This article will guide you through everything you need to know about this fantastic spot, from its secluded location and access points to the unique services and features that set it apart. We'll explore why this glamping experience is an ideal choice for anyone in Wisconsin looking for an easy, nature-infused escape without the hassle of traditional camping.

Sailor Springs Glamping is strategically located at 37085 W Bresette Hill Rd, Bayfield, WI 54814, USA. This address places it just two miles outside the picturesque tourist town of Bayfield, a well-known gateway to the magnificent Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Its location strikes a perfect balance: close enough to enjoy Bayfield's charm, shops, and restaurants, yet far enough removed to provide a truly secluded and immersive natural experience. The property itself spans 5 acres of forest on Bresette Hill Road, ensuring ample privacy and a true escape from the hustle and bustle.

Accessibility to Sailor Springs Glamping involves a unique and engaging element. Upon arrival, guests park at a designated trailhead. From there, the glamping sites are accessed via a scenic hike through the woods. The trail winds through a valley where the seasonal Clark Creek runs in the spring, adding to the natural ambiance. While the trail can be steep in spots, requiring a moderate level of fitness and mobility, this "hike-in" aspect is part of the experience, ensuring the seclusion and peacefulness that guests rave about. This deliberate design creates a fantastic sense of stepping away from the everyday and into a private natural sanctuary. Despite the short hike, the payoff is immense: a beautifully set, cozy hideaway amidst the serene sounds of nature. For those traveling from various parts of Wisconsin, the drive to Bayfield is a pleasant one, leading to this tranquil retreat just beyond the town's charming confines.

Sailor Springs Glamping focuses on providing a comfortable and effortless outdoor experience by offering a variety of thoughtful services and amenities. The goal is to make packing light and enjoying nature easy and luxurious.

  • Furnished Accommodations: Guests can choose from cozy A-frame cabins (like the "Anchor" cabin) or spacious canvas tents (such as "Drifter" and "Crow's Nest"). These accommodations are equipped with real beds, typically queen-sized, often with pillow-top mattresses for ultimate comfort. Some tents also offer additional single beds, making them suitable for families.

  • Complimentary Firewood: The host generously provides a complimentary set of firewood, making it easy to enjoy a classic campfire experience without the hassle of sourcing and transporting wood.

  • Essential Utilities: While promoting an off-grid feel, key amenities are available. Accommodations come with battery lamps and fans, providing light and air circulation. Some sites, like "Drifter," even have power and water at the site for charging devices and a utility sink. The Anchor cabin includes a wood stove for warmth.

  • Drinking Water: Potable drinking water is provided, eliminating the need for guests to bring their own supply for hydration.

  • Outdoor Shower: A unique "tree shower" or outdoor shower is provided, allowing guests to refresh themselves amidst nature.

  • Private Restroom Facilities: Each glamping site has its own private porta-potty located nearby, ensuring privacy and convenience.

  • Thoughtful Amenities: Beyond the basics, the host often provides extra touches like a teapot, a heater, and bistro lights that illuminate the site at the flick of a switch, creating a magical ambiance.

  • Pet-Friendly: Sailor Springs Glamping welcomes pets, allowing you to bring your furry companions along for the adventure (specific rules may apply, it's always best to check).

  • Bedding & Linens: While some tents may require guests to bring sleeping bags, pillows, bottom sheets, and throw blankets are generally provided, further reducing packing needs.

  • On-site Parking: While the sites are hike-in, there is a designated parking area at the trailhead for convenience.

Sailor Springs Glamping offers several distinctive features and highlights that make it a truly unique and appealing destination for Wisconsin locals:

  • True Glamping Experience: This is not roughing it. The emphasis is on comfortable, luxurious camping with real beds, thoughtful amenities, and a focus on relaxation, setting it apart from traditional tent camping.

  • Secluded Forest Setting: Each site is "snuggly set beside a stream" or "overlooks a valley," providing an incredibly private and tranquil atmosphere. The sound of the seasonal Clark Creek or the year-round Brickyard Creek adds to the serene ambiance.

  • Unique Accommodation Options: From cozy A-frame cabins to spacious canvas tents, the variety of glamping structures offers different experiences, each designed to immerse guests in nature comfortably.

  • Thoughtful and Attentive Host: Multiple reviews highlight the host's kindness, generosity, and attentiveness, often going above and beyond (e.g., complimentary firewood, upgrading bookings) to ensure a wonderful stay. This personal touch significantly enhances the overall experience.

  • Hike-In Immersion: The quarter-mile hike to the sites contributes to the sense of escape and seclusion. It ensures that guests earn their peace and quiet, stepping away from roads and everyday sounds.

  • Proximity to Bayfield and Apostle Islands: Despite its secluded feel, the glamping site is just two miles from Bayfield, making it easy to explore the charming town, access Lake Superior, and embark on adventures to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

  • Off-Grid Elements with Comfort: While providing an off-grid "unplugged" feel, the inclusion of battery-powered lighting, fans, and portable power sources (at some sites) ensures modern conveniences are still within reach.

  • Year-Round Creek Access: The "Anchor" A-frame cabin, for example, sits on the edge of the spring-fed Brickyard Creek, which flows year-round, offering consistent natural sounds and scenery.

  • Pet-Friendly Policy: The allowance of pets (without extra charges) is a significant highlight for many visitors who wish to bring their beloved animals on their outdoor adventures.

While Sailor Springs Glamping does not widely advertise specific seasonal promotions or complex special offers, the intrinsic value lies in its unique experience and transparent pricing. Tent campsites, for instance, are priced at $155 per night for two guests, and the Anchor A-frame cabin is $165 per night for two guests, both including taxes. These rates are competitive for a glamping experience that includes thoughtful amenities like complimentary firewood, drinking water, and access to private facilities. Given its niche and the personalized service, direct inquiries might reveal opportunities for extended stay discounts or custom packages for special occasions. It is always recommended to visit their official booking platforms or contact the host directly to inquire about any current deals or loyalty programs, as these can often be tailored to individual bookings or seasonal demand. The primary "promotion" is the promise of a peaceful, comfortable, and memorable glamping adventure that offers more than traditional camping at an accessible price point for such unique accommodations.

The host was very good. He had me double booked so he upgraded me to Anchor (better) Cabin (from tent). And it was wonderful and lovely with this spot and nature. He provided me with one set of firewood as complimentary. He had a battery lamp and fan for us which was super helpful. We loved the whole experience. It was more than what we expected. We are grateful to experience this.

We found ourselves in Bayfield on a whim looking for someplace to stay. Most of the rooms in the area run $250 - $400 -- way beyond what we wanted to spend. We stumbled upon "Glamping." It looked like a fun adventure. We booked it in a panic because it was the last reasonably priced place in the area. We then got an email that said "Bring your own sleeping bag." Oh goodness, we're in for a cold night. The owner, Abe, bailed us out and provide a couple of sleeping bags. Much needed and much appreciated. I think this place is a cool little treat. Something different and well done. Finding unique places like this is where memories are made. Very cool. We wish Abe all the best in his new venture.

Great glamping location only 5 minutes outside of Bayfield! We loved staying in the anchor cabin on the creek which felt totally secluded. The hosts also did a great job of making sure we had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Make sure to remember bug spray!
