Kreher RV Park is strategically located at 200 Prentice Ave N, Ashland, WI 54806, USA. This address places it directly on the shores of Lake Superior in the charming city of Ashland, Wisconsin. The park's prime waterfront position is a significant draw, offering "a nice view of the lake" from all sites, as highlighted by delighted visitors.
Accessibility to Kreher RV Park is remarkably easy, particularly for those traveling in recreational vehicles. Prentice Avenue North is a well-established route in Ashland, making navigation straightforward even for large RVs. The park's location within the city means it's readily accessible from major routes serving Ashland, ensuring a smooth arrival. For Wisconsin locals, Ashland serves as a key hub for exploring the Apostle Islands region and the wider Chequamegon Bay area of Lake Superior.
One of the most appealing aspects of its location is the convenient access it provides to the region's main attractions. Reviewers specifically note the "very easy 30 min drive to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore," making Kreher RV Park an ideal base for exploring this iconic national treasure. Furthermore, its location within Ashland means easy access to local amenities, including shops, restaurants, and other city services, providing a perfect blend of natural beauty and urban convenience. The park's setting right on the lake allows for immediate enjoyment of the waterfront, whether it's for scenic views or direct access to the water for various activities.
Kreher RV Park is well-equipped to provide a comfortable and convenient stay for RV enthusiasts. Based on customer reviews, the park offers a range of essential services:
- Full Hookup Sites: Campers can expect sites with full hookups, including both water and electricity (including 50 amp service, as noted by a reviewer). While sewer hookups are implied with "full hookup," one reviewer mentioned that site 10 specifically did not have sewer, suggesting some variability, so it's always good to confirm.
- Dump Station: A dump station is available for waste disposal, though it can get "really busy" during peak times, indicating its popularity.
- Restroom Facilities: The park provides "decent" facilities, including restrooms, which are essential for all campers.
- Water Access: Sites have access to water, ensuring convenience for RVers.
- Pet-Friendly: While not explicitly stated, the presence of an RV park generally implies a pet-friendly policy, especially with the outdoor nature of the location. Always best to confirm specific pet rules.
- No Reservations (First-Come, First-Served): A key service model of Kreher RV Park is its "no-reservations" policy, operating on a "first come, first serve" basis. This means campers need to arrive early, especially for prime spots.
- Overflow Area: For those arriving when lakefront sites are full, the park offers an "overflow" area, providing a temporary solution until a preferred spot becomes available.
Kreher RV Park stands out with several appealing features and highlights that contribute to a memorable camping experience:
- Stunning Lake Views: All sites are noted to have a "nice view of the lake," providing picturesque scenery right from your RV. Waking up to Lake Superior is an incredible experience.
- Family-Friendly Environment: A "nice playground where our kids spent ALL of their time" highlights the park's appeal to families, offering entertainment for younger visitors.
- Proximity to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore: Located just a "very easy 30 min drive" from this iconic national treasure, the park serves as an ideal base for exploring sea caves, islands, and engaging in various outdoor activities.
- First-Come, First-Served Adventure: While it requires early arrival, the "first come, first serve" policy adds a sense of spontaneity and the reward of securing a coveted lakeside spot, particularly appealing to those who enjoy a less structured travel plan.
- Spacious Sites: Reviewers mention "great park nice spaces," suggesting that sites are adequately sized to accommodate RVs comfortably.
- Convenient City Access: Being located in Ashland, campers have easy access to local shops, restaurants, and other city amenities, combining natural beauty with urban conveniences.
- Lake Superior Access: Beyond just views, the park's location on the lake means opportunities for fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the vastness of Lake Superior.
As a municipal or privately-run RV park that operates on a "no-reservations, first-come, first-served" basis, Kreher RV Park typically relies on consistent daily rates rather than complex promotional offers. Its value proposition is built on its prime location, amenities, and accessibility. Therefore, specific, ongoing "promotions" in the traditional sense (e.g., discounted rates for certain periods, loyalty programs) are unlikely to be widely advertised.
However, the park's inherent affordability and consistent value for its location and services could be considered its main "promotion." Visitors typically pay a standard nightly rate. Any potential variations might include:
- Seasonal Rate Adjustments: Prices might vary slightly between peak summer season and the quieter spring/fall months, although this is not guaranteed for all "first-come, first-served" parks.
- Weekly Rates: Some parks offer a slight discount for booking a full week, but again, with a "no reservations" policy, this would be on a continuous occupancy basis.
It is always recommended to contact Kreher RV Park directly for the most current daily rates and any information regarding payment methods. Given its operational model, arriving prepared with the standard daily fee in mind is the best approach.

Customer Reviews
We loved Kreher Park! Great little no-reservations campground. All of the sites have a nice view of the lake. There's a nice playground where our kids spent ALL of their time. The facilities are decent. We didn't use them a ton though. Very easy 30 min drive to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore as well.
Great park nice spaces. It is first come, first serve, so get there early. First day we stayed in the overflow. Second day had a great spot on the lake. We had water and 50amp. Dump stations on the way out was really busy.
Great park. Well maintained, excellent views, good prices, lots of spots for longer RVs. I would recommend removing some of the encroaching willow trees from the shore to improve views.
Wonderful views and spacious sites. Lots of grass and the weather in late July was amazing. Love the wind coming off the lake. We started out in site 3 for a few days and moved to lakefront site 25 for another 6 days. Wish they had sewer connections but it’s still worth a visit even without.
A very nice clean city park. Lots of grass with nice level gravel sites. Clean bathrooms. Showers are separate and you need a code from the camp host to get in. Close to many waterfalls and Apostle Islands tour. Dump station is not level and a bit difficult to get in. You don't want to swim here due to the high goose poop!!! (Ecoli)
