## Introduction / Overview
For residents of Pennsylvania seeking a refreshing escape into the great outdoors, finding the right local destination is key to a memorable weekend or a relaxing extended vacation. Located amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Susquehanna Valley, **Lake Glory Campground** in Catawissa, PA, has established itself as a local fixture for decades, offering a mix of natural beauty and recreational opportunities. For many local families, this spot represents a cherished tradition, with some visitors noting they have been coming for **over 30 years** in their own RVs, consistently having a "great time."
The overall atmosphere of the campsite, according to long-time patrons, is described as **fantastic**, with particular praise reserved for the staff. The personnel are frequently noted for being **"fantastic and very very nice,"** and the service is often rated as **excellent** by guests. These factors suggest a strong commitment to hospitality and a positive operational environment for the majority of visitors.
However, an honest and factual overview must also include all public feedback. It is important for prospective visitors to be aware of a significant, specific negative experience shared in a public review. One customer reported a **"disturbing experience"** alleging **"racial profiling, discrimination, and intimidation toward Hispanic guests."** The review details being watched more closely, staff speaking with a rude and dismissive tone, harsher rule enforcement compared to non-Hispanic groups, and a threat of police involvement over noise, which the reviewer felt was a targeted attempt to intimidate. This serious allegation highlights a potential area of concern regarding staff conduct and equal treatment for all guests, particularly those from Hispanic communities and other people of color, and warrants consideration by anyone planning a stay.
Furthermore, visitors considering cabin rentals should be prepared for basic accommodations. Specific feedback on the cabins indicates they are **"disappointing,"** described as **"nothing but a box with no AC or heat."** Guests are strongly advised to bring their own cooling or heating units, as well as their own mattresses, as the provided ones are considered **"not very good."** This contrasts sharply with the positive feedback on the rest of the campsite and RV services.
## Location and Accessibility
Lake Glory Campground is nestled just outside the quaint town of Catawissa, providing a convenient and accessible location for many Pennsylvania residents. The precise address is **96 Eisenhower Rd, Catawissa, PA 17820, USA**. Its position in the heart of the Susquehanna Valley makes it an easy drive from major population centers across the state.
For locals in Eastern and Central Pennsylvania, the drive is particularly straightforward. The campground is situated a reasonable distance from major interstate highways, connecting it efficiently to areas like Harrisburg, Williamsport, and Scranton. The immediate surroundings offer the quiet, rolling hills and dense woodlands characteristic of this part of Pennsylvania, providing a true sense of escape without requiring a day-long journey.
Accessing the location typically involves navigating state routes before reaching the final local roads leading to Eisenhower Road. While the immediate area is rural, its proximity to Catawissa and other local towns means that emergency services, basic groceries, and fuel are within a short driving distance, balancing the feeling of seclusion with necessary convenience.
## Services Offered
Based on the consistent and positive feedback regarding the experience of RV guests and the overall operations, the campground offers a variety of services designed to enhance the stay of its patrons. While specific details on every utility are not publicly listed in the provided data, the fact that many RV users have been happily returning for decades strongly suggests a robust service offering in this area. These services generally include:
## Features / Highlights
Lake Glory Campground stands out to its loyal customer base due to specific features that contribute to its long-running appeal. However, as a factual overview, highlights of both the positive and challenging features must be listed:

## Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
Lake Glory Campground, for many long-term Pennsylvania residents, has proven its suitability as a local destination over three decades. Its primary appeal lies in its reliable, **fantastic** general campsite and RV services, complemented by **excellent service** from staff described as **"fantastic and very very nice."** For those who own their own **RV** and value consistency, established community, and friendly personnel, this location offers a dependable, traditional PA camping experience within an easy drive of home.
The experience is less suitable, however, for guests who rely on rental cabins. Visitors must be fully prepared to bring their own climate control (AC/heat) and bedding to manage the highly basic nature of these units. Crucially, all prospective visitors, particularly those from Hispanic and other minority communities, must factor in the very serious and specific public allegation of racial discrimination and unequal treatment by staff, which could pose a significant concern regarding a safe and welcoming environment for all groups. Local visitors are encouraged to contact the campground directly with any questions regarding their diversity and inclusion policies to ensure a comfortable stay. When considering a local getaway, Lake Glory offers a proven RV track record but requires careful consideration of its reported hospitality and cabin limitations.

The cabins were disappointing. There are nothing but a box with no AC or heat. Bring your own air conditioner or heater. Bring your own mattress as theirs are not very good. The personnel there are fantastic and very very nice. The service there is excellent. Everything in the campsite is fantastic except for the cabins. I on have been going there for 30 years now in my own RV and I've always had a great time. But if you're renting a cabin be prepared for what you get.
Sep 02, 2025 · Neil PalmerRACIST! 0 STARS! READ > Don’t like HISPANICS. I’m leaving this review to share a disturbing experience at this campground involving racial profiling, discrimination, and intimidation toward Hispanic guests, including myself and my group. From the start, we noticed we were being watched more closely than other campers. Staff spoke to us with a rude and dismissive tone, enforcing rules more harshly against us while ignoring similar behavior from non-Hispanic groups nearby. The most upsetting part was when we were threatened with police involvement simply for being “too loud”—despite the fact that other groups were playing music and talking late into the night with no consequences. It felt like a clear attempt to intimidate us and escalate a minor issue, simply because we were Hispanic. This kind of targeted behavior and unequal treatment is unacceptable, and it made us feel unsafe, unwelcome, and clearly not valued as paying guests. No family or group should have to experience this level of bias or feel they’re being policed just for existing. I strongly urge management to take a hard look at how their staff treats minority guests. Until real change is made, I can’t recommend this campground to anyone—especially people of color or Hispanic communities. Be aware before booking
Jul 06, 2025 · jasmine barretoI’m deeply disappointed and hurt by the treatment my family and I received at this campsite. As a Hispanic family, we were racially profiled the moment we arrived. Within minutes of setting up, security began tailing us, watching our every move like we didn’t belong there. To make things worse, we were complained about for our crying baby, who only cried that one time-something that any family with young children understands is natural and sometimes unavoidable. Instead of offering any understanding or support, we felt targeted and unwelcome from the start. We came to this campsite to relax and enjoy nature, but instead we left feeling uncomfortable, judged, and disrespected. No one should be made to feel this way, especially not because of their ethnicity. Why approach me and start off by saying "do you speak English?" I hope the management reflects seriously on how guests are treated. Every paying customer deserves fairness, respect, and the same level of hospitality—regardless of their race or background. To top it off - no trees , muddy areas , no pool , dirty bathrooms
Jul 06, 2025 · Miguel MelendezAmazing campground. Extremely well maintained. The bathrooms and showers at the bath house are a little outdated, but still very clean! I used them without any issue!! My family plans on returning. The camp store workers are SO KIND and HELPFUL!!
Aug 05, 2025 · Patty BonillaAbsolutely Disgusting Behavior – Avoid This Racist Dump at All Costs If I could give zero stars, I would. This place doesn’t even deserve the one I’m forced to give. From the moment we arrived, we were harassed, profiled, and disrespected for one reason: we’re Hispanic. We weren’t loud. We followed every rule. Yet staff wouldn’t stop hovering like we were criminals. A baby cried—a BABY—and they acted like we set off a bomb. Meanwhile, other (non-Hispanic) campers were blasting music, laughing loud late into the night, and no one said a word to them. Not. One. Word. But us? They threatened us for relaxing. For sitting quietly, minding our business. They made it crystal clear we weren’t welcome because of who we are. It wasn’t about noise. It wasn’t about rules. It was straight-up racism, and they didn’t even try to hide it. If you’re a person of color, especially Hispanic, do not come here. Save yourself the disrespect, the hostility, and the fake smiles that turn into power-tripping threats. This place isn’t a campground—it’s a playground for discrimination. Shame on this place. And shame on whoever’s running it. You’ve been reported, and we’ll make sure others know exactly what kind of people you are.
