate offices.
- Community Rules and Regulations: Mobile home parks typically have a set of rules and regulations designed to ensure a harmonious living environment for all residents. These rules cover aspects such as property upkeep, noise levels, pet policies, and parking. While these are common, some former residents have raised concerns about the inconsistent or discriminatory enforcement of rules, particularly against specific racial groups.
Based on available information and customer feedback, here are some features and highlights of Huntington Mobile Home Park:
- Quiet Location: Despite being in Shreveport, the park is frequently noted for its quiet atmosphere. This can be a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful living environment away from excessive city noise.
- Accessibility: Its location on Klug Pines Rd offers relatively easy access to various parts of Shreveport, making commutes and errands more convenient.
- Community Environment (Potential): While there are significant concerns raised about management, the structure of a mobile home park inherently offers the potential for a community feel, where neighbors live in close proximity. However, the reported issues with management and resident experiences may impact the realization of this potential.
- Affordability (Implied): Mobile home living is often chosen for its relative affordability compared to traditional housing. While specific pricing isn't provided, this is generally a key feature of such parks.
- On-site A/C Maintenance Expertise: One specific positive highlight from reviews is the quality of A/C work performed by a staff member named Jason, suggesting expertise in this critical area, especially important in Louisiana's climate.

For many Shreveport residents, Huntington Mobile Home Park presents a housing option that warrants consideration. Its location on Klug Pines Road offers a blend of accessibility to city amenities and a noted quiet environment, which can be appealing for those seeking a peaceful retreat within an urban setting. The potential for a strong community feel, often a hallmark of mobile home parks, can also be a significant draw for individuals and families looking for more than just a place to live, but a neighborhood to belong to.
However, it's important to acknowledge that the suitability of Huntington Mobile Home Park for locals will depend heavily on individual priorities and expectations, particularly in light of the significant concerns raised by past and current residents regarding management practices, maintenance responsiveness, and alleged discriminatory treatment. While the affordability and communal aspect of mobile home living can be attractive, prospective residents are strongly advised to conduct thorough due diligence. This includes visiting the park, speaking with current residents if possible, and ensuring that all agreements regarding repairs and living conditions are clearly documented and confirmed before committing. Ultimately, Huntington Mobile Home Park offers a unique living proposition in Shreveport. For locals seeking an alternative to traditional housing, with an emphasis on a quieter location and potentially more accessible costs, it could be a viable option. However, understanding and proactively addressing the reported challenges with management will be key to a positive experience.
Customer Reviews
Part of the reason for our reviews are so that other consumers know what to expect if they decide to proceed with their interactions with the businesses we review. Therefore, I decided to re-review my original post to elaborate more on why I gave the original rating that I gave. The two stars I rated the mobile home park are due to the location of it as well as the peace and quiet. However, dealing with management and staff here have not been a pleasant experience. I moved in just under a month and a half ago. Everything that I speak of during this review was reported as soon as the problem was identified. Most of the list are things that should have been addressed prior to my move in. I reported immediately that I had no refrigerator, it took 7 days for them to deliver me one. There was someone cleaning my trailer the day of my move-in and the things that they should have them cleaning, they don't, I'll post before and after pics of my stove shortly. All the trash on the outside of the trailer was left for me to clean up. I forgot to take pics before I cleaned it up. Ninety-eight percent of the time the property manager never does what they say they will do when they say it will be done...unless they are out sourcing the job beyond immediate employees. Immediate employees are quick to tell you what they are not going to do or what their job IS NOT. I wa handed drip pans on yesterday to install myself, mainenance. This past weekend I had family come from out of town. One of my eyes caught fire nad another one somked so bad it took all night to clear the smoke and burning smell. Of the list submitted, a month and a half later half of the list is still incomplete. It took over a month for them to get someone out here to stop a running toilet. I am still waiting on someone to come out to assess the severity of the damage to the porches, and it is bad. Maybe they're waiting for someone to injure themselves before something is done.....or maybe it retribution for being out spoken 🤷🏾♂️. There was a mentioning positive experience. Jason is great with the work he does on the a/c units. Corporate office will not take your phone calls or respond to mailed correspondences. I have more, but you get the hint. So, should you decide to rent even after this review, my advice to you would be to make sure ALL work is done BEFORE move in....or good luck getting it done.
The property manager is racist. The owner does not get involved or care about the tenants. The trailers are old and not up to part with safe healthy living conditions. I paid first months rent and deposit the trailers was not ready for move in. Even after move in repairs still was not done. For 4 months I constantly got excuses on why repairs haven’t been done. They have one maintenance man with no help. In May I communicated with property manager and maintenance man about holding rent til repairs are done instead of just fixing it. She illegally evicted me, changed the locks while I was in the process of moving. Locked herself in the house and I had to call the police to gain access to get the rest of my property. At that point the police reviewed all the paper to find the whole eviction was illegal. The went through and took my belongings. Not to mention she raise May’s rent by $1500 with a clear explanation or proof of the fees. Property manager enforced made up rules that only applied to black people. Another tenant is now also black going through the same thing. We are currently in the process of filing lawsuits for slumlord violations, unhealthy living conditions, unlawful evictions.
I love it over here it's absolutely NOT a rundown park AT ALL. It's and quiet and safe environment. The landlord Sarah works very hard trying to make sure EVERYONE is taken care of over here. I been here almost 2 years and i haven't had any issues. I love it here😁
Was a more decent park long ago when park management enforced rules and required all residents to abide and keep their places up. Now they dont though. They care only about getting and keeping the rents. Meanwhile the water system fails regularly, the streets are bad and they will not repair things in a timely manner. It has gone way, WAY downhill, while their prices have only gone up skyhigh. Criminal.
Absolutely horrible place to live!!! The trailer my son is renting has MAJOR electrical problems and it's always an excuse, and NEVER AN ACTUAL BUSINESS CALLED TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEMS! It's always been just someone the manager knows! When asked for the main management number, the park manager says she can't give it out! You have to mail your payment to some address out of state, when you google the address there is no business there and no phone number!
