The park aims to provide essential services to its residents and visitors, focusing on the core needs of RVers. While there have been some noted challenges regarding communication and specific promised amenities, the park’s fundamental offering of a place to stay with necessary hookups in a beautiful location remains its strong suit. For those who prioritize a quiet setting, a scenic view, and strong cell service, Lick Creek RV Park often fits the bill perfectly, allowing you to connect with nature on your terms. Lick Creek RV Park is located at 140 Lick Creek Rd, Meadow Bridge, WV 25976, USA. This address places it within the charming and naturally rich area of Meadow Bridge in Fayette County, West Virginia. For locals, its accessibility is generally straightforward, situated in a region known for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities.

Meadow Bridge, while a smaller community, serves as a gateway to parts of the New River Gorge area and other attractions in southern West Virginia. Access to Lick Creek RV Park typically involves navigating state and local roads that offer picturesque views of the Appalachian landscape. Depending on your starting point within West Virginia, you would likely approach Meadow Bridge via major routes like Interstate 64 (I-64) or U.S. Route 19, then transition to more local roads such as WV-20 or others that lead into the Meadow Bridge area. The park's address on "Lick Creek Rd" suggests a location that might be slightly off the main thoroughfare, offering a more secluded and peaceful environment, which is often a desirable trait for RV parks.

While direct highway proximity isn't explicitly mentioned as a highlight, its placement within Meadow Bridge implies reasonable connectivity for RV travelers. The benefit of this location is the ability to enjoy the tranquility of a more rural setting while still being within a practical driving distance of regional points of interest. For example, the eastern parts of the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, with its hiking trails, overlooks, and river access points, would be accessible for day trips. Other attractions, such as Babcock State Park with its iconic Grist Mill, and potentially even parts of the scenic Midland Trail (US Route 60) for a picturesque drive, are within the broader vicinity.

The local roads leading to the park are generally suitable for RVs, though as with any travel in mountainous regions, drivers should always be mindful of road conditions and curves. The location allows visitors to experience the "beautiful night skies" and the natural charm that defines this part of West Virginia, making it a convenient base for exploring the region's natural wonders.

Lick Creek RV Park aims to provide the essential services needed for a comfortable RV stay, focusing on the core necessities that allow campers to enjoy their time in Meadow Bridge.

Services Offered:

  • RV Sites with Hookups: The park offers sites equipped with full hookups, which typically include water, electric, and sewer connections, essential for self-contained RVs.
  • Long-Term Stays Available: The mention of a monthly rate ($550, which includes utilities) suggests that the park caters to both short-term visitors and those looking for extended or seasonal stays.
  • Utilities Included (in monthly rent): For long-term residents, utilities appear to be part of the monthly rent, simplifying billing.
  • On-site Management Presence: While specific interactions may vary, the presence of an owner and son suggests some level of on-site or readily available management.

It is important to note the customer feedback regarding internet service. While the park reportedly includes internet with monthly payments, there have been concerns from residents about its availability and functionality over an extended period. Prospective visitors, especially those relying on internet access, should inquire directly with the park about the current status and reliability of their Wi-Fi service. Communication regarding concerns has also been highlighted as an area for potential improvement by some reviewers.

Overall, Lick Creek RV Park provides the fundamental services for RV camping, with an emphasis on hookups for both transient and long-term stays.

Despite some noted challenges in communication and specific amenity delivery, Lick Creek RV Park offers several compelling features and highlights that attract RVers to its Meadow Bridge location. These aspects contribute to its appeal for those seeking a particular type of camping experience.

Features / Highlights:

  • Scenic Location: The park is situated in a naturally beautiful area, offering appealing views of the surrounding West Virginia landscape. This contributes to a peaceful and relaxing environment.
  • Beautiful Night Skies: A significant highlight for many outdoor enthusiasts, the park's location provides excellent opportunities for stargazing due to reduced light pollution. This is a major draw for those who appreciate natural phenomena.
  • Good Verizon Service: For many RVers, reliable cell service is crucial. The park is noted for having "good Verizon service," which is a significant advantage for communication, navigation, and staying connected while on the road, especially in more remote areas of West Virginia.
  • Quiet Environment: While not explicitly stated, the lack of extensive recreational facilities and its location suggest a quieter, more serene atmosphere compared to busier, amenity-rich parks. This is ideal for those seeking relaxation and tranquility.
  • Full Hookups: The availability of full hookups (water, electric, sewer) at each site provides essential convenience for RV living, allowing for comfortable and self-contained stays.
  • Kind Owner (as per one review): Positive feedback from one customer specifically highlighted a "kind owner," suggesting a welcoming and friendly disposition, which is crucial for a pleasant stay.
  • Long-Term Stay Potential: The mention of monthly rates indicates that the park is suitable for extended stays, appealing to those who need a base for longer periods, perhaps for work in the area or extended exploration.

While challenges related to Wi-Fi availability and communication have been raised by some, the core features of a scenic, quiet location with essential hookups and good cell service remain strong points for Lick Creek RV Park.

Based on the provided information, Lick Creek RV Park does not explicitly advertise traditional "promotions or special offers" such as seasonal discounts, holiday packages, or loyalty programs. Its pricing structure, specifically the mention of a $550 monthly rate that includes utilities, suggests that its primary "offer" is competitive pricing for longer-term stays with bundled services.

The $550 monthly rate is effectively a promotional offer for extended residents, as it implies a reduced daily or weekly cost compared to short-term rates, along with the convenience of having utilities (and supposedly internet) included in one flat fee. This can be a significant draw for individuals or families needing a base in the Meadow Bridge area for several weeks or months.

However, it is crucial for prospective long-term residents to carefully clarify what "utilities included" specifically entails, particularly concerning the internet service. The review clearly indicates a discrepancy between the stated inclusion of internet and its actual availability and functionality for residents over several months. This is a critical point that potential visitors should discuss directly with the park management to avoid misunderstandings.

For short-term or overnight stays, pricing and any potential offers would need to be confirmed directly with the park via phone. Given the "no frills" nature suggested by the reviews, any "promotions" would likely be focused on straightforward value for the provided services rather than elaborate discounts.

Therefore, while direct promotional campaigns are not apparent, the park's primary "special offer" is its monthly rate structure, designed to be attractive for longer-term RV residents in the region.

It is also recommended to clearly state your concerns or questions during the call to ensure they are addressed.

For West Virginians and those looking for a place to stay in our beautiful state, Lick Creek RV Park offers a compelling option, particularly for those who prioritize a quiet setting and essential RV amenities. Its suitability for locals stems from several key factors that align with what many of us seek in an RV park.

Firstly, the park’s location in Meadow Bridge, WV, places it within a serene and naturally beautiful part of the state. We West Virginians cherish our scenic landscapes, and Lick Creek RV Park provides just that – a tranquil environment surrounded by the kind of views that define "Almost Heaven." For a peaceful getaway, or a convenient base from which to explore the surrounding natural attractions like parts of the New River Gorge, its setting is ideal.

Secondly, the availability of full hookups (water, electric, sewer) at each site means that it offers the fundamental necessities for comfortable RV living. For both short-term visitors and those looking for extended stays, having these core services readily available simplifies the camping experience. The inclusion of utilities in the monthly rent for long-term residents, although with a caveat regarding internet, offers a straightforward budgeting approach that can be very appealing to locals planning an extended stay in the area, perhaps for work or simply to enjoy the region for a season.

A significant practical advantage for many modern RVers is the reported "good Verizon service." In many rural parts of West Virginia, reliable cell signal can be spotty, making strong connectivity a prized feature. This ensures that you can stay in touch with family, manage work if necessary, or simply navigate and plan your daily activities without frustration. Coupled with the "beautiful night skies," which offer a stunning natural spectacle, the park provides opportunities for both digital connection and natural disconnection.

While there have been concerns raised about communication and the consistent delivery of Wi-Fi, the core offering of a quiet, scenic, and well-equipped RV spot remains. For locals who understand the nuances of rural West Virginia and prioritize a peaceful base with essential services, Lick Creek RV Park offers a genuine opportunity to enjoy our state’s charm without the added frills or crowds of larger resorts. It’s a place that caters to the practical RVer who appreciates nature and a quiet retreat right in their backyard.

Both men who are in charge, one being the son and the other the dad, they say internet is included with paying $550, but we have not seen it turned on or show up on a wifi scan every time we have passed this place or came by to see. Which is rediculous, because it should have been turned on or fixed by this point. It has been 3 months! Get it setup or quit telling people internet is included. Would hope they are not including internet payment into the rent payment for all utilities if they dont even have it running for their residents to use. They also do not answer peoples texts or communicate to listen and help about their concerns or answer questions which is disrespectful and rude. Would hope they do not get an attitude if someone spokeup about any of these things themselves especially since they are the ones paying for it all living there. Kind of seem like they would blame their residents for any problems there instead of just taking care of any issues and leaving them be. No wonder nobody stays or wants to come here.
