Sep 22, 2025 · Kellie HahnIf you are looking for somewhere clean, quiet and close to Knoebels I highly recommend Mossy Point. Called at almost 9 PM on a Monday hoping to just get a site to sleep at for the night and was surprised with a lovely, accommodating camping experience. The owner, Dan, met me at the entrance and had me follow him. Dan was so kind as to set me up at the little "tiki bar" pavilion as there was a thunderstorm coming and he even helped me set up camp. I was not expecting to have lights or electricity either but the pavilion had an outlet and cozy rainbow lights. Dan also encouraged me to pull my car right up to the pavilion for ease of access. He seemed to be a very hospitable person. Now for the camping itself, I was also pleasantly surprised. I stayed completely dry in the pavilion and it was actually a real fun place to sleep. There was a scenic vista that overlooked Knoebels right by my site. The porta potties were incredibly clean; I'm talking unused. Incredible. It was mostly quiet minus construction on a nearby road but the birdsong was plentiful. There is a shower which I was expecting to be lukewarm due to the thermometer on the barrel outside saying 80° but the water was hot for the whole ~10 minutes I was in there. There seemed to be no one else at the campground, though a few campers are parked there- maybe seasonal campers? All in all, I would recommend staying here if you want somewhere quiet, clean and pretty to stay. There are ample trees for hammockers and good flat spots for tents. My site had a water spigot and it appeared the other sites all did too. CASH ONLY so bring cash!
Jul 08, 2025 · Taylor LatshaPicked this campsite because everywhere else was sold out near Knoebels (that I could find on Google) When we called to book we asked for the price for one site, the response was “how many tents do you have?” We had two and were told we had to purchase two sites if we had two tents. Our two tents are rather small and can always fit on one site which is why we’ve always bought one, additionally what if we had 1 four person tent? Would we be required to purchase two sites still if regardless we only plan to use one? The whole thing seemed silly to me. We got the two sites anyway because we’d already planned this vacation and didn’t want to have to reschedule. My partner was additionally upsold over the phone $15 for firewood by the owner that had been sitting out wet and useless when we arrived so we ended up having to buy two 5$ bundles at the gas station five minutes down the road. When we arrived we ended up all using just one of the two sites we had to pay for because we all wanted to hang next to each other, this would’ve been fine if we weren’t located directly behind the porta potty - down wind. The porta potty stench was a nightmare, every day was the battle of “can I hold it until Knoebels or do I HAVE to go in the porta potty?” Because you did not want to have to gas yourself in there. The few times you did go in make sure to bring a partner because surprise theres also no lock on the door either. The porta potty next to us was also (to my knowledge) the only toilet for the entire campgrounds. To top it all off at the end of the night the owners dog wandered into our campsite by itself around 10 pm and left us a nice “present” right next to our tent. Would not recommend and will not be back.

Aug 05, 2025 · Jessica StollCamped here while offroading at AOAA. Pros: Very quiet and small site, so way better than the giant parking lot of a campground at AOAA. Plenty of porter potties and even showers. We did not try to shower due to cold weather. Every site had camper electric hookups and water spouts, loved the free water, however, out of the 5 sites between the group only one had normal electric outlets, and we were all tenting. Loved the swings for the kids. Cons: Firewood was rediculiosly pricey for the ammount given. They really need to update their website, it's completely useless. Not even a map and the sites are not marked.
