Hampton Summer Wind RV Park About
For RV enthusiasts across West Virginia, finding a convenient, clean, and welcoming spot to park your home-on-wheels is always a top priority. While some seek resort-style amenities, many of us truly appreciate a straightforward, well-kept park that serves as an excellent base for adventure or a peaceful overnight stop. Hampton Summer Wind RV Park in Meadow Bridge, WV, fits this description perfectly. It’s a "no frills" establishment in the best possible sense – focusing on what truly matters: clean, functional sites and a beautiful setting, all managed with a unique, trust-based system that resonates with the independent spirit of RV travelers.
Located within the heart of our picturesque state, Hampton Summer Wind RV Park offers a unique blend of easy accessibility and scenic beauty. It's the kind of place you might stumble upon when other options are full, only to discover it's exactly what you needed. Guests consistently highlight its straightforward approach to camping, where the emphasis is on a well-maintained site rather than an abundance of flashy amenities. This focus allows you to truly appreciate the stunning West Virginia landscape that surrounds you, from rolling meadows to distant mountains.
What makes Hampton Summer Wind particularly appealing to locals is its genuine, laid-back atmosphere. It operates largely on an honor system, reflecting a trust that often characterizes our communities. This approach, combined with the efficient remote management by friendly and helpful staff like Kimberly, ensures a smooth and hassle-free experience. Whether you’re planning a multi-day exploration of the New River Gorge area or simply need a comfortable and safe place to rest for the night, Hampton Summer Wind RV Park provides a perfect, reasonably priced solution right here in Almost Heaven.
Hampton Summer Wind RV Park is conveniently situated at 2204 Lawn Rd, Meadow Bridge, WV 25976, USA. Its location is a significant advantage for RV travelers, particularly for those looking for easy access to major transportation routes. The park is described as being "no more than 500 yards off of a major highway," specifically Interstate 64 (I-64) near Exit 150 at Dawson. This makes it incredibly easy to "get to it" for big rigs and various sizes of RVs, ensuring a smooth arrival and departure without navigating complicated or narrow country roads. When exiting I-64, visitors simply follow the camping sign pointing down Lawn Road, and the entrance is approximately 300 yards on the left.
While its proximity to the highway ensures convenience, it's worth noting, as some reviews mention, that "you will hear the traffic day and night." However, this noise is generally described as "not obnoxious but it is there," a small trade-off for the unparalleled ease of access.
Beyond its immediate roadside convenience, the park’s location in Meadow Bridge places it within a vibrant region of West Virginia. Meadow Bridge itself is a small community, but it serves as a gateway to numerous natural and recreational attractions. The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, with its iconic bridge, vast trails, and whitewater rafting opportunities, is well within an hour's drive. This allows campers to use Hampton Summer Wind as a strategic base camp for exploring one of America's newest and most spectacular national parks. Additionally, the historic and elegant Greenbrier Resort and the charming town of Lewisburg are also within a reasonable driving distance, offering different types of attractions from fine dining to historic sites. This balance of easy access to major routes and proximity to significant West Virginia landmarks makes Hampton Summer Wind RV Park a highly accessible and attractive option for locals and those traveling through our beautiful state.

Hampton Summer Wind RV Park, operating on a "no frills" and honor system model, does not typically advertise traditional "promotions or special offers" in the way larger chain RV parks might. Its primary allure and "special offer" are inherently built into its operating model and value proposition:
- Reasonable Pricing: Reviewers frequently highlight that the park is "reasonably priced" and "inexpensive compared to some other places" in West Virginia, particularly those closer to the New River Gorge. This competitive pricing acts as a continuous "promotion" for budget-conscious travelers.
- Consistent Value: The consistent delivery of well-maintained, clean facilities with full hookups, easy access, and beautiful views at a competitive rate is the core "offer" of Hampton Summer Wind. The fact that many campers feel their experience "far exceeded what we were expecting" despite its "bare minimum" description, suggests strong inherent value.
- Honor System Convenience: While not a discount, the unique honor system for check-in and payment offers a seamless and stress-free experience that many travelers appreciate, especially for late arrivals or quick overnight stops. This streamlined process could be considered a form of "convenience promotion."
Based on some public information, Hampton Summer Wind RV Park has previously offered discounts for Escapees RV Club or Good Sam Club members. While this information might be dated, it suggests that they have been open to affiliations that provide benefits to RV communities. It is always a good practice to inquire about any current affiliations or potential discounts when making a reservation or upon arrival.
Given the largely remote management, the "promotions" are more about the consistent quality and ease of use rather than fluctuating deals. For the most up-to-date information on rates and any potential offers, direct contact is always recommended.

This remote yet efficient management ensures that your booking needs are met even without an on-site office presence. It is highly recommended to call ahead, especially if you are traveling with a large rig or during peak seasons, to confirm availability and ensure a smooth arrival. While the park largely operates on an honor system for payment, initial contact via phone is the primary method for making arrangements.

Customer Reviews
Hampton Summer Wind CG... The good news: It's probably no more then 500 yards off of a major highway so getting to it is easy and it is big rig friendly (We are almost 70' long). The bad news: it's probably no more then 500 yards off of a major highway so you will hear the traffic day and night (it's not obnoxious but it is there). Beyond those two points this is a well maintained and clean but absolutely bare minimum, No frills campground. If that's a problem for you you shouldn't bother to read any further. If however that's not a problem for you then read on. This a small but easy to navigate Campground. You have mostly level and gravel pull through sights to park on with full hookups. There is only one building on the property that is used as an office, along with bathroom and laundry room. We were here for a week and never once saw anyone in the office. It just stays locked. The campground basically runs on the honor system. When you pull in you stop and get an envelope and you put your money in it for the amount of nights you're staying. If you extend your stay as we did, you just call and go get another envelope. Our reservations were made completely through the phone with the (friendly and helpful) daughter of the owners and she was located in a completely different state. The entire time we were there we only saw an owner one time for about 2 minutes as she drove through, said hello and then was gone. The view of the mountains and meadows is gorgeous here, and you are within an hour's drive of many wonderful things to see and do. So if you just want a place to sleep while you explore (like we did) this is a perfect and reasonably priced campground. We will definitely be staying here again when we're back in this area.
We were looking for a last minute place to camp at night when luckily we found Hampton. It was quite, bug free, and well maintained. They also have showers and wifi! When we woke up in the morning we noticed a beautiful view of West Virginia. We highly recommend. Thank you Kimberly for helping us feel right at home!
Great small park with full hookups just off I-64. Site was level enough and the view was very nice. Excellent location for our unplanned day trip of the New River Gorge area. We would stay again if passing through the area.
Ann was just the sweetest. We were passing through on Memorial weekend and she was very accommodating. Beautiful view and clean. We will definitely visit again.
It's a nice quiet RV park literally 2 minutes from interstate 64.. they do have a bathhouse as far as amenities that's it..
