We stayed at the Kritters Campground during Memorial Day weekend. What a wonderful getaway for relaxation, exploration, and a chance to get the side by side out. To start, the campground was beautifully decorated, from the laundry room to the beautiful pavilion which offers games, TV, a bar area, and screens to keep bugs away, to even the bathrooms were very nice and clean. They offered lots of activities for the whole family. The owners were friendly and helpful. They have a store in the front for extra convenience. My one complaint, and the only reason this wasn’t a full 5 stars. Was the sites facing each other. So when you walk out your camper door, you’re greeted with another family right there essentially sharing a site. Not the worst thing, and would be PERFECT for people coming as groups. But sometimes you don’t want to feel obligated into mixing with the neighbors. There is no separation between the sites.

Did tend to make things a bit uncomfortable. Thankfully, we had good neighbors. But overall I do recommend this campground highly, just go in knowing the sites are facing each other (besides a couple).

We will be back to Kritters Campground soon. So very clean. Cabins are adorable. Their new store they built is amazing. Great job. Even though we rented a cabin we walked the grounds and their bathrooms are so clean. A plus to this is their washer and dryer room. So nice. We will be back

If you’re looking for a LGBTQ+ friendly campground in the UP, Kritter’s Campground is the place to be. We arrived early and the office was closed from 11am to 1pm so the owners can prepare the campground for incoming campers. But what I thought was awesome was that they had a staging area for early arrivals we were able to drive to and park our 60’ rig while we wait. They are super friendly and have a lot to offer. We tried cooking dinner and our meat thermometer broke we asked if they had one to buy in the store, well they didn’t have one but they let us borrow their own personal one from their house. Also, our electric steps on our coach rusted and broke, they let us borrow their tools and even helped me in removing my steps to make things safer for our trip back home. The location is great! It’s about 7 minutes to Oswalds Bear ranch, 10 minutes to MI Dog (summer sled dog center), 20 minutes to Tahquamenon Falls, 50 minutes to the Great Lakes Shipwreck museum, 75 minutes to Sault Ste. Marie, and 75 minutes to pictured rocks national Lakeshore. They are super friendly, well organized, a great place for making some wonderful memories.
