Jado Park Campground distinguishes itself as a "super chill campground," a haven for those who prioritize peace and simplicity over elaborate, resort-style amenities. It's designed for campers who want to truly unplug and enjoy the essence of being outdoors. Reviewers consistently highlight its relaxed atmosphere, contrasting it favorably with "KOA or other fancier places" that can sometimes feel chaotic. This campground embraces a straightforward approach to camping, focusing on providing comfortable, clean, and functional spaces where families can genuinely enjoy their time together.
One of the immediate appeals of Jado Park Campground is its suitability for tent campers, offering "beautiful spot on top of a hill perfect for when we got a bit of rain." This thoughtful site placement speaks to a design that considers practical comfort, even during unexpected weather. Beyond the campsites themselves, the park provides amenities that cater to active families, including a "nice play area with soccer goals and a basketball hoop." What's truly endearing is the observation that "kids spent most of their time rolling down the hills though!" – a testament to the simple, outdoor joys the campground naturally encourages, free from digital distractions.
While Jado Park maintains a relaxed vibe, it doesn't skimp on essentials. The "showers are good and bathrooms are clean," which is a critical detail for any comfortable camping experience. The friendliness of the owners also contributes to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring campers feel at ease from the moment they arrive. For Michigan families looking for a genuine, low-key camping adventure where the focus is on connection and outdoor play, Jado Park Campground offers a refreshing and highly appealing alternative to more bustling destinations.
Jado Park Campground is located at 5603 Michigan Ave, Tipton, MI 49287, USA. Tipton is a small community situated in Lenawee County, in the southeastern part of Michigan. This location offers excellent accessibility for a large portion of Michigan residents, particularly those in the Detroit metropolitan area, Ann Arbor, Toledo (Ohio, just across the border), and surrounding communities. The drive to Tipton from these areas is typically straightforward, often via US-12 (Michigan Avenue), making it a convenient destination for quick weekend trips or longer, relaxed stays.

This nearby county park offers a "nice green beach area with water deep enough to play in," providing a crucial swimming spot that Jado Park itself doesn't have. This symbiotic relationship with a nearby public amenity further enhances Jado Park's appeal as a practical and enjoyable camping destination for Michigan families.

Customer Reviews
Super chill campground. We tent camp so we had a beautiful spot on top of a hill perfect for when we got a bit of rain our first night. They have a nice play area with soccer goals and a basketball hoop. Our kids spent most of their time rolling down the hills though! While they don't have a pool or swimming spot Vineyard County Park is 10min away and has a nice green beach area with water deep enough to play in but no big drops where you'll have to worry about small kids, they also have free life vests to borrow! Dogs are allowed and you can even fish and BBQ (there are grills and picnic tables). JaDo is the perfect spot to just rest and recharge without all the chaos of a KOA or other fancier places. Showers are good and bathrooms are clean. Our family is going to be back several times I'm sure. 🙂
The campground was nicely taken care of. Talked with owner for a bit seemed friendly. Only con was the traffic noise from US12 and the pond was a swamp really.
Well first off I been going to Ja fo for years ! They been there 25 years & that’s how long I been going , took my kids there , it’s just gorgeous ! Little piece of heaven ! We recently stayed there coming back to mi ( I’m from mi ) all my life Jerry lamb & Terri lambert ) and had the nicest relaxing time , met great neighbors joe / Debbie which will be camping where we are at now , bc we had to go bc of booking for races and fastest horse festival, we will always come back , the squirrels and the deer. & the owners couldn’t be more sweeter 😞Kay thank you and your husband for your hospitality, your campground is beautiful! Not loud and you sleep like a baby , I’d give 200 stars if I could ! Thank you again & see you again soon ! Thank you for everything! Great job you guys ! Highly recommend this place !
It's a really nice set up, great place for kids to enjoy different activities, but the owner is really rude. For being a family oriented place, the owner sure needs to learn some people skills! My wife and I were there visiting friends with our daughter and we were leaving to go buy water. The owner went off on us for driving when we shouldn't have. We didn't know what was going on. But he spoke to us like we were criminals. The only reason he didn't get cussed out or worse was out of respect for our friends that have the yearly campsite.
Actual rating is a 4.99 stars. Only reason its not 5-star is that its not 50-amp. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time there. Quiet, nice size sites, and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They have a bathhouse, but we didn't use them. They did have activities on the Sat. we were there, but we didn't participate. Will definitely stay here again if/when back in the area.
